It seem she got promoted to admiral now.
I was happy to see her again, I liked her back then and loved her when she came back in the fight. Come to think about it, we don't see much of the Martian higher echelons throughout the show. Earth has Avasarala (and all those around her) and Belters have Dawes, Johnson and Drummer at the forefront, but we never follow their Martian counterparts. Only brief moments, such as this commander or that martian general/professor or Duarte in the last season. Just tiny bits, while it would have been interesting to focus even on one single Martian VIP.
In the books, Prax back on Ganymede is a bigger thing. The occupying OPA accuse Prax of sending the plant info out and he confesses in such a long-winded, science-y way, they don't even realize he confessed and let him go.
I love watching space battles, but I'm always left with questions. The Pella juked to port every time to avoid the railgun. They go "left" in a 360-degree space environment, in the same way every time to the extent that they can be targeted with pinpoint accuracy by a railgun? That level of precision sounds like the computer is controlling their evasive maneuvering, in which case you'd think it'd be programmed to switch things up a bit to avoid being predictable. Unless the pilot is just hitting a button that corresponds to that exact movement... but that would be pretty dumb too. You have all the options, and you use the ONE that gives your enemy a chance to hit you. At this point in time, and with this level of technology, you'd think that most piloting tasks and defensive reactions would be handled by the computer, which can recognize and react much faster than people can. Also, if your enemy's primary weapon is essentially a (non-Jewish) space laser, wouldn't using your maneuvering thrusters to consistently alter your flight path ever-so-slightly essentially negate the threat of the railgun? It wouldn't slow you down much, and you'd never be going in a directly straight line. EDIT-- Want to point out that I'm not nitpicking (which I'm accused of on a fairly regular basis 😅), I'm just sharing thoughts about aspects of a show that encourages thought. Authenticity is a point of pride for the creators of The Expanse, and so it sticks out more to me when something seems off, or technical things are overlooked in favor of dramatic moments. It doesn't lessen my enjoyment of the show.

That being said, Combat AI in general would likely not be as effective imo. Aside from point defense and missile guidance, there isn't much one can do outside of very creative thinking like Bobbie here.
@@ghostnote-6the Pella is much more massive and much less responsive maneuvering-wise; the Roci actually pinning the Lauber with a rail slug followed by Marco foolishly keeping chase alone is probably the luckiest thing … my point being, expecting it bank hard, recover it’s pursuit trajectory equally hard, and lose minimal ground is just not possible given the Roci’s engineering advantage: diverse weapons suite, light mass, and a crap ton of attitude control both in power and direction Consider some proficient Belter used to flying something smaller than the Roci with likely different control schemes piloting for Marco and the ship design differences and the targeting and evasive opera isn’t too fanciful
Wes Chatham (Amos) co-wrote that X-ray episode with Glenton Richards and he's deservedly proud of it :) He (Wes, the actor) has always said that he sees Amos as a talented amateur, but Bobbie is a pro... she would make quick work of him, in his opinion.
Holden and Bobbie both really shine this season. Holden was always likable but not most people's favorite despite being the main guy. Having the main character really shine in the final season really makes the season satisfying.

I thought the "strange dogs" on Laconia looked kind of like organic versions of the device on Ilus that Miller projected himself into. Of all the changes made from the books in this series, the only change I did not like was dropping Prax's subplot from this season. It was interesting and funny how gentle Prax joined the resistance against Marco's Free Navy on Ganymede, and how his complete submergence in his botany got him through a Free Navy arrest and interrogation. Holden couldn't have known it, but destroying the Pella would have pretty much ended the war. Marco had never built a working hierarchy beyond himself and Filip. Rosenfeld possibly could have pulled the Free Navy together, but she'd have been dead too. Also, all the "tribute" members of other factions would have been killed. After abandoning Ceres and with Drummer against him, at this point, without Marco, the Free Navy would have fallen apart. Ah, well. Holden couldn't have known.

The intros on Laconia aren't "important" to this season but they are super relevant to the final 3 books. It's part of the novella "strange dogs" which shows the state of Laconia while everything else is happening on Sol system... I'm honestly not sure why they included that in the show if maybe to get people to go read the last 3 books. It's a shame because goddamn the last books would have made amazing television...
I've said it before, but while it's great to read the whole thing, it's 100% fine to start with book 7! You'll immediately get what is different in a relevant way (it's mainly one character at that point) and you'll be fine.
Here's one of the current issues with any news about the future of the show: Amazon still owns the streaming rights for like another year or so. It's unlikely that any other streaming service would want to make new episodes of the show if they didn't have the streaming rights to show the existing episodes as well. Because of that, it's also unlikely that we would hear any news (if there is any) until those rights expire.
Its one of their few critical and financial hits, plus when other franchises are getting flayed to the bone by the fans for its mistakes Expanse fans are not only keen but they fight to keep it going. There have been rumours of discussions recently so there may be new content or spinoffs in the works
Holden disarming that nuke took him from one of my favorite characters to one of my least favorite. It's so selfish and short-sighted, I get that killing filip wouldve really hurt naomi, but choosing the well-being of his relationship over ending a desperate war against the greatest mass murderer in history is probably the most idiotic decision in the entire show. I get he's supposed to be idealistic, but this is such a bomeheaded and costly decision from a character who should know better.

Agree with his action or not, but it wasn't "self-righteous." Self-interested might be a better descriptor. It was his love for Naomi and their relationship that stayed his hand.

The battle with the Roci and Pela is masterclass in space combat. Loved this fight between two legendary ships.
