Thank you for the good info. Will be using your links tomorrow afternoon.
Thank you so much Tim! It's a great reel, hopefully you catch some monsters! - Tight Lines 'n Short Blood Trails
The Live liner drag adjustment is not like the V versions and before, where you rotate the knob to adjust rear tension. New models have the rear knob that has to be removed, and there is an adjustment screw/dial underneath to set your preset.
Thank you for pointing that out. I realized that the first time I went to use the reel, but I had already published the video. Thanks for watching
@@Horn_n_Fin_Outdoors I have many of the older liver liners. After having a few of the newer live liners, I still inadvertently want to turn the damn knob….lol. Happy Fishing!
@@runningmadphoto1947 lol. Tight Lines to you, sir!
The only drawback to the liveliners they are noticeably heavier in the 6500 size
I will keep that in mind, but i have been lucky enough to not need a reel that big. ( i dont catch giant fish lol)
Sir i need your help. I can not find a replacement drag knob for my 500 Vii. I dont understand why i cant find it online! Feedback please
here is the link to Penn's schematic page. just pick the reel you have, and the parts diagram will come up. go from there www.pennfishing.com/pages/schematics
Im sorry ssvii5500
Almost like they havent came out these replacements yet?
Thank you!
@@Horn_n_Fin_Outdoors and thats the issue im coming across. I found the schematic diagram but when you go to the drag knob part which is #52. This is the drab knob assembly for the SSVI and not the SSVII
