I am impressed by my younger self. Young silly teenager but knew this was true talent in the 70's. My favorite band.

You are absolutely right... and yet, Igor Koroshev cannot keep pace with Rick Wakeman's keyboard performance (please listen to the YESSONGS version).

Ditto, I couldn't make head nor tails of the lyrics but I knew they were heavy and the musicianship spoke for itself

The timing! The timing. Wow. Just wow. These songs are almost impossible to reproduce live. Yet they do it with ease and grace. Just wow. Saw them three times in the eighties. Every time was a revelation. Seriously.

I'd be very impressed to hear anyone else, even a Yes tribute band, accurately have half the group playing in 7/8 and the other half in 7/4, simultaneously, as they do in the instrumental break. Then Howe starts going off entirely on his own towards the end, and finally they bring it all back together! Incredible concentration, and grooves too! My left brain is very impressed! ;-)

@@EidolonMedia indeed… despite the fact that the lyrics are about a very particular time in history.
“…saying we have the moon, so now the stars…” is a direct warning about man’s technological hubris in the wake of the Apollo missions (which were taking place when the song was written). Cheers!

If first saw Yes perform live at the Boston Garden in May 1979. It was my first concert and I was blown away. They did all the songs from Fragile, YesSongs, Going for the One, Perpetual change, Starship Trooper, Yours is No Disgrace and Round About. I say them again in the 1980's and Jon Anderson in 1990's. They are remarkably talented and wrote songs to push the limits of what they could do, make music mastery, not make pop songs. Forever in my heart - Yes!

Currently doing the Yes Live Marathon here on youtube. Howe is a big influence. But I suddenly realised something.. I was amazed by the lack of the " Yes purists" ! Quite nice not seeing " This is Not Yes! NO Bruford NO Kaye This Is NOT YES!" For the record, all line ups are great. Drama IS a great album! Long Live Yes!

Look at my comment above; What they did. with Mr. White's co-operation, was be faithful to the the studio version AND embellish. Who is the guy to the left of Mr. Squire? Drama IS a great album--"to be assured, you draw a graph."

@@magicalmystery1964 Well, is it true that Mr. Squire expressed--in words captured by film or video--that HE would like Yes to continue in perpetuity, that is, after the demise of founding members? I have a vague memory of SEEING such video. Many claim that he DID say such a thing. Have YOU seen/heard such a thing?

@@scherado01 The guy to the left of Chris is a young Billy Sherwood. The YES bass player now. When Chris new he was dying it was his wish that Billy take over the bass position. Billy Sherwood is a very talented multi Instrumentalist. Also produces. Chris Squire wanted YES to continue.
