Okey so I have a complexe question : Is this type of relation is reserved for Aromantic/Asexual relationship ? For example, I'm bisexual, I had ( and I still have ! ) romantic/sexual relationship with both gender. But one time, a special relationship with one of my friend bothering me in a special way. (The first time of my life) We were very close, some friend thought we were in couple but no (It's just her !). Until the day I found out this word. I told her and she pretty agreed with me. So, Can I be have queerplatonic relationship while being as before in a romantic relationship with other ? Sorry that was long.
Layla Keth yeah you can! Anyone of any orientation or gender can be in a qpp. We just ask that you have a good understanding of the word since it's a relatively new term, was created by a small, largely invisible group even within the lgbt+ community and because of this it is all too often laughed at as not being a real thing. I say this because if someone asks you guys what a qpp is, you'll essentially be speaking on behalf of the aromantic community who built the term and is choosing to let you use it. And it'd be great if when you have to be our voice you could, you know, get it right for both of our sakes! Aros/arospec ppl are tired of being dismissed, they're tired of their words and relationships being dismissed and I'm sure you don't want your relationship to be dismissed either. So yeah, go ahead as long as you're respectful about it and are willing to be an ally in case someone tries to dismiss it whether that may be saying it's just a normal friendship, a romantic relationship or just plain doesnt exist (and you're just making up words, blahblahblah). I'm sure that as someone bi, you can understand the struggle of being dismissed as not real or people saying that you must pick a side cause there is no other choice, no fluidity. Just thought I'd give you a heads up about this stuff. solidarity tastes sweet! :) -an aromantic person
UPDATE: I've been seeing a lot of comments questioning pronoun usage throughout the film and about the actors. I should have specified initially and it's my apology that I did not. In this film, Evelyn uses she/her pronouns, while the actor (Adeline) uses they/them pronouns. Riley uses they/them pronouns in the film, while the actor (AJ) uses he/him pronouns. I'm sorry if that's a bit confusing, but it gives you guys a better reference point to refer to the individuals and it gives them their respectable pronouns. I just wanted to thank you all for the sweet comments :) I never expected the comments or views when I posted this. My intent was most definitely to educate and also represent through this film, and I'm so glad that it's done so for some of you. You are all loved 💜 I have included some educational resources in the description box for anyone that has any questions :)
Mercedes this Is so beautiful. I have never sedm a short film about ace people. Its just lesbians or gay guys. So this Is amazing. Im not ace Im gay but I love to see representation of other sexualities. So thank you.😍😍😍
I've started doubting myself for a while now on whether I'm aromatic asexual, so I've come back to watch this. I've never felt Sexual attraction but I've often felt funny when reading sexual things, even though the idea of sex scares me I'm also not sure about aromantic. About 2 years ago before I even knew what Aro and ace was, I had what I thought was a crush on a guy. When he asked me out I was happy but uncomfortable at the same time. He started to hold my hand and once even kissed me. I felt really uncomfortable and didn't know what do do and I thought something was wrong with me. Now, I have what I believe is a squish on one of my best friends, who is bi and poly. I feel happy when she ruffles my hair and stuff when we share a joke. But this is what's making me question it more. I don't know if I'm bi, Aro, or just enjoying having a friend who cares about me. If there's anyone who's going through something similar or can help in anyway please let me know, thanks :)
I am a lesbian.. yet still wanted to give you a lil advice.. don't overthink stuff.. don't try to label things.. n then get all mixed up cuz you ran out of labels.. if you insist on a label, buy a bag of your favorite nibblies.. go to the nearest tattoo shop n ask them to copy the barcode on your buns.. for the rest just follow your feelings.. n love yourself..
One of my cis friends told me that romantic attraction is the intent you have, not really a specific feeling, he also said that “you just know”, not sure if that helps but I’ve been in the same situation with the same feelings so I understand, gl solider!
This is kinda a late reply but I get what your saying I'm ace and I can't tell if I'm aro or pan because the lines between what is platonic and what is romantic confuses me but from what I researched, it seams like romantic is the desire to go on a date with someone and do things that are considered romantic such as kissing, holding hands ect. so usually when your aromantic you do not feel that desire towards anyone or are sometimes repulsed by it. There are cases where u can have strong platonic attractions towards someone which like you said is defined as a squish. Which would be the desire to have a strong relationship with someone kinda like being best friends but a little bit more and with out all the romantic stuff. So basically more than friends but less than romantic partners. I would say look at what you are feeling for that person is it like they are really cool I feel the desire to kiss them/go on a date ect. or like they are really cool I want to hang out with them a lot. If that makes sense. This was pretty long but I hope this helped :)
@Ratchel Burt This is like 2 years later, but I personally identify as Ace and Aro and thought I might be able to give you some insight. Anyways, it's completely valid if you feel funny or even enjoy reading sexual stuff or things similar to that. Asexual simply means you don't experience sexual attraction, but you could still enjoy sex or sexual things. There are even asexuals who will have sex and enjoy it. As for aromanticism, I'm kind of in the same boat. It's difficult to tell between platonic feelings and romantic feelings for. There's a term for this called platoniromantic (if you're curious). Other than that, I discovered what I felt was more of a squish/platonic) because I got closer to the people I felt this way about and becoming good friends with them sort of satisfied the feeling I was experiencing. Also remember, there are different types of reaction so it's completely valid to be attracted to someone sensually, platonically, emotionally, aesthetically, and more! I hope that helped!
A wattpad writer I follow named Carolyn Hill portrays a queerplatonic relationship in one of her scifi books and calls the couples "quartners" (queer partners). I love that term so much
Love this!!! Also love the way you film them cuddling because platonic cuddling is my own kryptonite haha. I cuddle with my best friend all the time and we have an ongoing joke that the entire school thinks we're dating because we always hold hands and stuff haha. Thanks for this
IM CRYING THIS IS TOO CUTE ❤️ Im ace and just got into a qpr with my long time squish yesterday. Actually watching this while making us matching friendship bracelets with the qp flag on them. I love my zucchini💛 “now I get to call you my little zucchini” is actually exactly what they said when I told them about that term so thank you for this beautiful film omg
Thank you so much for making this. It’s the first video like this I’ve seen dealing with asexuality and aromantasism so far. I was able to connect with these characters more than I have been able to connect with any other characters and it’s helping bring asexually more in to the open and normalizing it. This has really helped me accept myself more for who I am.
This is actually the sweetest video, I love it! There isn't nearly enough ace representation, especially when it comes to platonic relationships between aromatics. Even though I'm pansexual, I'd still totally date an asexual, or be partners with an aromantic. Affection isn't always dependent on sex and dates. Thanks for this adorable video 😍
I love this film!!!!! I usually only find transgender or gay one, so I was happy to see another part of the lgtbq getting a film! Btw I see nothing wrong with transgender films and gay films, I mean that we don't see many films that actually explore the + in the lgtbq community.
When I clicked on this video I thought it was gonna be a gay film, because of the word zuchinni and the dumb emoji. What I got was something new and refreshing and it was cool learning about ace. IDK people why I love watching these films, I have a boyfriend he lives across the country, and when I do get the chance to meet him I will definitely kiss his cute little face. This film was great, I use to think people who were Ace didn't want anyone at all to love, but it turns out they just don't like to physically touch each other or are not physically attracted. (Should have known everyone wants love, at least I think they do) This film should win an Emmy and I'm not over exxagerating.
there are loveless aros too. not everybody wants love, but aces, aros, CAN be in a relationship if they want to as well. but its important to realise that there are all kinds of people who wants all kinds of different things in life
I swear I make up at least a portion of the views on this video. I've been watching this video since I found it a few years back. Every time I start having trouble with my aro ace identity I come back here and it comforts me. I watched this video longing to be in a QPR, and then I finally got in one. The QPR ended up ending a few months back. As I was reading "Loveless" by Alice Oseman, I was reminded of this short film. Man this video always gets me in my feels and helps me to feel comfortable with my identities.
This is so cute! Thank you for making an ace short film. It seems like most queer short films are about romance, so it was such a refreshing perspective to see a QPP and bring awareness to that term because most people (myself included until now) do not know that there's an official term for a platonic partnership. This is amazing representation for the ace/aro community. Keep up the good work!!!! 💜🖤❤️ 💚💛🖤
I like how this isn't just about your typical gay couple. It's about asexuals which you never typically see in short films. It's also just so adorable!
Okay, this is the cutest thing in the world. Personally, I love the zucchini petname!! I've actually recently been struggling with wanting to ask my "best friend" to be my qpp, or to try like a date type thing for that context... but I'm really nervous about it too. Anyway this is just so beautiful, I love it so much!
This was not the turn I thought this film was going to take, but I am so glad it was! This is the first short film I’ve seen where ace people are the main characters and focus, and I think you did I really good job 💛
I wasn't sure what I was clicking on when this showed up in my recommendations... but this is literally exactly what I needed to see tonight! Thanks for making this :)
Oh my gosh this is literally so perfect!! I'm so upset I didn't find this sooner this is literally everything I want in a short film as I'm also an aroace comics fan!! Thank you for making this!!!
This is really cute. I feel like a lot of people wouldn’t wanna watch it cause it has an unusual title, but I wanted to watch it cause I don’t judge by titles. And it was adorable. Thanks for this 💙💙💙
I just saw it recommended to me in the algorithm and I saw Zucchini as the title and I immediately knew what it meant because I've been in the ace community and blogosphere for a decade ish and. I mean I couldn't be sure till I clicked that it really was this kind of zucchini but. I was so relieved to find it is.
Sooo I'm quite relieved actually, after watching this 'cause like,, I was reaaaally unsure of if I really am aromantic or if I still feel romantic attraction and this short movie just confirmed it. Like they say aromantic ppl don't fall in love, but there's this person who I like a lot, but I couldn't see myself 'going out' with them. Although I really appreciate the time we spend together and uhh,, I do want them to feel the same way. Hhhh idk how to explain it but yeah, I guess I kinda uhhh seek? A queerplatonic relationship? W them? Even if it's not official, often I like,, really feel like hugging them bc I rlly like them but idk if that's alright w them And uh yeah Now I know what I want so uhh Thanks for making this!
Maybe you have a squish :) It’s kind of like a platonic (or quasi-platonic/semi-platonic) crush. Like you want to be close to them and maybe be in a qpp with them but don’t want to date them. Maybe that term would work for your situation! Whether it does or not I wish you the best of luck!
i used to watch this when i was sixteen and realising i was on the ace and aro spectrums. now im twenty and this short film is still so important to me. i think when we're ace, aro and otherwise queer there can be the temptation to quiet down that part of ourselves because it feels unimportant or just like a lack of something. but ive been getting a little closer to my aro ace identities again recently and it was lovely to rewatch this.
this was really good for me! cuz im a COMPLETE hopeless romantic and i always wondered how life is for ace and aro people! idk this just really helped me kind of understand that lifestyle, and it's beautiful. anyway amazing film, i hope to see more like it! ^~^
Thank you! I'm glad that it could give you some insight into ace/aro relationships! I always love providing content that entertains and educates people. I'm hoping to work on more projects in the future !
Walking Dead is a great series - agreed Relentlessly grim ... interesting film and great to get the topic in a short film Very cool and Zucchini is an awesomely cute
Kat Nyamute The proper term for people you are not sure of the gender is "they." Believe it or not, "he/she" can be offensive in some situations. I know you weren't trying to be mean, I'm just giving you a heads up. And yes they did
Fun fact: Cole Sprouse originally wanted his character in the Riverdale to be ace like Archie originally was in the comics! :) unfortunately Hollywood didn't follow through, but hopefully someday ace characters will be more present in the media
I have hidden my asexuality because I never fell in love and I fell in love once with a bad person for me and the second one, I am dating☺️ he says it’s okay to express who I am so I really enjoyed this film and it helped me find myself more
I can't get over how cute this video is. I don't even have words for how cute this is. The characters and their relationship is just adorable. I just want to hug them. They are so cute.
I’m only three minutes in and when Evelyn introduced herself im like AHHHHHHHH EVELYN AND RILEY just like in less is morgue (eve isn’t ace in that podcast but still) exciting and comforting to see the character similarities.
heidkfksjzjsns RHIS IS SUCH AN AMWESOME SHORT FILM!! honestly i always see aromanticim represented as like, "i hate romance please don't touch me" and while that's definitely how some aromantic people feel like, ive never felt like that i always doubted myself because i enjoyed holding hands and cuddling, and romance culture is pretty neat, but ive never felt any romantic feelings, nor need for them (except when i thought that the only way you could be emotionally attached to a friend is if you had a crush on them lmaoo) god it makes me feel so happy when physically affection aroace people ANDAND qpr/qpp's are represented!!!
This being in my recommendations because I've been watching a lot of LGBT short films lately. But this made me really happy because I wasn't expecting the aroace representation. This was really good though. I love it.
I really liked this and thought it was an awesome film. It really helped me understand ACE people more and explained everything very well. It was super cute!
I'm French (sorry if i write errors) and i LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE it !!!!!!! I'm ace and aro, it's the first movie about the subject I see, it's absolutely FANTASTIIIIIIIIIIIIC !!!!!!
I am about to cry! This is what I needed today. I’m Ace and Demiromantic and my mom just told me that there will be a day I want to you know with a person. I feel like she wasn’t listening. She is typically supportive but it kind of hurt for her not to listen. I feel broken sometimes and today was one of those days. I feel broken for not having those feelings and that I can be romantically attracted to people although it has to be with a person I am really close too. I don’t like to tell friends I am attracted to them when it does happen so I don’t ruin relationships. This made me think things could get better🙂
When she said jughead from archie i gasped. I didn't know he was ace because i love the show riverdale! and in the show he dates a girl named betty. it's a really cute film though
Asexual is like a friendship with benefits ie hugging, kissing, caressing, dancing, etc etc . Far better chance of it being long term than if sex was involved.
Very lovely and underrated I love how someone made an AroAce Short film 💜💜💜💜🥺🤗 im also AroAce I prefer being single and not have any type of relationship but this is very Cute and amazing I hope more people make short films like this 💜💜💜💜🌈🏳️🌈 amazing 💜
All I have to say is that this is amazing, and I wish I had found it sooner. Love feeling/seeing representation that resonates with me (as well as others).
I promoted this short film amongst a number of other TH-cam videos that discuss Queerplatonic Relationships in my newest video on my channel! Thanks so much for this short film! :)

Layla Keth yeah you can! Layla Keth Of course you can! Qpps are for everyone who wants one!!
@Ben Hart zuccini is spesifically for QPPs not Romantic relationships.

EVELYN IS SO FREAKING ADORABLE❤️🧡💛💚💙💜
I love you 😘💕❤️
💞💞This was so cute "and I get to call you my little Zucchini" it's relatable too!💞💞
A lot of Lgbt mini movies have food names. *I'm hungry* 😫
The dark mark tattoo!!!!
Voldamort Voldemort oh Volde Volde Volde Voldemort
AHHHHHH YOU NOTICES TOO
You saw it too ......Harry Potter for life my people
I love how riley is always sleeping they're such a mood lmao
also this makes my heart happy
I like how this isn't just about your typical gay couple. It's about asexuals which you never typically see in short films. It's also just so adorable!
Okay, this is the cutest thing in the world. Personally, I love the zucchini petname!! I've actually recently been struggling with wanting to ask my "best friend" to be my qpp, or to try like a date type thing for that context... but I'm really nervous about it too. Anyway this is just so beautiful, I love it so much!
Twilit Dragon Wait, what’s a qpp?
I identify as Shrek Queer Platonic Partner.
@@thegayest2984 It's what this video is about....
How did it go?
Finally! A short film about the A in LGBTQ+ community! 😁😁
This was not the turn I thought this film was going to take, but I am so glad it was! This is the first short film I’ve seen where ace people are the main characters and focus, and I think you did I really good job 💛
Loll i had subtitles on and when Evelyn said “i’m ace too!” it said that they said “i’m a stew!” 😆
funny
JUGHEAD’S ACE?!? WHAT?!
Elizabeth C. That’s exactly what I was thinking! I was like “Whaaaaaaaaaaattt!!”😲😂
In the comics he is
in the comic, not in riverdale :)
Why do you think he loves food so much (the comic not the show)
Ik what🤔
I wasn't sure what I was clicking on when this showed up in my recommendations... but this is literally exactly what I needed to see tonight! Thanks for making this :)
the ending was sooo cute!😍😍 also I like the girl's blue hair so gorgeous.💗
Razie582002 rapmonster
Kim Nunjoon
Ikr!!! I was a tiny bit upset when she ended up being ace BC she's really cute uwu
Sooo
I'm quite relieved actually, after watching this
'cause like,, I was reaaaally unsure of if I really am aromantic or if I still feel romantic attraction and this short movie just confirmed it.
W them? Even if it's not official, often I like,, really feel like hugging them bc I rlly like them but idk if that's alright w them
And uh yeah
Now I know what I want so uhh
Thanks for making this!
Ohmygod thatwaslongerthanexpected
Maybe you have a squish :) It’s kind of like a platonic (or quasi-platonic/semi-platonic) crush. Like you want to be close to them and maybe be in a qpp with them but don’t want to date them. Maybe that term would work for your situation! Whether it does or not I wish you the best of luck!
i used to watch this when i was sixteen and realising i was on the ace and aro spectrums. now im twenty and this short film is still so important to me. i think when we're ace, aro and otherwise queer there can be the temptation to quiet down that part of ourselves because it feels unimportant or just like a lack of something. but ive been getting a little closer to my aro ace identities again recently and it was lovely to rewatch this.
this is what we need. aces being super close but just friends and that being okay. thank you for making this
I get recommended LGBT short films on TH-cam quite often. This is the first with a QPP that I've seen. Very nice. ^-^
anyone else notice her socks when she's laying down?!😂 6:57
Not my crying at the first 15 seconds because I AM STARVED FOR REPRESENTATION!
Omfg at the end I nothist the name of this SHORT FILM I WAS TOO INTO THE FILM I DIDN'T NOTHIST THE NAME?!🤣
TheSilentSeacker 360 noticed
I love this so much! Thanks for representation of not only Ace people but Aromantic people as well! This was so lovely and well- informed 💜💚
this was really good for me! cuz im a COMPLETE hopeless romantic and i always wondered how life is for ace and aro people! idk this just really helped me kind of understand that lifestyle, and it's beautiful. anyway amazing film, i hope to see more like it! ^~^
Thank you! I'm glad that it could give you some insight into ace/aro relationships! I always love providing content that entertains and educates people.
I'm hoping to work on more projects in the future !
Walking Dead is a great series - agreed
Relentlessly grim ...
interesting film and great to get the topic in a short film
Very cool and Zucchini is an awesomely cute
Before watching the video I thought the Zucchini part was about something else lol😂😂 loved the video, you guys are awesome!
THANK YOU FOR THIS! It's so sweet, I'm aromantic asexual and I'm glad to see myself represented on screen like this
I loved this so much, and I’m so glad that this exists tbh. We need more Asexual and Aromantic representation in media! 💖
DID HE/SHE(I'm sorry I don't know what they are) HAVE A DEATH-EATER TATOO?!?!?
Kat Nyamute The proper term for people you are not sure of the gender is "they." Believe it or not, "he/she" can be offensive in some situations. I know you weren't trying to be mean, I'm just giving you a heads up. And yes they did
Tell me why no one ever told me jughead from archie was asexual i guess since i only watch riverdale and dont read the comics its a bit different
I’m only three minutes in and when Evelyn introduced herself im like AHHHHHHHH EVELYN AND RILEY just like in less is morgue (eve isn’t ace in that podcast but still) exciting and comforting to see the character similarities.
heidkfksjzjsns RHIS IS SUCH AN AMWESOME SHORT FILM!!
honestly i always see aromanticim represented as like, "i hate romance please don't touch me" and while that's definitely how some aromantic people feel like, ive never felt like that
i always doubted myself because i enjoyed holding hands and cuddling, and romance culture is pretty neat, but ive never felt any romantic feelings, nor need for them (except when i thought that the only way you could be emotionally attached to a friend is if you had a crush on them lmaoo)
god it makes me feel so happy when physically affection aroace people ANDAND qpr/qpp's are represented!!!
I literally have Evelyn's haircut.
Debbie & I both said "Cool!" "Very professional" at the same time. You rock!
Aw yaaaaasssss! We need more ace videos around TH-cam! I always feel like I hit the jackpot everytime I find one
This being in my recommendations because I've been watching a lot of LGBT short films lately. But this made me really happy because I wasn't expecting the aroace representation. This was really good though. I love it.
This is beautiful. Representation feels amazing. I'm gaying out about it. Thank you!!!!!
This is such a beautiful and well made film💙
vid: "i'm ace too"
subtitle: "i'm a stew"
9:01 I love how dramatic that turn was
I really liked this and thought it was an awesome film. It really helped me understand ACE people more and explained everything very well. It was super cute!
this is adorable and the representation is everything
This is so cute! You never see Ace short films. This is amazing.
This is adorable! Especially love the dark mark!
I really liked this!! Also. I like Riley's dark mark tattoo. It's really cool.
Asexual is like a friendship with benefits ie hugging, kissing, caressing, dancing, etc etc . Far better chance of it being long term than if sex was involved.
Omg I’m ace and aro too!! This is an amazing short film!
The girl with the brown her has a tattoo from a deatheater from Harry Potter
Fay Tsironi I read deatheater as "death heater" and I was very confused
The actor is a guy
aw riley’s smile is so cutee
Love the short. Those two women have a sweet friendship. I also love that they both have short hair.
Omg RILEY HAS THE DARK MARK!!! I love this!😍
All I have to say is that this is amazing, and I wish I had found it sooner.
Love feeling/seeing representation that resonates with me (as well as others).
Ok but that Dark mark though
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWWW THIS IS SO EFFING CUTE AND ABSOLUTELY ADORABLE I LOVE THIS!
I love this so many times over! (and thanks for the comic rec lol). Great film!
Omg I noticed the dark mark tattoo on Riley's arm and I thought that was cool. I really loved this!
I promoted this short film amongst a number of other TH-cam videos that discuss Queerplatonic Relationships in my newest video on my channel! Thanks so much for this short film! :)
If you'd didn't know A Girls or guys are almost all so friendly 😍😋
I'm asexual! 😇
