Mt. Nangtud is the second highest peak in Panay Island. It stands 2074 meters above sea level. The third highest mountain the Visayas and one the toughest climb in the Philippines. It has a trail difficulty of 8/9, Trail Class 1-4.
It features River Crossings, Scenic Ridges and Mossy forest.
The name Nangtud is a local language that means “hard to reach”
Nangtud was explored in the 1970’s with the efforts of Governor Evelio B. Javier who was said to have personally led the expedition. The Antique Mountaineering Society named the EBJ Peak as preparatory peak to the summit.
