So this is based as the album says on the urban legend of THIS MAN, a man that can appear in peoples dreams and gives them advice. They are both THIS MAN, both of them can manipulate dreams. Jeonghan puts everyone to a sleep with sweet dreams. Basically, hes creating his world away from the harsh reality hes running from, where he is sad with all the people wearing the bedsheets. You can see the lights go out and how some buildings are covered when he does this. Wonwoo hears the people talking beside the vanding machine about someone who can make your wish come true (at the beginning). He sees the people sleeping and wakes them up after giving them comfort. Both of them go through the door into the dream world and wonwoo starts chasing jeonghan, he eventually finds him in someones dream but jeonghan turns into dust to escape. So wonwoo keeps waking up everyone jeonghan puts to sleep. At the end when they finally meet, jeonghan falls to his knees at the same time the last building is unveiled and the lights are working everywhere in the city meaning wonwoo woke everyone up. I believe this last scene takes place into the dream world and by touching jeonghan and him collapsing, wonwoo actually wakes him up. The lemonade is the only thing coloured throughout the whole mv and all the people drink it after being woken up represents wonwoo making all of them face their reality even if it’s bitter. The last part where jeonghan is drinking lemonade signifies him finally facing reality after running from it for so long
OMG I just noticed that when Wonwoo entered through the window, there were already things turned to sand on the table in the room, this shows that Jeonghan came here before and Wonwoo enters the dream of the sleeping man and starts looking for Jeonghan.
Just noticed today that when wonwoo sang “nox and nox!” The city lights turned off. Nox is latin word for lights off. Also used in Harry Potter as a spell for turning the lights off
Watching the teaser again with you guys i just realized the lemonade symbolizes the reality and the sand symbolizes the dream. In the teaser wonwoo leaves the lemonade at the window and it disappeares after he enters the room meaning he has entered the dream that jeonghan has created and we see sand everywhere and the chair wonwoo touches turns to sand meaning jeonghan has already sent the guy into a dream. Then wonwoo wakes the dude up and disappeares and after that we can see the lemonade box again with the guy waking up to the reality. Also in the music video everytime we see the lemonade box wonwoo is out of the dreamscape. Also at the end of the mv jeonghan has a lemonade cup again symbolizing that wonwoo has also brought him back to reality
Fun fact: jeonghan wonwoo in na pd live (on his channel) stated that the next two songs in the album also related to this song. Probably will help us more understand what their role a.k.a dream vs reality
Interesting! I saw Form of Therapy's reaction and yours and I think I have a theory: I feel like Wonwoo is the original Sandman and, somehow, Jeonghan got the power to put people to sleep too, but he's using it the wrong way because he is altering the order of things: people are asleep, immersed in these nice dreams he has created, when, in reality, they are supposed to be awake and living their lives. That would make him the nightmare. Wonwoo could be the one that is afraid of being forgotten for a number of things: metaphorically speaking, it could be about people forgetting to live their dreams or just because he's part of the folklore, maybe people used to believe in him but now they might think he's a myth or just a fairytale, and not real. Jeonghan is stuck in his insomnia and that's why when Wonwoo makes him fall asleep, he breaks free from the loop and stops making trouble. Also, the animation scene could be a reference to the graphic novel 'The Sandman' by Neil Gaiman, just because it's a little bit random to put it in there for just a few seconds, but maybe not 😂
From watching the story line, my thought is that wonwoo was the original “this man” but he was an urban legend and all of a sudden he heard the story “this man” and there was additional story to how “this man” can fulfill your wish in your dream. Wonwoo is now confused and investigates on who this man is. Jeonghan going through the loss of his love and is searching for that person and same time fulfilling people wishes in their dream. Wonwoo is basically bringing him back to reality and basically saying we can’t live in the dream forever no matter how beautiful it is cause our unconscious self is in tears.. that’s not true happiness nor is it something we truly need.
What a coincidence, I turned on your video to watch and then the Audiobook for the story just dropped haha 😂 Apparently the author of the audiobook writes contemporary horror/thriller stories so it'll be interesting to see the tone of the story. Plus jeonghan and wonwoo narration? Absolutely 😊
They released audio book for the story! Their voice sounds so soothing 😭❤ I think they should honestly open a podcast where they read fans stories! That's be so cool! Usually Wonwoo voice would kill me no doubt but Jeonghan's voice is such a lullaby when he narrates TuT♡♡♡
you guys are totally on the right track with the storyline, thats basically it! you should listen to the 38 min audiobook that just came out, it'll fill in all the blanks you have. they rly outdid themselves with the world building this time!
I love your reaction and how the two of you debated on the theories. It really represented us when we first watched the mv. Anyway, you have to watch the stage video on mcountdown. It's reaaally good!!!
Yaaaay, I was looking forward to your reaction! Just gonna reiterate what's already been said in the comments, they also released an Audiobook Teaser that explains better the storyline of the MV, so you might want to check that out in your own time!
I just saw that they released the full audiobook storyline of the MV, it's a nearly 40min video with Jeonghan and Wonwoo reading the story to us (I haven't even watched it yet, but I'm so excited already!)
We still cannot get over how insanely cool it is that they released an audiobook narration for this story. So much detail and intricacy went into this!
they just released a whole audiobook of the story it's here on yt you can check it out on your free time! wonu's right, the storyline of this man was so good 👏👏
Of course I'm so happy you're reacting to this. Of course I'm super happy that we're getting an early Seventeen reaction. But I always say these things lol so after saying all that, I'll just say "Hi" 😂
sooo, from what i understand (after watching the mv hundred times and went deep dive into the lore and story on twt) also from what they are saying about this mv, specifically wonwoo, the story tell about them having the power to manipulate people's dreams. so wonwoo heard the story about jeonghan in the beginning from the whispers where people saying have you seen this man bla bla. and jeonghan is basically trapping people to be in a dream, because he knows that dream is way more beautiful than people's reality so in a way, he can be a nightmare because you definitely lose a sense of yourself if you are not aware of your own reality. and that's where wonwoo walks around the city to walk people up from that dream and needs them to face their own reality even if it's bitter. jeonghan toward the end making so many people sleep too much that he also started to lose himself, he lose his purpose and not knowing why he did all this. and that's when wonwoo opening jeonghan's door and find him, means he is entering jeonghan's dream and wake him up into his own reality. that's why he wakes up and wonwoo become his 'this man'. the story, the music and everything is sooo freaking amazing and i love seeing them with another unexpected genre that they can explore with their endless possibilities and talents. one thing i want tho, since maestro, wonwoo clearly need to be in a freaking drama.
OMG HII btw aw man you guys should watch the audiobook teaser too! jeonghan and wonwoo were reading to me about their lore IM SAD YOU GUYS DIDNT WATCH IT ALTOGETHER theres more info in it about the lore (p/s: GOOD NEWS they just uploaded the full story of this man audiobook on svt yt channel! hope to see you guys react to both audiobook teaser and full version!)
GUYSSS, IF YOU HAVE SOME TIME GO AND WATCH THE FULL STORY THAT THEY JUST UPLOADED. THEY EXPLAIN EVERYTHING WHO IS WHO AND IT'S WORTH IT!!!! (CAPSLOCK BECAUSE I'M SO OVERWHELMED)!!!!
The forgotten one is neither Jeonghan nor Wonwoo. In the plot Jeonghan is in Pain (he and the people that he represents) prefers to be in the dreamland (will called it) because that is the only place where he can be with person he is missing, you will see that Jeonghan is in so much pain that he is doing that all the people get to sleep. He is given them the same thing that he needs. Wonwoo is the only that can't go to sleep and he realize that Jeonghan is forgetting how is to live in the real world so he tries to wake up them up and finally saves Jeonghan, but Jeonghan has forgotten that person 😢
OMG daha yeni fark ettim wonwoo pencereden girdiğinde zaten odada ki masada kuma dönmüş şeyler vardı bu daha önce jeonghan ın buraya geldiğini gösteriyor ve wonwoo uyuyan adamın rüyasına girip jeonghan ı aramaya başlıyor
I think the one Jeonghan was searching for in the dreams of others is someone he loved from the lyrics, so that is why i think he looks so lifeless becoz he lost that someone n searching for them.... N I think in the scene where Wonwoo caught upto Jeonghan,he disappeared before he could the unveil the person under the cloth(?) , maybe he was checking if it was the person he was looking for but had to leave becoz Wonwoo was abt to catch him N I do think the drink Jeonghan was holding at the end was Lemonade , becoz if u see the drink that Wonwoo was always drinking is 'True Lemonade'...so maybe Wonwoo was the one who kept it there when he woke Jeonghan from his dream??N the cartoon of the drink also appears when Jeonghan put man in sleep in the office n he leaves when sees that..? I'm not really sure but this whole concept is very intriguing n interesting
yeah on twt and weverse there were so many theories 😭 (imo jeonghan and wonwoo are overlapping with each other and are essentially the same) they released on audiobook about 'this man' !! hope u listen and react to this again, it really gives a new perspective on the story of the mv, the writer is famous for his horror and thrillers i think and it is a really good story, jeonghan and wonwoo read it themselves !!!
Love your reaction ladiess❤ yess.. Nox or Nyx is the goddess and personification of the night. In this mv jeonghan and wonwoo is nox and hve ability to manipulate people's dream to make them happy. (hence why the lyric said nox and nox) but jeonghan lose the purpose of it and try to make people forget about reality and immerse in fantasy through their sweet dream bcoz of sadness or depression in reality i guess?😅 But Wonu wanted people realise that fantasy can kill u slowly through darkness and try to wake everyone up including his nox twin, jeonghan. Thats why in this mv, he try to chase and catch jeonghan..and he succeeded. The last scene jeonghan also awake from his long dark sleep? and free from all his burden..? *well thats my interpretation for this song 😂 Btw, feel free to drop your version.. I like to read and thinking about it❤
Hello!!!!!!🥰 The songs are soooooooooooo good!!!!!!!!! I love them!!!!!1😍🤩 The lyrics are beautiful!!!!! And their voices absolutely stanning!!!!! They look soooooooooo good!!!!😍😍 Now I can't say I understood completly what was happening! From the trailer only I would say that Jeonghan was the one with the nightmares and Wonwoo the forgotten one, but watching the Mv and the other two songs, I got more confused!😅 I' m not good with theories!😅 But By watching all of them I think Jeonghan and Wonwoo are connected somehow! Like Wonwoo is the one that lives in Jeonghan's dreams and Jeonghan doesn't want to wake up so he could continue see or remember Wonwoo! I don't know really!😅 I'm to invested in this but very confused!!🤣🤣 The two solo songs seems in a way like the two of them talking to each other! You're right though! After the thousents of times that I watched it, I think Wonwoo was chasing Jeonghan! Maybe because he wanted to stop him from making people forget or something? And there's definately something hapenning with the lemo juice!! I love everything about the song the melodies, the latin vibes the beat, their voices! They suit this kind of songs soo well, and their voices together are perfection!!!!🤩😍 The Mv is beautiful! 😍 The whole Mv reamides me of Doom at your services the Kdrama!☺ That was soo much fun! See you at your next! Bye!🥰
Hello 🥰🥰! This was amazing ❤ we had so much fun not only listening to the song but also trying to figure out what was going on in the MV. They looked amazing! We were also very invested 😂 That's how you know they did exactly what they set out to do. It sure got everyone talking 😆. Omg Doom At Your Service! I kind of does!
We also call these two "The EXPENSIVE PHOTOCARD duo" lmfao If you see the prices of their photocards? You'd be like "WTF?!!!" Some fans even BID their photocards. TT^TT

This is the best explanation ever BTW listen to the audiobook
The lemonade kinda had me confused for a while. This made me understand it now
Understood!😮😊 Thanks
They released an audiobook (profile of this man) which is basically the storyline of this man explained by them
It’s literally the coolest thing that they released an audiobook for this story 😫
OMG I just noticed that when Wonwoo entered through the window, there were already things turned to sand on the table in the room, this shows that Jeonghan came here before and Wonwoo enters the dream of the sleeping man and starts looking for Jeonghan.
The animation really caught me off guard. Made everything even more better! Also the storyline is really intriguing! A successful duo indeed ❤
Just noticed today that when wonwoo sang “nox and nox!” The city lights turned off. Nox is latin word for lights off. Also used in Harry Potter as a spell for turning the lights off
Meet the two expensive men that took all my money 🥲
LMAO understandable though 😭😭😭
fr tho, as a jeonghan bias collecting his pcs for this album would be a nightmare 😭
Waiting for the album to arrive! I'm so excited 😭
Honestly😂😂😂😂😂😂
The audiobook teaser actually explained the storyline more
Watching the teaser again with you guys i just realized the lemonade symbolizes the reality and the sand symbolizes the dream.
Also noticed Wonwoo is drinking the TRUE lemonade
You guys need to hear wonwoo and mingyu song called bittersweet and seventeen song called fast pace
bittersweet and fast pace 😭
and Jeonghan said hes like the sirens from greek myths, luring people into dreamland
Fun fact: jeonghan wonwoo in na pd live (on his channel) stated that the next two songs in the album also related to this song. Probably will help us more understand what their role a.k.a dream vs reality
guys, they just released the full story audiobook behind "This Man" on their channel.

이번 영상 정말 감사합니다 원한님 사랑해요 노래가 끝나는게 유일한 단점이에요 ❤❤Thank you so much for this video, Wonhan, I love you. The only flaw of the song is that it ends ❤

We reacted to them tonight and that reaction should hopefully be out soon this week! 🥰
I hope you can squeeze in the audiobook story explanation for the next video. As everyone else has said it really just explains the whole concept/MV.

I think that's why I did not like the audiobook as much 😢
