I really don't get the mentat r1, what are you hoping to accomplish? You're wasting 2 solari that wouldve gotten you to r2 swordmaster if you go wealth right away (and get it again r2 which is not unlikely). There's no way you're getting sayyadina this way and also will miss out on the peddler always. Just wealth + peddler and likely sm r2 seems way better
Thanks for the stream, loving the content. Also loving the podcast and the priorities for future content / tournaments on dune digital, would also love to see the 3v3 format as cannot get people to the table for that length of a game and it sounds great :( Yuna likes solari and the faction tracks so shipping is great for her, maybe could've competed for that. Spy satellites and no shipping access at odds with spice smugglers and her ring (which is really good). Also, keeping seek allies clogged up the deck with a 0 persuasion card makes it even more difficult to get SMF. Probably a good call to give up on getting them. Did quite well in the end given the ring was basically unused!
@@DeanMachine3333 I played a bonkers 3v3 this past weekend. That format is now my favorite for Uprising. Just so fun to work together and cut the other team off.
Love watching you play. A quick question - is there a reason to not play Seek Allies before Diplomacy when they are both on hand? What am I missing here? Thanks :)
@@surmim the reason is flexibility, really, but it's not much different. Keeping Seek gives me a better chance to hit my access at the cost of 1 bump (which it is possible to make up elsewhere). Playing Seek shrinks your deck slightly and gives you a tighter draw. There was a massive debate years ago on BoardGameGeek about this exact thing. I think I can see the benefits of both strategies now.
As long as you don't need the 1 persuasion for a card, keeping the seek in your deck and using the diplomacy increases the chance of drawing faction access in a later turn when it could be critical. Faction access is very limited in the early game. If you do need the 1 persuasion or want to shrink your deck a little as you have bought some useful cards, then by all means use the Seek instead As CJ has said there are benefits to both strategies, but keeping the seek allies for more than 2 draws is likely very rare/sub-optimal, but some situations may require it.
Thanks for the video, I've been learning from this channel. If you get the opportunity could you explain why in the economic supremacy fight you didn't want to spend one of your waters to get 2 spice which would've been enough for the 3rd victory point? You wanted to go shipping instead until it was blocked. Was it concern you weren't going to win the combat or a calculation that the water would be worth more than a point in the future. Thanks so much!
Leavers ruin games so much. Imho, too greedy play with a mentat on turn 1, which really made your first 3 turns really bad (Reshuffled weak cards for round 3). There was an option to get a Swordmaster easliy on turn 2 (unless someone locked wealth on turn 2). However, there was a bit of bad luck with card draw GL next
Hehe like watching you play cause you play like me, which is headles chicken strategy. Your predictions and calculations are so off , like you would play the game first time. And most importantly you get as shity draws as me.... Nice game, thou you finished higher than your gameplay deserved it , but i guess bot helped your situation.
To be fair to CJ after you have played/watched/commentated so much on Immortality and Uprising it takes a while to get back into the swing of Ix again. Commentating while playing also can't be easy, especially with the time pressures imposed by the live game. The bad draws really didn't help either :)

I think r1 mentat is the wrong choice. Wealth setups potential r2 swordmaster
