Totally agree!! I miss this era so much, everyone just having fun on the dance floor enjoying the music!! This IS real music and it's a shame this generation missed it!
I remember when this joint first came out in 78 . i first heard it late at night out of a window in da bricks. I said oh'shit!!! This jam is LIVE. And it was so damn serious. The bass...we went straight to the crib of the person who was playing it. And i told him to play it again...4real. Dig It???
NOW THIS IS SOME SERIOUS FUNK RIGHT HERE! WHEN THINGS WERE FABULOUSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS! AND SAFE AND LOTS OF FUNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN!
There is no question that the standards were way higher in the 70s and 80s. After all, there was no auto-tune or sampling techniques to help you cheat (yes I consider sampling cheating). You had to have great command of your musical instrument and/or a great voice, and/or solid songwriting abilities, and/or good relative pitch or perfect pitch, before anyone would let you into a studio to make music for a living. As a result, the only people in studios making music for a living were real musicians - regardless of genre. Yes, I am a "disco boy" through and through. the songs were so full of love and joy, and everyone was welcome. Nobody was "insulting" or "threatening" anyone else in their music -
The song scared me too, I was only 12 when it came out, but the devil kept drawing me back to it over and over. Bass and funk were strong. Still holds up, still scares me.
The last decade in America when Men and Women danced together - touching, holding one another.

Facts! Couldn't have said it better.
I remember all the good music but I was way too young to go out to clubs but I went out to clubs in the 1980s and early 19990s
I believe this video was recorded at Pete & Lenny's in Ft Lauderdale, FL. I used to spin records there in my D-Jay days.
I love disco dancing.
I remember when I was 3 years old the song scared the crap out of me, the beat was nice though haha!
The song scared me too, I was only 12 when it came out, but the devil kept drawing me back to it over and over. Bass and funk were strong. Still holds up, still scares me.
