Chris, if I can call you that, as I delve deeper and deeper into these songs I'm just ... I can't think of the verb to express how much this is shocking me! I was sitting here listening and watching ... and I thought "where the hell did he get these aragmenements????" Then I read the note: "This was arranged by myself." So, I'm definitely impressed by your playing but your ear and your ability to configure these songs to be played so fully and richly as solo performances is just taking my esteem to a whole other level. "getting over overhanging trees..." I remember the first time I listened to this song, I was driving in winter and crested a hill in my Jeep as the sun was starting to set ... and the sky and the light refracting through the ice. It's just LOCKED that sound/song and moment into my brain. and THIS is bringing me back to it. I wish I still had the Jeep! I wish I still had hills covered in snow and Ice! Oh for "the evil of a snowflake in June!" (or the desert!) translation into simpler terms: you sir are awesome!
wow chris, i've been watching some of your vids, they are great! When Tales came out I listened to it everyday for about 10 years. And still listen to it often..you had me singing right along....great job.
That was absolutly fantastic. I was sort of singing along with your playing. My only regret was that I wasn't arounf the first time this beautiful music came out.
You make me want to dust off my guitar and play along. If ever you put this into tabs I'd love to know. Sweet playing. This album was for my the culmination of all Yes's achievements. Howe's guitar playing was second to none, you have made a great homage. Bravo!
I wore out this on vinyls when it came out and your rendition is gorgeous. This song and The Remembering are my favorite gems from Topographic Oceans. Thank you!
for an amateur you should be praised cause you capture the soul of this incredible beautiful piece of music of a rare beauty loved by people all around the world and even the «professionals» didnt go so far as you despite their skills. Thanks from lisbon.
Well expressed, 'imperfections' in quotation marks. I didn't hear any, didn't hear any mistakes. Very good work. The good work that you do you 'carry', and also perhaps it can 'carry' you as well. Very good upload, thank you.
I can't imagine how much practice went into this one, but it paid off! Amazing rendition of this YES masterpiece. Thx a lot for bringing back this great music. Cheers, Ernst.
Wowee. Fantastic effort, and top marks for putting together a challenging piece of work. Having ploughed my way through learning quite a few of Steve's pieces, I can really appreciate what you have put in to bringing this together. Steve's compositions are structured for their musicality and definitely not their ease of playing, and he has a way of dislocating his pinky that few have mastered. Well done! I look forward to hearing more from you.
Agreed, never seen RSoG on solo guitar like this -- well done! Especially loved the acoustic part starting at 4:20, probably my favorite part of the song, and you did it beautifully. I just saw Yes play this song live last month in San Diego and it was so emotional. Steve Howe is the BEST.
Thanks for the kind words, Lightmane321! It was a difficult one to pull off, but I really felt I wanted to make an acoustic arrangement of this song. It is very pretty. Thanks for watching! :)
I didn't know you did this Chris. I just put it on facebook. Here's what I said: I gotta give Chris all the props in the world for what he accomplished here. Yes, he made some mistakes & yes, he rushed it a bit as well. Doesn't matter. It's a great rendition. I kinda like the "imperfections"
Magnificent! Don't worry about the performance, I've probably been playing longer than you and my articulation is still lacking, i.e. fingers contact other strings and cause buzzing or dead notes.
Chris, That is simply beautiful. Pulls together some of Howe's most interesting and inspiring melodies, his understated melodic masterpeices. Love the images, production and sound/tone quality too, you've done the artist a worthy tribute. You've raised the bar on your own incredibly high standard, how do you do this?
very nice...you love them mucho as i do... i once saw a dude named Nicholas play "circus of heaven' in a cafe in Eugene in the early nineties..haint seen that one covered before or since.........
@izimbraxyz Thanks, izimbraxyz! That definitely was the tough part with this song. :) I can understand now why Steve never did that much of the song in his solo acts. :) Thanks for the comment.
@polygraphovich Thanks, polygraphovich! Honestly I don't rember anything other than it was a Fender acoustic, not sure the other details. I've sold that guitar since then and bought a Martin. Thanks again for the comment!
@melqui33 Not sure what you mean, but thank you! I missed lots of notes, didn't play this as well as I would like. I guess it wasn't meant to be performed on solo acoustic. :)
Brilliant! great rendition, and kudos for taking the time out to play it for us.
In the words of Jon Anderson, "Was that something beautiful, amazing, wonderful, extraordinary, beautiful?"
I don't think that Steve Howe today could do as good as job. Well done!

Thank you for your words, oiramsq73. I’m very happy my rendition of this song brought back those memories for you! 😊
Beautiful; with heart. Thank you.
I can hear Anderson at the end "..and hope and chase and love for you and you and yooouuu!"
😊
That's gorgeous! RSoG has some of the most beautiful and majestic of any Yes, thank you for sharing this!
we are still listening. Great Job.
Thanks John Rose for still listening!

Excellent! You had me dreaming! I forgot how much I loved this album. Now I have to dig out my vinyl. Beautiful stuff man!
Wow! This is great. I'm getting choked up...This rendition is beautiful. Yes music stands the test of time.
Fantastic guitar work. Lyrical and prestine, ,marvelous and minty fresh...
You make me want to dust off my guitar and play along. If ever you put this into tabs I'd love to know. Sweet playing. This album was for my the culmination of all Yes's achievements. Howe's guitar playing was second to none, you have made a great homage. Bravo!

Thank you, and you, and you........
LOL, good one, Victor! :)
Well done! My favorite one on this Masterpiece.
Holy shit. Dude Steve Howe would be so proud/impressed by this. You’re unreal my guy. Much respect.
Thank you for your kind words, Ryan Semmelmayer!

Somehow I could see Steve enjoying a jam with you. Nice Job again. Love your videos
Got Topographic Oceans the minute it came out and loved it, as it was so different and it is so nice to hear your take on it.

Thank you dennenono! Much appreciated.
Adoring Fan!

EXCELLENT rendition! If you ever put out a solo album, I'm buying it. This was an outstanding and beautiful performance.
I can't imagine how much practice went into this one, but it paid off! Amazing rendition of this YES masterpiece. Thx a lot for bringing back this great music. Cheers, Ernst.
Thanks Ernst! Yes, a lot of time and practice went into this, and I still never was able to play it as good as I had hoped. Thanks for the comment!
Absolutely majestic brother!!! Lots of admiration from Detroit!
Thanks, Joey V!

Nicely done, Chris! You've done yourself proud with this rendition.
This is amazing!
