    I presently use the lowepro shoulder bag. it's nice because it gives me instant access to everything i need. it's down sides are by the end of a day of shooting I can't wait to take it off. all the weight is on one side of your body most of the time if you bed down to shoot something it has the habit of sliding down in front of you. I do like the fact that I have a pocket for my sim cards batteries and microfiber wipe cloths. As well as storage under the camera for an extra lens and its expandable enough to store my longer lenses as well.
    But this backpack looks like it will be more of an advantage when I go off on my motorcycle adventures.

    I thought this bag would do it and I love how it looks and how sturdy it is, but unfortunately it proved to be too small for me as a (mostly) videographer. Everything was in too tight and could get my gimbal to fit nicely without putting to much pressure on the stuff. I'm going to try out the F-stop Ajna next!

    • @Jason_Hermann
      @Jason_Hermann  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for sharing and I'm sorry the bag turned out to be too small for your needs Timo... Best of luck with that F-stop ;)

    Another quality video as well as a great review. It's what I've come to expect since subscribing to your channel. LowePro does make a quality product and there should be no argument there. However, until camera backpack manufacturers start producing a backpack with a dedicated hydration area, and I'm not referring to a "water bottle" pouch or a crappy exterior side pocket that doesn't work, I will stick to my Osprey and 5.11 Tactical backpacks with Peak Design camera cubes.

    • @Jason_Hermann
      @Jason_Hermann  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I appreciate the reply Thomas and you raised some excellent points! So you are using that awesome 5.11 Tactical with an Osprey for hydration, and the Camera cubes for your gear and just putting all that in the one bag? Sounds like a really great option for those extended hikes and stuff, plus offers crazy versatility as well....

    • @TheArizonaHooligan
      @TheArizonaHooligan 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@Jason_Hermann Thanks for responding Jay. I actually use an Osprey pack for hiking because of the frame build and ability to distribute weight evenly and comfortably. I use the 5.11 for my mountain biking/hike and bike adventures. You know how photographers are, we have bags like women have purses. 😆😉
      Seriously though, I appreciate you taken the time to respond. Have an amazing day.

    GREAT video. i have this on and the 350 also. the 450 strangely fits better than the 350. I use the 450 to put my tripo 50 cm most of tripods are, inside the backpack eheh because the camera and lens can go somewhere else then the middle. So i can take the tripod out without opening the all bag also. You might ask, but why in hell should someone carry a big tripod INSIDE a backpack when you can carry it in 3 ways, left, righ or at the center??? Well...if i have the space i do it, its better in the citys, you dont scream "photographer" to the others and i keep the bag clean of straps and items if i dont need the all space. ALSO this bag can be uses for a non photography scenario, removing all the separators. When I dont use a tripod i take the Protactic 350 but in fact the 450 feels better in your back. Also note that with some memory muscle training you can access the lateral opening to take out the camera without putting the bag on the ground.

    Would you also recommend this backpack as a travel backpack that also offers the possibility to fit in a rainjacket, food, bottles, clothing and all the other common travel gear? Of course the photography gear would get cut down then. I’ve been thinking a lot about this backpack in the last weeks but wasn’t sure about the versatility on longer backpacking trips. Would love to know your thoughts about it’s versatility!

    • @Jason_Hermann
      @Jason_Hermann  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Well it does not have the most space when fully loaded with all my camera and laptop gear. We are talking several lenses, laptop, chargers, gimbal and so fourth... So, having clothes for travel is not going to work in my opinion with the amount of gear I have. You would need a larger bag or another bag unfortunately depending on how much camera and computer gear you have of course.. I'm speaking from my perspective...

    Hey Jay, greetings from France. Thanks for the comprehensive video.
    I currently own a Sony backpack, the LCSBP3. I generally put in there my A7 III along with 2-3 lenses, the Air 2s, the Rsc2 (thanks to your video on it that convinced me to buy it), a PC when I have to travel and few additional accessories.
    In terms of how the items fit in the bag, it's not super ideal. Even though their is room for customization, I often find the drone and other items at the bottom of the bag when opening it after a day of walking around. Is this an issue solved with this bag?
    Also, I can see that we are putting almost the same things in this bag, I only have the drone on top, do you think there is room for that in the Lowepro?
    And finally I find that, when packed with all these things, my Sony bag feels super heavy like I'm carrying my whole family in there. I know that the items inside are not particularly lightweight but is the weight allocated differently on the lowepro or the very structure made in a way that would feel a bit less heavy on the ahoulders/back.
    Sorry for the long message. Thanks a lot for all the videos!!
    Keep up. The good work 😁
    Julien

    • @Jason_Hermann
      @Jason_Hermann  ปีที่แล้ว

      Well it has a laptop pouch so you could fit some notebooks, but a thick text book would be too big for the laptop pouch I'm thinking and you would need to put that in the main part of the bag. Compared to the Tenba Axis 24L (I'm torn) - you dont miss the outer pocket do you? To keep some more stuff.

    • @Jason_Hermann
      @Jason_Hermann  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey there, That Tenba bag looks nice. However, I don't like how the archer straps are on the extra pocket like that. If you attach stuff the stress will go to the zipper... Other that that it looks pretty good without actually using the zippers and stuff. It's really hard to say without hands-on with the bag. As far as missing the extra pocket, yes I do a little for sure. But, I have extra little and larger bags that I can easily attach to my bag via the straps everywhere. I have a water bottle holder I use for hiking, and many others. They make low profile attachment bags as well, for when needed. When I do need to pack somme close, I just use that top area via the flap and stuff it in. It works, but you really need a few extra pockets for travel. A lot of the time I just have my laptop and 1 camera, maybe two lenses so I prefer slimmest option. Makes going thru doors much easier and in crowded areas. Sometimes it's fully loaded with two cameras, 4 lenses and gimbal, batteries, ect.... I've had mine for a while now and it's still 100% which is incredible based on the other high quality bags I have had over the years. When this bag fails I will get the next best available for my current needs and see what happens :) I hope that helps, Jay

    Do you think it could fit an A1 with 200-600mm and an RX10?

    • @Jason_Hermann
      @Jason_Hermann  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It should fit, but just barely with the camera attached. I'm thinking with the camera on the top side and the lens pointing down to the ground inside the bag if that makes sense? If you don't have the camera attached to the lens it will definitely fit and with both cameras plus extra room for more lenses or accessories.

      @@ryce80s It's a fantastic bag, but the pocket for a laptop is not that big... I did a quick search and this not many 17" backpack style options these days. Perhaps go for a laptop bag that has some extra pockets instead? I used to have a nice Alienware backpack for my 17" gaming laptop I had years ago for example... It had extra room for other stuff and perhaps something like that will work for you if nothing else comes up.

      @Jason_Hermann  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah for sure! Any more than an hour and I would put the waist pack on. I just don't do that as often with this pack. If it's a long trek I usually take a smaller hiking bag.
