  • Mt. Pulag, the 3rd highest peak in the Philippines, has opened its doors again to hikers after a tragic forest fire a month prior. So we took the opportunity despite the intense heat in the country. This time we took one of its difficult trails - the Akiki Trail. This one is often called "the killer trail" because of its long steep paths and non-stop assault to get to each campsite. During summer it is extra tough because of the heat factor, the bags on our backs, and fewer water sources along the way. we knew the challenges but we decided to push through.
The locals call this place The Playground of their Gods and it's easy to see why. My video does not give it justice. You have to try and hike it yourself. I hope this silent film encourages you to.
