      It's an approach taken in many areas. Just in the Star Citizen project for example they not only structured the web site in such layers - first for newbies and then you can switch to in-depth mode later, but also their video documentation of the game development with brief summary videos and then detailed livestream interviews for the more devoted.

Luckily, we found a guy with TWO '64 Chevys who sold us a door. Spent many hours doing father-son car projects: after the Chevy, a '68 Galaxie, and later an '83 Corolla and a early 90's Integra... FUN!!!

    I love that this video shows the "small garage" way to do things. Most car shows involve guys with hangars full of tools and equipment. You are showing what is possible for the everyman and I really enjoy that. I also enjoy that you explain some pretty intricate stuff in only 20 minutes. I was never bored and I never felt you were explaining things too fast. It is a good pace to convey the information without losing the audience or boring the audience. I enjoyed this a lot more than I thought I would. Excited for more!

    Hello guys. Nice :)
    You filmed / edited in the same way as for ADV, maybe even with a faster rate. Well, it's okay from your point of view, but It seems to me that there would be a better way to do with these technical subjects: by stopping at greater length on certain important details, and slowing down the rhythm of editing (just a little bit). Three episodes of twenty minutes is very short for such a project. My reference (like many I think) is the Tavarish channel : he found a rhythm perfectly suited to YT.
    Anyway : great respect to you. Bravo (from France).

    In America, a router is very different from a grinder. A router has a bit in the middle that's used to cut portions out from the middle of a sheet. We used them all the time when I worked in carpentry to cut holes for windows out of the plywood we used to sheath the outside walls.

    AW11s are rust magnets! The inner panel on the rear quarter is probably one of the worst places. With hot and cold cycles creating condensation in there, the sound deadening gets damp and it justs ends up rotting away from the inside out. I've only taken angle grinders out to use on two cars in my life and both were AW11s trying to salvage bits of metal off slightly less rusty ones from junkyards.

    very well done video! I think you really nailed the right amount of detail to learn without getting bored with too much detail. also very happy to see you linked the tools you used.
    Any chance future content will include motorbikes?

    Maybe make a video on ceramic coating ?

  • @Synchromesh123
    @Synchromesh123 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    I love it how you say in the beginning body work is easy and then proceed to go through whole video fighting parts and having problems, lol. The truth is - body work is not easy at all. It requires proper skills in everything from metal twisting, to bondoing, to paint prep, actual paint, etc. This is why body shops are still in business. I've done my own body work before but I would only do it if I don't really care what it looks like after. When it comes to a car I care about, I'd rather leave it to the professionals because they can do a much better job vast majority of the time.

    I was hit twice in twice in 2019 both on the front passenger side in my Hyundai 2007 Tucson. I was going to use the settlement to get it repaired they want around 2,200$ for a door and a fender. There hasn't been anything I couldn't fix on my car thus far but I for some reason I was afraid of body work. Thanks for giving me the confidence to do it myself!

      Never heard them called routers but there is a woodworking power tool called "router" that is used for finishing edges. He must have gotten the two confused.

    Can I offer a piece of advice when doing your paint work? Flatten the primer with 320 grit followed by 500-600 grit. This will remove that grainy texture you commented on after laying your base coat. Sanding the base coat will generally compromise the sheen of the finished job. Most people stick to 5-6 coats of 1K clear followed by a wet sand using 2K grit (1K clear is a lot more health friendly if you don't have a proper mask - isocyanates can kill). If you follow that up with a cut and polish using a DA polisher I promise you will be even more pleased with the results. Keep up the good work guys.

    Hey Winston! You could try a wirewheel on an angle grinder if you want to really effectively remove paint, 'bondo' or other gunk. Worked great for me when I was repairing my golf. Removes rust pretty well too. The wheel I used was cup-formed.

    The positive message is the "you can do it" attitude. That's very good. As for the work on that car and what folks ended up buying, there's a whole other story there. Caveat emptor. Btw, I think that seller would have taken about $800 to move on. Good luck with the channel. High entertainment value, for sure. Oh, and the thoughtful voice over is pretty good, too.
