- The step motor failed on our Hymer after 24 years so we tracked down a replacement and fitted it.
The motor that fits as a like for like replacement is a RTC6640 Window Motor Lh Range Rover Classic and can be sourced on eBay for around £50

Good spot my friend . Interestingly , couple of years ago , my intermittent wash wipe , packed up , along with the park function on all speeds . I tracked it down to a relay under the bonnet , but it was a type i'd never seen before . About twice the height of a usual relay , and 6 terminals . The markings had worn off , so i had to do some digging . Turns out , this relay was commonly fitted to , wait for it , the classic Range Rovers .
Oh , and by the by , i have a 2000 , 584 .
Nice one!
@@vintagevantics Makes ya wonder , what other goodies the Ranger hides , huh .
Hi. Great video and very helpful. I have a 2001 Hymer Swing 524 and the electric step motor has failed. Any thought on how I find out which version of the replacement motor to get?
It seems to be the same motor on all of the older vans. Have a look under the step and see if it looks the same.
