Love Alistair! Loved each property. Might have to watch again! Hope they got the mystery house. No one ever seems to buy these types of properties when they are shown on the show.
I would choose the 1st combined cottages, although I enjoyed aspects of all 3. The stone steps of the stairs, & the unique features with land. Peaceful.😊
"You should just always bring people to renovated Victorian asylums, that's the answer." This has to be the funniest line ever on ETTC! What a joy to share in the obvious joy and excitement of this couple as they discovered the mystery house. They also loved house number two, which, it's true had amazing views from the many windows. I also loved the quaintness of the first property. All in all, one of my most enjoyable episodes.
Even though I thought the exterior of house 2 was a little *too* 80s, the jaw dropping interior *more* than made up for it. I might have felt a little heeby-jeeby about the history of that development, but the mystery was probably the *best* of that kind I've seen on the show. It was undoubtedly opulent, yet still homely. Great show.
What a nice couple, I wish them well! I've enjoyed this episode very much! Although none of the houses made my heart beat faster, they were all very unique and had fantastic views! Thanks for sharing!🙂
I don't care for modern houses in general, but I'd move into house #2 in a heartbeat. The views are astounding! I'd forget what I was doing because I'd constantly be sidetracked by the view. I like the mystery house, but the gardens wouldn't be my own to design, dig up, and plant. I would want to own the land, which of course, you don't. It's a condo when all's said and done.
#3 comes with free ghosts of mental patients! that is a given not a maybe but as long as you know a good medium to move them on you can live there happily. lol
You invite Jesus in and all is good!🙌 Look! I stand at the door and knock. If you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in, and we will share a meal together as friends. - Revelation 3:20
The mystery house looks a lot like the hospital that author Bill Bryson worked at, and where he met his wife, but that hospital, Holloway Sanatorium, is in Surrey. It too has been converted into houses and apartments. I liked House #2 with its great views from the windows, light and airy and spacious and unique.
If I could just get a quick phone call (“Hello… I’ll let you get back to it, then!”) from Alistair on a regular basis…. my soul would be peaceful and full of joy 🎉❤
ok uploader please tell me if you are deleting the part of the show where they tell us if the people bought the house they wanted or is it just that NOT a Single episode in this season has it included at the end? so far 6 episodes from season 18 and not a single one mentions whether they bid on it or bought it like in every other season. its quite disappointing!
Once the presenter says apply to "be on a show", you know there will be no more information. The chances are that negotiations are ongoing, or the buyers have chosen not to go public on a sale.
I don’t understand having a shower room by the kitchen when the bedrooms are upstairs. There are bathrooms upstairs so would you take a shower downstairs? Curious American!
There’s no way “Missy” would live in house # 1 - Clearly not up to her standard. She looked like she was about to die and was screaming inside “get me out of here please” 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣So funny. I wonder if anyone else noticed that.
Laughed so hard when he said No2 was 'architect designed' with that lopsided frontage LOL Mystery house was very beautiful but in a Victorian asylum??? Yeah big no thanks for me, I could feel the vibes through the screen...
The house number 2 was amazing!!!
The mystery house is a flat with a lot of neighbours and bad history!!!!

This was one of my favorite episodes!!
Wishing good luck to the lovely couple!!
The trees in this area are magnificent, couldn't stop staring at them!
Alistair, you made me laugh aloud with your comment about showing "a Victorian asylum." Thanks for that😊

Hope they ended up there it was very regal. Sweet couple. I would be worried about the maintenance and heating bills though

Yeah, the exterior of #2 seemed dull until you walked inside.
Loved the mystery house but would have chosen #2.
I was sold on house #2.....until i saw the mystery house. Wowza!
What a nice couple, I wish them well!

@bluelady263, my thought, exactly!
No. 2 hands down. As retirees the last thing they need is a home with staircases to get upstairs as in the last property. Plus neighbors.

I ADORED house number 2 ❤

👍👍👍 Real full episode including end credits. Every episode of Escape To The Country should be of this audio, visual and editing quality.
Thanks for the upload ☺

Who cares?
@@katecrossrhodes 😂😂😂
I shouldn't but I do get very angry when buyers who specifically wanted a DETACHED property are shown something not at all DETATCHED!
I just love Alistair!

Why would you pick a apartment if you are escaping to the country???? Yuck

Is “Q” The Queen?
Hated #2. As soon as I hear “modern”, I completely lose interest.
I was amused that the woman called House #1 "higgledy piggeldy", but was unfazed by all the different windows and such in the modern one !
I actually was thinking it was higgledy piggeldy too, so I know what she means.@@trilliarobinson7862
