I received my Henson Ti22 +++ yesterday and used it for the first time today, WOW. I had a 5 day growth and a baby face smooth was very easy to achieve. I can definitely tell the difference. I also have the AL13 in both +++ and ++. The ++ is now back in the rack. My rotation is now the Ti22 +++, Henson AL13 in +++, Two Rockwell Adjustable's and an Alpha Outlaw Evolution. I will probably move the Outlaw into number 2. I may not even rotate any of them. GREAT RAZOR! GEO, I alway enjoy your videos and watch them many times before I make up my mind.🤠
Almost 500 videos and almost 100k subscribers, you come a long way! The video / audio quality, the sound effects along with the transitions and the intro / outro, everything is on spot, congratulations, it's a pleasure to watch your videos!
I hate shaving and that's why I love my Henson AL13 Medium razor. It's a precision power tool. I love how it quickly removes my coarse dense beard, even when I go a week without shaving as I often do. I get a closer shave than a cartridge razor in a little less time. I also like how the AL13 quickly clears the lather and stubble, keeping the blade edge clear.
It's amazing how you can summon beard growth on command geo ! ? What a great superpower to have and what a great shave ! These Henson razors are fantastic!
It’s a good job that superpower doesn’t work the other way around or we wouldn’t have any need to shave or to watch Geofatboy’s wonderful shave videos !!

Question: you have some colored henson razors, when they get scratches do they show the metal underneath the colored coating? Because I'd like to buy the black henson but I'm worried about the durability, should I buy the "clear uncoated aluminum" instead?
Thank you for this review. I like this razor very much based on yours and other’s reviews her on TH-cam, accept for the following: I wonder why there is no stainless steel version of this safety razor? I find that the titanium version to be understandably, very expensive due to Ti raw materials and the prices and it being harder to machine. I find that anodized aluminum over time (especially when subjected to prolong water and chemicals exposure) starts to flake the color. Is the silver in color aircraft aluminum AL13 finished with a clear coat or will it pit after years of usage?
Curious if you had tried the medium or mild before buying the aggressive? I’m going to order the ti22 but torn between the medium and aggressive (tried and returned the mild AL-13).
@@jordanpogon5512 I'd say jump for the aggressive. Henson tolerances are pretty tight. Less variance = consistently less blade feel, so even with more blade gap compared to other razors, you should get less blade feel. Every manufacturer's definiton of what mild/medium/aggressive is, is different, but Henson seems to lean towards narrow for blade gap, while still being efficient. It's hard to explain, but the blade pitch is obviously more pronounced on Henson heads.
I was scared to go to aggressive with the ti22 I just stuck with the medium especially with the last against the grain pass I didn’t want to risk getting razor burn with a almost 300 dollar razor
@@jordanpogon5512 still was feeling the burn for a while, after about 5 or 6 shaved in 1 month my face finally started to be conditioned and I barely have any irritation use the Nivea sensitive pro balm which also helps a lot
@@jordanpogon5512I just bought the medium and I’m waiting for it in the mail as my first DE razor. I figure if it feels too mild then I can always try out some feather blades. Almost every single bad review was about the mild being too mild. People seem to be fine with the closeness of the medium and aggressive.
You were good, as always. Now, when you sell some pretty expensive razors, Ti22 is 250$, you could continue with MURAMASA TATARA ADJUSTABLE RAZOR, it is just a bit more expensive than Hanson Ti22, it is 329$. I am really curious what you will say about this nice piece of the razor.
This wasn't really a comparison of the Ti22 and the AL13. It was a comparison of Henson's aggressive and mild razors, so naturally the aggressive razor gave a closer shave. The fair comparison would be the Medium razor in both Ti22 and AL13, and the results would have almost certainly been the same.
The AL13 V2 has the same blade geometries but it rounded over the corners so there are no corners banging on the face when shaving and put subtle finger and thumb concavities on the ends of the razor head to make loading blades a bit easier. The upgrades were refinements for comfort and convenience. The basic shaving performance is the same.
@@Liberty4Evergood to know. There’s a local shop selling Henson I can grab tomorrow. From pictures it may be original, maybe not. Its website says design may have change. Also shows some colours Henson doesn’t make anymore.
But to me a razor made of titanium seems a bit overkill. Guess stainless steel will last for lifes too. And there is always someone still managing to break it.
Great shave showdown, no question which one was the victor.. The Ti version must be really nice to use, aluminum is ok BUT! TOBS quality comes through again. Thanks Geo, well done. Enjoy!

The blade geometry on the V2 of the AL13 razor is the same. The upgrade was for minor ergonomics when loading blades and to eliminate the sharper corners on the razor head that might bump the nose and be a bit uncomfortable. The upgrades are subtle comfort and convenience features. The blade geometry is the same and the shaves should be the same.
Titanium is overkill for a razor and way too expensive. You compared the AL13 in mild against the Ti22 in aggressive, obviously the aggressive would be a closer shave, but had nothing to do with it being titanium. Why didn't you compare them with the same shaving profiles?

RK blades seem to have a bad reputation on-line...it's 10$ for 100 blades, an they work good with the Henson, one shave, one blade done, good value.
