Local optician had a Maui Jim trunk show yesterday so I had to go to get a “free” gift. The Maui Jim rep was very nice, honest and helpful. I wound up ordering an optical pair with an amber clip-on. Today I see by your review that I made a good, albeit an expensive, choice. Now the waiting part to hear when they arrive.
Maui Jim is a great company. They really care about their customers so I have no doubt that they'll treat you right and make you an excellent pair of glasses. Enjoy!
The blue tint lenses (called "high contrast") don't block blue light. The blue light protect lenses (clear) are the ones that actually block blue light.
Good news! Photochromic lenses already block blue light and if you add a blue light blocking Anti-Reflective coating (like the Shamir Blue zero for example) you'll have a great set of computer glasses. If you really need 1.74 then you'll want to speak with an optician. If you're in the market for Maui Jim glasses, talk about your lens options with the optician helping you and I'm sure they could help you with 1.74 + Photochromic lenses + blue light blocking AR coatings. It's not really a difficult request. It just might not be available directly through Maui Jim.
Can you give us a price range for the two pairs of glasses? I’m interested to know how much frames run and the estimated cost associated with them making the lenses. Thanks
Great news, I have some prices for you. Though Maui Jim does not set a MSRP, they expect the frame and lenses to be priced something like this: Frame only: $220-$400 HEV or High Contrast Lens: Single Vision: $350-500 Progressive: $450-600 That's directly from Maui Jim. Thanks for watching and have a great day.
Thank you for such a great review! Your voice is so soothing. Do you sing? You have that melodious type of tone to your voice. I'm gonna get a pair of these glasses and their sunglasses. Blessings!
As far as frames go I like Prodesign, Calvin Klein, Nike, OWP and Kate Spade (for the ladies). As for lens option, I like Zeiss AR, Crizal AR, Techshield Blue (for VSP patients) and I actually enjoy having Transitions. Hope this helps. Have a great day.

Video Request: How can someone tell, we are getting what we are paying for, in regards to high index lenses 1.67 - 1.74 ??? (Example: Lab selling you 1.74, but are actually 1.67, a little scammy).
Great question. Between 1.67 and 1.74 it would be nearly impossible to distinguish unless you knew about certain characteristics to look for. Both 1.67 and 1.74 Hi index plastics smell a little (yeah, they really stink when they get cut) and the 1.74 is a little worst. The 1.74 might also have a little bit more "color" to the lens. It's not as clear as a Trivex lens, for example. You can always request to see the service report (order form) and the lab report. Both should show the exact material which is being used. I hope this helps.
You'll have to answer my question for me to hit like or subscribe. You have a perfectly manicured beard.i don't know why but I want to touch your beard.
A biography about a guy who failed at making a company successful. Then got bailed out by his competitor to avoid a monopoly. Then started making products That were slick looking. While charging double what they should cost.
These days glasses are like the food industry; you have cheap (McDonald's) and you have 5 star restaurant level. All depends on what you can afford and what you can justify to spend. for a good quality set of glasses, you can be looking at $400 for thin lenses and a high quality Anti-Reflective coating.
I know, it's a little long. Most of my 2019 videos have been kept to under 10 min because I get this feedback quite a bit. Thanks for leaving the comment. I take it all as constructive criticism.
They have blue for the computer no Rx?

Great info. Thanks very much. By any chance, have you tried Maui Jim progressive lenses? If so, would you do a review on them? Awesome vid again.

Damn, my eye doctor was trying to sell me these too, kind of ready to buy a pair now.
Are there any lense manufacturer that have high index 1.74 with photochromic (grey) and blue blockers ???
Thanks for the informative videos.

Why, as a matter of fact I do. :)
Just a little at church though. No TH-cam channel for that coming soon haha. Enjoy your Maui Jim Glasses.
@@EyeInfluence Ah ha! I knew it. I also sing at my church! I just subscribed to your channel. God bless! ❤️❤️
Just out of curiosity, what other brands would you rate as high quality ophthalmic glasses?

I think the "logo" on lenses is optional. You can instruct to take that out when putting an order.
Maui Jim has not made the logo optional. Sorry. If you get lenses without the Maui Jim logo then they are not made by Maui Jim.

Lovely glasses, but the logo in the corner of standard glasses looks awful. Can you spec them without it?
Check out my review of my new Maui Jim eyewear in the High Contrast Lens.
What are those blue lenses called.

High contrast. Lavender color. Good for night vision and clarity of colors.
