FOR ANY FL USERS: You can do the same thing in fl, it's just a little more complicated. Set up your chains in patcher, create a knob/slider and connect it to an envelope controller. You can use the articulators to draw in different x/y mapping shapes on each, to control the input signal to your fx chains (a fruity balance's vol knob usually). I've used it to make my own custom morph filters, it is worth the effort. Go have some fun
Your use of chain selector is absurdly creative. I always used them to change between instruments or blend between them but never crossed my damn mind to use multiple effects (or effect racks) and go to down with expression controls.
FL guy for the past... almost a decade. For the most part I've been able to apply the stuff he teaches into FL stuff or Phaseplant/Kilohearts products. After this last week though, I'm finally caving, there's so much to Ableton that I want to use that I can't get with what I have.
Honestly, producing videos get boring, but with your videos you are always doing something unique, its crazy, you and Au5 have great production videos its very in the lab, science expermenty feeling you guys do in your videos
The chain selector with velocity reminds me a little bit of the 303 behaviour where different velocity values trigger slides or ties between notes. Never thought about using fx chains this way. Thank you for sharing this :)
bro i have 14 years , i use ableton since i was 10 years old ... because of Virtual Riot i learn more then my father ... who used ableton live since the live 8 ... THANKY YOU SO MUCH
The random method, when you first start toying with redux, reminds me so much of Glitch2! Very rad that this is essentially a method of creating your own hyper-customizable version of that plugin with the ability to more or less link directly to synth parameters using velocity. Infinite applications for this one, thanks for sharing your knowledge as always!
I don’t even really make edm (singer/songwriter) but I love your content for finding interesting ways to create new sounds. And of course I love your music
I love your videos because not only do you show us cool techniques, but I get to study and learn from the way you THINK about your productions and how you teach yourself new techniques every day.
That's so cool. I knew you could use the chain selector to play different instruments but I'd never thought of using it for different effects. Definitely must try this out, thanks for the tutorial dude.
color bass sounds so close to some resonant oscillators that are trying to mimic wind - mutable instruments modules come to mind but this sounds so much better
swear ive been producing since 2016 n around 2019-2020 i hit a WALL. i see all these tutorials, techniques, and breakdowns and just cant seem to incorporate them into my tracks like i used to. I used to literally 1:1 remake projects and i remember learning soooo much, but now its so advanced idek what im doing as i replicate. maybe im just a big baby or maybe others can relate…
I really dig the minimal editing kinda vibe! I just feel like im on a zoom call where you show me cool stuff. Maybe this is the way? Like i dont need flashy animations and mega high quality when the core content is this good!
Man this is amazing. Im so lucky to be living in a time where our lord and savior is spreading so much knowledge. Honestly thank you from the bottom of my heart I’ve learned so much from you and I hope to make something that reaches your ears someday. ❤
I was wondering if you were also using expression control. Some really cool features in there, especially if you use it after an arpeggiator. Very glitchy rhythms possible with just a couple of clicks.
yesterday: "im not going to do daily uploads"
today: "i cant help it you guys this stuff is so cool i must show you"
Producer community is absolutely spoiled right now. Thank you so much for the gold, my guy!
He is a hero
With 3 VR videos and one from au5 in the past week, we are truly blessed
I’m in the producer community too ^^
I keep imagining Bitwig in Val's hand 👀
The work ethic to make this many tutorials this quick is insane. You are doing amazing work with these!
For FREE??? This community is so special

Thank you for that info m8. Working in FL. Gotta check that❤
@@TraxtasyMedia Thank you for the info. Do you have any recommendations for channels that have tutorials for this?
@@TheJackal1229 guess u tagged the wrong dude ;)
Patcher is king!
@kozacsaba any recommendations what to put inside the Patcher chain?
So you decided to just keep on revolutionizing EDM day for day now?
Your use of chain selector is absurdly creative. I always used them to change between instruments or blend between them but never crossed my damn mind to use multiple effects (or effect racks) and go to down with expression controls.
Absolutely loving the videos lately
love u man! Means a lot :)
I’m gonna have to buy ableton now
Do it!

@@seankelly3540 FL is great too, abletons just fun cause of the rack sharing and creativity people get making their racks
I used FL for about 6 years. Switched to Ableton maybe 4 years ago. Wish I'd done it sooner.@@seankelly3540

This is like watching someone play and explain modular synths but purely in Ableton - amazing!
This man cannot be stopped
You're on fire dude, SO much amazing stuff over the last few days!!!
I really wanna see VR go nuts in patcher in FL now lol. that would be terrifying
Don’t tell him about patcher
@@darkylythe has an FL licence and knows about the existence of patcher, *it is only a matter of time*

People who spent thousands on a modular rig screaming, crying, throwing up right now. But seriously, excellent job!
I don't know what else to comment. This quality stuff just keep coming.😮❤🤯
the amount of knowledge of these so far daily uploads is just insane
Mr. Bill just called: "lemme watch this and improve it by a few steps!"😂

Whoa @19:04! Blew my mind, I make too-big-to-adjust-everything-at-once patches all at the same time, I'll be using that often!

HA! That's how I automated some "DJ" transitions HPF+Reverb to the right and LPF+distortion to the left.
Cheers for the randomisation idea.
