Looks to smooth that's one reason I like the lightning collection they put ripples in the suit to make it like they are wearing a suit and not like it's part of their skin
It's good to hear some good news about the joints of Super7 action figures. I was getting a little worried about their quality. All action figure joints need to work properly. It's too bad about the human heads not looking quite right, but I normally display the helmeted heads anyway.
I think this guy turned out about as well as could be expected of the Ultimates brand, all except that ab crunch. My eyes are just drawn to it going back to the solicitations in 2021 and I just can't get over that they went with this thing. We've heard Brian say over and over how much he dislikes double-jointed knees and elbows and I've always maintained that's his right since it's his company. I just don't get how he could look at a double elbow and think it's too ugly for one of his figures, but then approve a giant hinge in the middle of a figure's torso. It's just so off-putting. I wish they used the same setup they went with on the female Rangers. This figure almost gets away with it by virtue of the shield, but it's going to look hideous on the rest of the crew.
Yeah, definitely agree. The overall sculpt looks off with that ab crunch joint. I feel like, for the price, these could be better. Green Ranger here looks kind of pudgy too because of the sculpt. The green looks off from the show as well (especially since Super7 goes for accuracy).
So one thing that I adore about the Rangers in this line (but I also believe may be somewhat detrimental) is that Super7 pulled from 4 different sources to create their look for these guys: 1 & 2). the Auto-Morphin' and Deluxe toy lines from the early 90's, 3). the TV show, of course, and 4). the Boom! Studios art style. You can see all of that in every Ranger in the line. I love it, but at the same time, I can definitely see it being detrimental. Sometimes, I wish they were pulling exclusively from the show, and mainly because I don't think we've ever gotten a completely TV accurate Green Ranger (ThreeZero's was the closest). That being said, Super7's line is amazing. Expensive, but amazing. I've been passing on line after line ever since the collector's era started, but this was the line I finally settled on for getting a complete set of the original Rangers. These definitely do not disappoint so far. Excellent review, sir!
There's something about the shield that just looks a little off to me. I can't tell if the diamond on the front is too big, or the smoothness of the rest of it. Either way, it's not as good as the lighting collection one
I am all in on ultimates tmnt and wanted to be on the power rangers too. Unfortunately, those human faces on super 7 products just suck. I can't do it. Goldar is a win, so that's cool.
That ab crunch just looks bad. It's the main issue I have with most Hasbro figures. Just have a straight cut right below the chest with a ball joint. NECA has been doing that for over a decade, and while you can't crunch as far, it looks so much better.
Finally own this figure now, and in person it’s amazing. It feels closer to a homage to the original figure rather than the show…and honestly that’s what I’d prefer. This is currently my favourite green ranger next to figuarts and threezero!
Have you guys seen the upcoming White ranger head sculpts. They seem to have a way better likeness and they also have shading. Definitely going to get that one when it comes out.
I just ordered mine recently luckily I won't be having the helmet off as the head sculpts look meh although it's more in line with the comics. I'll take the trade off of being able to have a green ranger without people gouging him a bit due to Jason David Frank's passing
Great review Toybro! What’s interesting to me is how much I love the packaging in this line. The nostalgia is there with it and made me wish Hasbro would have done something like it for their figures
Green Ranger is my favorite. I was happy to see him in the Ultimates line. He looks good. The helmet looks great and I prefer the shade of green that they used compared to the Hasbro Lightning Collection. I love that they added arms without the bands and the retro shield that fits the figure. No bands and the glossy clip on shield looks like the 8 inch figure from 1993.
From what I saw is Super 7 is supposed to be capturing a comic book likeness in the face sculpt as compared to the Lighting Collection which is capturing the Live Action sculpts. This is how both lines can exist and not over lap as much. Similar to how Neca and Super 7 both do turtles or Super 7 and Hasbro both do GI joe. Same figures but a different model for the sculpts and face likenesses.
Good vid. Kind of bummed you only mentioned the dagger fitting in the sheath. Wish you would have shown that. I got mine today and my dagger looks weird in its holster and the top loop isn't attached on the backside. Trying to figure out if that's how it's supposed to be.
I bought one of these hoping to replace my lightning collection green ranger but I just can't get him in the flute playing position. A double elbow might have helped more. Surprisingly in the lightning collection one it's possible to get the dagger close to his mouth. The Close as I can get is just kind of tricking it with perspective camera angles. Unless I'm doing something wrong
Exactly where did you get your figures from? Because I’m not seeing it available in big bad toy store? Either way the green ranger for super seven is OK, but I’m just gonna stick with the lightning collection green ranger
He’ll be a zyuranger on my shelf so I’m not too concerned with the head. Definitely a superior option to lightning collection but at twice the price that’s expected
I do not like that shield at all. The diamond rests too low. Plus, the shield's width is slightly too narrow and too slanted. Granted, the stunt variant did rest on the shoulders at an angle to conform with the wearer's trapezius muscles, but here it comes off too exaggerated. Outside of that, it's not a terrible figure.
I can't figure out why they wouldn't do the diaphragm cut for yellow and not this one. But for whatever reason, I love this one. the look is great. I still think Mezco is going to end up being the winner for me (given the price, it should be!)
Nice review! The unmasked head sculpts are so badly painted, but I’m still glad I ordered this one. The comparison shot of Hasbro and Super7 really shows how good the figure looks.
The accessories are easily the best aspect of this figure. Otherwise, it’s good but not great. I am getting ready to start a Power Rangers figure collection and I was waiting to see reviews of the first Super7 wave to decide if I wanted to collect them or the Hasbro line. Well after seeing the reviews, it’s an easy decision for me to go with Hasbro. The upcoming MMPR Remastered figures are likely to be superior to these and they will be significantly cheaper.
Thos heads and the articulation is horrible... It's everything I thought it would be & I'm still disappointed as I wanted to like these & buy them, but S7 just sucks.
Agree with all said, just I would add that these legs are shapeless, calves muscles are not existant, while the hips are wierdly shaped, too. Overall, a quality peace.
After seeing this video I'm definitely canceling my orders. Those face sculpts suck ass. Not to mention I'm getting tired of Super 7 promoting figures with great quality in their pictures, but when the product comes out the paint and rhe figures are just filled with QC issues.
I have the Legacy Green Ranger and it looks better than this guy. Much less accessories of course but I don't think it's really worth the extra $30. Especially those goofy looking heads.
This should be $10 lmao, paint on the helmet is the only good thing, the only thing that is better than Hasbro. Can't judge Hasbro for bumping up their prices if people throw $55 for garbage like Super 7😮💨
That unmasked head. Holy smokes.
"Stop noticing things and give us your $55." - Super 7 probably
Looks to smooth that's one reason I like the lightning collection they put ripples in the suit to make it like they are wearing a suit and not like it's part of their skin
I think that 4 years later Super7 has not been able to offer us a better job than the one done by Bandai.
What a disappointment for that price.

Thank you for being one of the people to address that these are meant to depict the sentai suit actors.
I am all in on ultimates tmnt and wanted to be on the power rangers too. Unfortunately, those human faces on super 7 products just suck. I can't do it. Goldar is a win, so that's cool.
That face paint is so bad compared to the renders that Super7 should be accused of false advertising.
Yeah it’s a bit disappointing but in person the evil Tommy head sculpt is amazing
@@ramb0402 no it isn't
@@dogsofgore7708 do you own the figure ?
I think you just did, my friend! Lol
It's horrifying isn't it?
That ab crunch just looks bad. It's the main issue I have with most Hasbro figures. Just have a straight cut right below the chest with a ball joint. NECA has been doing that for over a decade, and while you can't crunch as far, it looks so much better.
Best display piece in mmpr, green is my favorite one of the line.
I'm not going to lie I'd love Super7 to make a Dino Thunder version of the Green Ranger suit.
The green with evil head is pretty cool

His articulations are better than the Thundercats Ultimates.

That helmet is painted really nice. Some things about this figure are awesome and some things are just meh.

Those joints are wayyyy too ugly for Super7 to be saying they don't do double knees/elbows because they're ugly...
Exactly where did you get your figures from? Because I’m not seeing it available in big bad toy store? Either way the green ranger for super seven is OK, but I’m just gonna stick with the lightning collection green ranger
Super7 sends him free stuff.
Its at BBTS now.
He’ll be a zyuranger on my shelf so I’m not too concerned with the head. Definitely a superior option to lightning collection but at twice the price that’s expected
I think with butterfly joints & thigh swivel would have made it perfect.

Super 7 still can't get human head right. Damn shame.
What's the height comparison between this and the lightning collection? 6'-7'. ???
Nice review! The unmasked head sculpts are so badly painted, but I’m still glad I ordered this one. The comparison shot of Hasbro and Super7 really shows how good the figure looks.
Can’t Wait for them to do Pumpkin Rapper
Does anyone know if super7 will continue this line beyond mmpr? Like doing in space, lost galaxy, dino thunder etc?
Am with you on the crunch i dont like it either and how it stands out pluse i dont like how the shild is short on the sides
The accessories are easily the best aspect of this figure. Otherwise, it’s good but not great. For Jason David Frank💚🙏.
they did him dirty lol
Great review, dude! The Bicep swivel is a bummer but overall this looks like a great pickup! 💚
Looks like bandai in 1993 masters the figure and 30 years later no one can make a better one
Oriental Tommy 😩
Those head sculpt..... Yikes! Lightning looks better face wise... But all in all the S7 looks better
I call ‘em dragon ball eye brows
Great review as always, I think I’m just going to go ahead and get the entire wave now. BBTS need to hurry and get that shipment in asap lol
I have to say, your orange background really makes the spindly limbs stand out to me even more on the figure. It comes off very inhuman to me.
Just got mine in the mail. Better than lightning collection
The shild could of been out a little more
The shield looks awful. It's not avcurate at all. shoulders of it are droopy and the diamond is too big. The ab joint is also ugly.
Meh.

I’m very disappointed with this figure. It has the same poor quality of a dc direct figure…. And you have to pay attention for not break it.
Come on man...why is the face sculpt so bad??? Its reallyyyy bad. They should have done an honor for JDF!
This should be $10 lmao, paint on the helmet is the only good thing, the only thing that is better than Hasbro. Can't judge Hasbro for bumping up their prices if people throw $55 for garbage like Super 7😮💨
