My thoughts on the new Chanel Paris-Edimbourg Fragrance from the Les Eaux de Chanel Collection of Fragrances. Some good ones in the collection and a not-so-good one. Fresh Fragrances though. Great review Sab! Although Chanel is a hit or miss for me, your reviews keep me coming back to this house. Still very much associate the entire house with the smell of an old lady but new release such as Le Lion and Paris Edimburg are pretty good.
I had a "love at first sniff" with Paris-Riviera - and bought it straight away. I absolutely adore wearing it

I enjoyed this review. I’m one of the fragrance people you mentioned that prefers only high performance fragrances. I have low performance perfumes in my collection but I never pick them up to use.

I’m from Korea, and Chanels do have a reputation for being on the heavy side. The Les Eaux de Chanel fragrances go over better for some folks here.

as I've matured I prefer light scents compared to nauseating strong smell... I was thinking of riviera, Edinburg, biarritz... bought biarritz...my last purchase before this was years ago.....allure...
I’m a fan of the house. Chanel actually makes one of my fav scents ever, Platinum Egoiste. I haven’t yet tried any from this collection but need to for sure as I like a lot of what Chanel offers. Great review and vid

These fragrances do not have poor longevity.....they are simply not meant to project or last. They are designed to be worn in warmer weather and to be applied and re-applied during the day. Like an eau de cologne. It's what the French call 'le geste' of putting on fragrance. It's the pleasure of applying the scent and to enjoy that moment. Pure luxury.....

I like it and I am a girl ...never been there ...but I can imagine she captured the sensory memory here...I wear it when you am alone at home
I have no performance issues with Paris-Venise. I get 8hour+ and a very good sillage, Not an average cologne, nor weak at all.
For sure it is more feminine but it doesn't bother me. Both my wife and daughter like it too.
In general I have performance issues with most fragrances.
Citrus, juniper, cypress and vetiver ? Hum I think I could enjoy that one 😊
So far, my favourite one is Paris-Venise ❤

I bought Paris:Edimbourg at first sniff! I love all the notes and it feels very bracing and natural.

I didn't enjoy anything from Chanel until Paris Edimbourg. From Paris Edimbourg, it's been a mud slide into their Les Exclusifs line which isn't great for my bank account :(

Chanel Chance Eau Fraiche is my favorite fragrance. Do any of these resemble that fragrance? I was looking to try a shower gel in this line but was looking for something that resembled more the Chance Eau Fraiche.
What are your thoughts on Pikovaya Dama by Xerjoff, and is it suitable for men?
By an odd coincidence I bought a bottle of Paris-Deauville today--it didn't leap out at me when I bought a sample, but he more I've used it, the more I've discovered just a perfect summer eau de cologne for me--so light, so refreshing. It's like a much better and richer version of Hermés Eau d'Orange Vert.

Yes did sniff out this fragrance. And your on point with EDIMBOURG Leans more masculine. It's a very nice comfort fragrance. Date night, dinner with friend. Or just at home chilling 🥶😏. It is very airy!
Paris Edimbourg reminds me of the Eau de Cologne from the Exclusifs collection but amped up with additional notes like pepper
Edimbourg is my favourite, love it! I find Riviera too sweet.

Hi Sebastian. I recently bought month ago Paris- Biarritz and I love it. I wanted to buy the small bottle of Paris -Deauville, Nordstrom’s was out, so I selected Paris - Biarritz.I’m here for the citrus that I mix with Chanel No. 5 L’eau edt. Tom Fords Mandarino de Amalfi edt. It was a blind buy. Perfect for Summer . I’m so happy that you broke down this video . I wished that I had purchased the 4.2 oz bottle, as it’s a great buy in my opinion . Oh yeah, I did layer My Chance eau Fraiche , (perfect idea). Chance eau Vive bright and Chypre which gives me , and Eau Tendre.which adds a citrusy floral note, brightens the base of Chance eau tendre.
Will you keep Paris- Riviera; or will you you keep as a reference fragrance?

Paris Biarritz is my favorite in the Les Eaux collection. It is my fresh n happy go to scent. I will repurchase. Paris Riviera was a blind buy regret. I’ll be happy to gift it to someone as I don’t like returning fragrances. It starts off fresh and citrusy with a light touch of sweetness, but I just wasn’t happy with the drydown

Thanks! I’ve been wanting your take on this. I bought a decant, and I do love it. I agree it leans quite masculine, and I wear a lot of men’s fragrances. The lack of any lasting power at all is sadly a deal breaker for me. I know it’s meant to be super light, but....
In my experience it is not a super light fragrance, it is the densest and with the best perfomance of the five fragrances in the line.
Riviera is probably the best one.
What does "lipstick-y" even mean? Can't be scent related because all my lipsticks' scents vary with different brands... Explain "lipstick-y" please : )

I do not think he is talking about the modern gourmandy lipsticks nowadays but the natural lipstick smell that smells heavy, waxy, Iris-like.
I blind bought Venise. I especially like it when it’s hot. Heat brings out the freshness. In the winter, it’s a classic scent, but nothing I reach for.

Yesssss, I got my bottle today and love it. I first got a sniff at the Chanel store and felt in love. I think it’s a perfect unisex to me if any ladies are curious!
How is the performance? I just tried it in store and I really like it too but I see they complain about performance.
I'm not the biggest fan of Chanel's 'modern' mens fragrances. I prefer their old school Pour Monsieur and Antaeus. This line didn't interest me, but Paris Edimbourg sounds good!
I didn‘t like it unfortunately, to me it has the same detergent musks that Riviera has.
In the Netherlands the following notes are credited by CHANEL:
top: lemon & bergamote
heart Cipress and juniper berry,
base: cedar and vetiver. If only they would launch an intense or ‘concentré version. Would really really like that.

I actually found it’s performance decent compared with the other from the range. I felt it quite strongly on my skin for few hours. Also the opening notes were still felt after few hours.

While I know what you mean about the "mushy" indistinctness of the Paris-Riviera, in a funny way a kind of "indistinctness" in H24 actually works, doesn't it. You can't quite place it, yet it conveys it own elusive, if slightly frustrating, charm.
