I purchased this and got refunded not from the company but from contacting Apple Card customer support. I showed them proof on discord and email updates that it’s been 3 years and hasn’t shipped and they gave me a refund so kudos to Apple Card support. The CEO of dune Alexander Gomez basically kept coming up with excuses for hackers and delaying things and then the pandemic hit which gave him a whole slew of new excuses and then someone found a picture of him in Bali surrounded by expensive food and hot girls. He just spent all the money and kept kickstarter happy with excuse after excuse.
Imagine securing millions of dollars in funding just to get only a website up and for the CEO to disappear into thin air. Edit 1: Can’t believe that this comment has 1.6k likes!
ah jeeze those crowd funding concepts can be so awesome when executed correctly but so often they're sadly not :/ I would definitely consider this case, it's sick af
my mom used to have one of the original mac pro power PCs in a more traditional shaped case. But it was that old apple silver, felt like solid steel (heavy as F) and one of the nicest computer cases i have ever seen. I wanted to use to for my build, but I sold the whole PC as is to someone who really wanted it for some reason
Brought home a big silver G5 case from an ewaste place, haven’t turned it on it years think it was running tiger but makes a really nice stand for my monitor.
Waited years and years were a decent aluminum case that wasn't micro or atx waited year and 8 months for both of those cases. Just went with inwin Dubli
I had someone say i looked 18 yesterday and now today I'm hearing things that came out while i was in high school called old... not sure how i feel about that but i know i don't like it.
I was something like backer # 31 or 35 or so for this one, of course got screwed and never got a case. Their update streams on Discord were such a cluster, what a bunch of douchebags. Mad at myself, but also grumpy at the TH-camr that praised and advertised it. Def a learning experience for me.
Peak design; their bags started on one of those sites (can’t remember which one right now) and they turn it into a huge company with some decent bags. There are plenty that have been good but there are also plenty that have been scams it happens.
Wow, a company that only shows fake images of another companies products took money and failed? Who'd have guessed... Because designing a case to resemble the yrashcan mac pro would also require a custom motherboard... You can't fit standard PC hardware in there. The cheesegrater copy could have worked though, but they didn't even use their own image, so i never would have believed that.

There is a small Chinese company that actually sells Mac Pro inspired PC cases called McPrue. It’s high quality but around 3 times more expensive.

Teenage engineering makes a nice and affordable apple like case! If I had a desktop I’d use it.
the pc-1 case doesnt rlly look much like apple but more industrial/brutal
that case sucks so much it was a giant pos to put together.
"way back in 2016" I feel attacked
I don't think it was a scam, I think it was Apple that took down the selling of the cases
They cant if the case isnt an exact remake
It was most certainly a scam I spent my money and never got the friggin thing. That's as scammy as you can get.
the Mac Pro “trashcan” was released in December of 2013! over 10 years ago!

"way back in 2016" crying and shaking rn
Apple really does have some of the best designs ever, the power Mac g5, the trash can and the cheese grater
certainly unique, but im not sure if a cylinder is the best use of space.

Linus updated their title to something like do not buy this, or something like that. it would have been cool if it came out :(
Most of these kickstarter projects can't scale to mass production. It's much harder than you think.
Apple definitely stole that one
Ah I wonder if this PC case has Siri built in cause it sure as hell looks like a homepod
