RIP Rod, Johnnie and Keith.
Fellas, first of all Rip to the Drummer Ernest "Bilbo" Berger who we lost in March 1st 2024. Basically the last original member of Heatwave that was still alive. U guys have to react to another Heatwave Music video was called The Grooveline. The Grooveline will make U dance all night long. U guys will enjoy that video.
According to a Slovak interview, Bilbo defected to the west from Czechoslovakia via Finland in the late 60s when his band did a small tour there and he never came back.
Mario Mantese, the original bass player who’s in this clip, is still with us as far as I know. He became something of a spiritual teacher/guru after his near-death experience and goes by Meister M now
Such a fun song and brings back lots of memories! Having lived through the Disco era, you gotta admit no matter what this music makes you want to move. If not .. check your pulse! This one was definitely one of the best! ❤❤❤❤
one of the best Disco songs ever.... i lived through the disco era and it was a blast and totally different than classic rock..... Boogie Nights will live on forever😂
I had this 45 and when I was about 6, I would pretend that I was on stage singing it. My bed was my stage and I would play this song over and over. I still love it even though I have heard it a million times. It's a classic!!
OMG, this was my mom's JAM back in the day. I recall her leaving cooking in the kitchen to go into the livingroom to get her BOOGIE ON! ! ! Or what she considered a boogie anyway. 🤔
This song brings back a lot of childhood memories. I was young but I remember hearing this song a lot. I also like Heatwave's songs Groove Line, Mind Blowing Decisions, and Always and Forever.
I remember this track from my grammar school days . I think the keyboard player here worked on The Thriller Michael Jackson's album . Quincy Jones thought he was a black dude before he actually met him.
English keyboardist Rod Temperton wrote all of the group's hits (Including "Always and Forever" and "Groove Line" along with this) as well as a number of Michael Jackson's breakthrough mature hits including "Rock with You," "Thriller," "Off the Wall," and "Burn This Disco Out." He also wrote some hits for other artists, like "Stomp!" with the Brothers Johnson.
Love this song - reminds me of when we used to go roller skating a longggg time ago. The video, however, could make someone go into an epileptic seizure. 😳. And the guy with the stocking on his head- that was rough 😂
LOVED THIS REACTION!! You all were dancing in your chairs!!! 🙂 You all would have LOVED being alive back in those days! Yes, the outfits were odd, but, the groove, the energy....this is why we loved Disco!! Like Olli said, "if you don't like this song, there's something wrong with you." This was a funk side of Disco, but it was DISCO. As open-minded as you three guys are, you would have been disappointed to hear so many guys diss this music back then. For some reason, most white boys hated disco and the band Journey. Is there anything more ignorant and stupid than someone whose prejudices close their minds so tight that even a silent fart cannot escape? Love y'alls reactions/personalities/open-mindedness/honesty/compassion/vulnerability and demeanors. All three different, yet all brothers just the same. And all willing to go out on the limb to reach the fruit. God bless y'all.
This is Classic "Heatwave" (get up, get down groove) but have you checked "Always and Forever", the total opposite, a classic slow jam you wouldn't believe they are the same group. P.S Remember London U.K got soul Heatwave since 1975🔥
I remember Headliner back then in NYC was Donna Summers others there were KC & Sunshine Band, Hues Corporation and HEAT WAVE after show went across the street for some Gyros
Rod Temperton!! What a writer!! Cleethorpes finest - They used to have a great Northern Soul weekender there, makes sense why Rod would be so good at funk and soul!! #KTF people Check out Chaz Jankel next - he wrote and recorded Ai No Corrida before Quincey had a bit hit with it. Great writer and great songs (and really bad white boy soul dancing!! 😆) Love him to bits.
Wait a minute! Boogie Nights, Ain't No Half Steppin', Mind Blowing Decisions, The Groove Line, Sho' nuff Must Be Luv, Happiness Togetherness, you think you have heard these songs??? Come on now!
Such a freaking groove. Please check out Brick House from the Commedores so much fun guys. Great reaction and Peace out 🙏 ☮️ ✌️BTW Ollie is just grooving through the whole song 😂
"THE GROOVE LINE" by this group is an absolute must!

Indeed. Loved both songs as a child in the 70s.
Ron Temperton known as the invisible man.
Guys, this is the man who wrote “rock with you”
The Funk must come from within!!!
Legend
Rod Temperton (playing the piano in the video) wrote Thriller, Off the Wall and Rock with you for Micheal Jackson also songs for George Benson.
Wow. I didn’t know he was in Heatwave. He probs wrote this song too.
@@TheDivayenta Rod Temperton was from Cleethorpes in Lincolnshire, England.
Keyboard player
This song and "The Groove Line" (also by Heatwave) are the epitome of the disco sound in the late 70s to me.

I grew up late 69's and 70's era..rock ..but loved this era when it came around. Hit all the dance floors where there was one !
The Groove Line by Heatwave is the jam too
Me too!
one of the best Disco songs ever.... i lived through the disco era and it was a blast and totally different than classic rock..... Boogie Nights will live on forever😂

I still have my 45 of The Groove Line from ‘78. It cracks and pops a lot more these days but it still gets regular use on my record player.
I grew up with this great disco music. How time flies. 🎶🎶🎶😘🙋♀️
OMG, this was my mom's JAM back in the day. I recall her leaving cooking in the kitchen to go into the livingroom to get her BOOGIE ON! ! ! Or what she considered a boogie anyway. 🤔
my 3 favourite 'disco/funk' tunes are Boogie Nights, Boogie Oogie Oogie and Stomp... amazing tunes
Stomp is such a great song. Can’t go wrong with Louis on the bass!
Also written by Rod
This song brings back a lot of childhood memories. I was young but I remember hearing this song a lot. I also like Heatwave's songs Groove Line, Mind Blowing Decisions, and Always and Forever.
Rod Temperton wrote some huge hits and must be loaded from all the royalties.
British of course.
See kids this is what real music sounds like.
This is about as dope as it gets. No one has any business being this fly.
I will say it once, I will say it again, all 70’s music was and is still the best!!!🎶🎶🎶🎶
Corey's future is so bright he's gotta wear shades.
It's all the more amazing when you know where Rod Temperton came from.
Such a great band Heatwve.
Let's dance..😀♥️
I remember this track from my grammar school days . I think the keyboard player here worked on The Thriller Michael Jackson's album . Quincy Jones thought he was a black dude before he actually met him.
Yes. Rod Temperton on keyboard. He made and produced some hits for MJ .
Even this song reminds me " off the wall".
The whole L.P of Boogie Nights is a masterpiece!
Brings back memories of my high school days, good times for sure.
My old roller skating music. And I’m still listening to this. ❤
Excellent skating song
Corey is my favorite reactor. Love his positivity and joy

I got to see these guys live in 1995. They put on amazing show. So much fun ❤
Love this song - reminds me of when we used to go roller skating a longggg time ago. The video, however, could make someone go into an epileptic seizure. 😳. And the guy with the stocking on his head- that was rough 😂
Back in high school, I was the one white boy in a funk band. We threw it down! 40 years later, I still dig this stuff.
Need to do Grooveline next! RIP Rod
Oh yes… the costumes were THE BEST! Such an interesting time for popular culture.
This would be a great song to play if you’re in/at a dance marathon. “Got to keep on dancing, keep on dancing.”💃
You can't not have this one on your Dance Llist playlist! Memories - age 13, dancing with friends!
LOVED THIS REACTION!! You all were dancing in your chairs!!! 🙂 You all would have LOVED being alive back in those days! Yes, the outfits were odd, but, the groove, the energy....this is why we loved Disco!! Like Olli said, "if you don't like this song, there's something wrong with you."

"Groove Line" is a good one by this group!
Love love love Heatwave!

You guys are one of the best reactors on here , and my subscribe list is very short
Much love! Much appreciated to be on your very short list!
Always loved this song. It's one of those songs that you just say, "I don't give a @##$ this song kicks ass".
Definitely danced many times to this classic✨✨💃🏻Never seen this video before… those threads are something else😂
This was one of our majors at the discos! ❤
These guys weregreat live.
The 50s through the early 90s were the best
I can't count the amount of times I've danced to this song lol. Classic.
This was a must at ant skating ring back in the day cool tune
I still have my 45 of this.
I remember Headliner back then in NYC was Donna Summers others there were KC & Sunshine Band, Hues Corporation and HEAT WAVE after show went across the street for some Gyros
Beware the Boogie Man in the Boogie Nights. He'll give you Boogie Fever. Then you'll Boogie Oogie Oogie til you just can't boogie no more.
Great one, guys!!!
Let’s keep boogying with George Benson on “ Give Me The Night”. ❤
Always liked this song.
One of the better songs from that time.
Wouldn’t mind a 3 month heatwave right about now.
The Grove Line is another good song by Heatwave.
Great music. The outfits are jammin’!!!
This is one of my favorite songs I love to hear it out about 120 DB
Love how Cory Roy is getting down to this one 🕺So infectious 😊
Rod Temperton!! What a writer!! Cleethorpes finest - They used to have a great Northern Soul weekender there, makes sense why Rod would be so good at funk and soul!! #KTF people

I don’t care who you are…if you don’t enjoy this song…you don’t have a heartbeat 😅
Love that groove!
Fantastic! Classic.
I got the receipt!!! So great!!!
I got the record lol!!!
Great song. Check out The Trammps song - Disco Inferno. It's one of the many good songs on the The Saturday Night Fever soundtrack. Good movie too.
Ka. Lassic. Music was so positive and happy then, except for the beautiful sad songs 😊
Wait a minute! Boogie Nights, Ain't No Half Steppin', Mind Blowing Decisions, The Groove Line, Sho' nuff Must Be Luv, Happiness Togetherness, you think you have heard these songs??? Come on now!
Nice choice.
This is what I call awesome!
Such a freaking groove. Please check out Brick House from the Commedores so much fun guys. Great reaction and Peace out 🙏 ☮️ ✌️BTW Ollie is just grooving through the whole song 😂
Go Corey, go Corey, go Corey 🕺 🪩
This was a HUGE hit. The movie was named after it, but I don't think it's on the soundtrack.
Groove Line
Like The Specials and Hot Chocolate and UB40 proper multi racial groups, like Heatwave, were rare back in the day.
The outfits are cheesy but the song is a classic.
BUS STOP!!!
Will you play Donny Hathaway this Christmas he really could sing the song
💯👍🕺
The awful costumes and even worse dancing can't disguise the fact that this is a great song by a great BRITISH band.
😂😂🤣🤣💀💀🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I lost 5 lbs watching this video
