The hood scoops and Cragars provide a hint there could be something special going on - and there is - otherwise this very cool Dodge is sleeper perfection. Thanks Lou and Denny and enjoy the show! 👍
Yeah Lou! , Another 'grand slam' home run! This would be ONE of my dream cars. Back in the day the factory would have a disclaimer attached saying "Avoid wide open throttle for more than 15 seconds or may cause engine damage", but it would take less than that to do a quarter mile anyway. Nailed 'er again Lou, Thanks!
WOW! The stance, ride height, wheels and paint are absolutely phenomenal!! Back in the seventies, I owned a '64 Polara that was the same body style, except a 4 door,. and it looked nowhere near this good!
Mopars always had the most exotic stock intake and exhaust manifolds. The Ramchargers made sure that the engineering wasn’t just for looks. It’s all about performance !! Beautiful car that needed to be reunited with the original owner. That’s why it’s #1 !!
What an amazing pristine example of the transition from the 1950's mom and dad era sedans... to the 60's Muscle car era, before muscle cars were even a thing. All the interior and exterior bells and whistles of the 50's, with the body style and muscle of the 60's... Congrats on the awesome ride!
Awesome car. Thank you for sharing.. I'm waiting in line at MCaCN right now. My high school car was a 63 330 318 push button. In 1983 friends at school couldn't believe I was driving a 20 year old car. If I had kept it, this is exactly what I would have done to it... I wonder where she is today.. love it!!
¡Saludos cordiales Lou!
Hi Jaime, Happy to read you enjoy this "imposing" car :-) I'm learning all the time from the Caretakers and I find that to be so much fun. Thank you for viewing and sharing, Lou
NICE!!! What a beauty, an ultimate sleeper car except for the hood scoop and that high lift back end. I would be cautious challenging that at a stop light.

I attended this show on Saturday. I never would have heard about it but I saw it on your TH-cam videos and just knew I had to go! I live only 1 hour away. Thanks Lou!
Wow I love this car. The grill and air scoop are ready to eat you alive. The tapered body to the rear and the rake are beautiful. Max Wedge and Kraegers ... pefect.
6:55 the hood is for the plain jane, single four barrel V-8. I had a friend who had a car that was literally just like that, same color, same color interior, same groovy cross ram intake. It would lift the front wheels when he put slicks on. Launched violently, really hooked up. He did have the battery in the trunk actually, and it was no where near as nice, but it was super quick

Hello Lou..gorgeous car from the past..some may say, as I do..front of this car is simply beautiful.. designers *then* were very creative with their masterpieces..
At first, I wasn't sure what to think about the red in white..then I saw the glorious silver instrument cluster POP inside all that red, and LOVED it! Very cool.
How could you not love Chrysler cars from the 60’s to early 70’s? I bet the engine was 40% of the price of the car when new! AND Lou, who needs brakes with a big Max Wedge in the engine compartment? There will never be a car in front of you to hit! WOW, thanks again Lou!
Hi David, Happy to read you enjoy the Chrysler cars from the 60's & early 70's :-) You're on the right Channel for the cars you enjoy. You're welcome, Lou
The undisputed king... G.M. and Ford had nothing to compete with it. At the end of the day at every racetrack that they raced at, the Super Stock Mopars would end up solely racing against themselves in the finals. These cars were designed by a team of mopar engineers, who formed a racing team called the RamChargers.. their story is a great read. As well as the story of their test mule "High and Mighty". Thanks again, Lou.. you sure know how to pick 'em.
One of my aunts had a 1963 Dodge 330. It did not have the big engine of course...and it was four doors. It was dark blue exterior and interior. I liked the car a lot. It was a good driver. I was not old enough to drive at the time she had it. But I always liked the way it looked. It did not have the blackouted grille. Her grille was all silver. It also did not have the white lights in the back. For the more sedate cars, they were different. My aunt's car was also automatic. Push button control. The push buttons would have been on the same line as the radio push buttons, just on the left side of the steering wheel. they were the same size, color, etc. as the radio buttons. Last but not least...my aunt's car had a bench seat and did NOT have the hood scoops. Fun car! If only her engine sounded like this!!! HA HA. Definitely thumbs up!! Another great video from Lou!!!
Beautiful Mopar! What a shame it was at an indoor venue! No ride in this Max Wedge car! That car is in pristine condition. The engine didn't sound too healthy the way it backfired! Another cool Super Stock Dodge! This is what I picture the "Li'l Old Lady from Pasadena" pulling out of her rickety old garage!
Yikes !! This is great ! One of those the more i looked, the more i liked !!! freakin' back fire....startled then had to laugh. Made my day. Thanks, Lou.
Really love your car, congratulations on the ownership of such an exquisitely kept car., If ever a vehicle was meant to be under the custodianship of the correct person it is this person and that vehicle
What a beautiful machine. 👍 Back in the 1980s and '90s I had one similar to this but mine was a 63 Polara 500 which had more options and no lightweight parts and only had a 383 engine.
Nicest one I’ve ever seen. I’m thinking for an ultimate street machine modern A/C and heat, power steering, disc brakes with dual master cylinder, move the battery to the trunk for room for the a/c compressor. That would be my dream come true. Is this beauty for sale. One more thing, are these Max Wedge engines hydrolic or solid lifter cams? Thanks
Cool Dodge . Interestingly the 63 and 64 Dodges trunk lid area is pretty much the same design as on my 66 Australian Valiant. Lou' I think you know that a single reservoir master cylinder doesn't mean it has less braking power than a dual master. Thanks ' keep up the good work.
If you go on Nicks Garage page, he has a 426 max wedge on his dyno running the cast manifolds, it puts out some impressive horsepower and torque figures..👍🏻.
Van seats were from A100 vans. Super Stock seats were not from the vans. Van seats do not tilt forward. Super Stock seats tilt forward and were made for the drag cars.
I "thought" only Wedge motor option in 1963 was the 413 wedge . . . 426 wedge came in 1964. . . Explain ? . ?. In 1966 My father had a red 1963 Dodge 330 also, his was a 413 with the 2x4 crossram intake . . . THANKS
OK, - FIRST, the seats were not out of an ‘A990’ van, there is no such thing. The Van is an A100. SECOND, the order code for 63 Maxwedges were A509 (415hp) and A519 (425hp). Too many ‘collectors’ out there that don’t know what they own.

It is not nearly as nice but in the summer my daily driver is a 63 Dodge 440 4 door sedan with the 318 poly, push button automatic trsnsmission, and 70K original miles on the clock, and the optional steel 3/4 weight front fenders with the section that would go down between the front tires and the front doors on the regular fenders is not there. It is amazing how easily these fenders are confused with ones that have been attacked by iron moths, until I point out that it is only the front fenders and if it were iron moth damage, it would be affecting more than just the front fenders😁 .

These were, absolutely, the first real "muscle cars" and beat the GTO by a couple of years. BTW, these smoked said GTO's every time. 426 and 413 wedge motors with short reach (this car) or long reach, cross, induction, were the terror of the strip, back in the day. Granted, the down sized "full size car" of the Chrysler corporation was the reason, but compare wheel base and overall length of these cars to the GTO..... They are within 4" of each other, varying 2-5" overall, between the Plymouth, Dodge, and Chrysler badges.... But not only that, the scale of finish was from a stripped out Savoy or Belvedere clear up to a leather clad, cushy, 300. Exner (by force) and Chrysler did the muscle car before DeLorean: a year prior, with more HP and torque than GM had out of any of their engines matched only by the rare Ford 427. DeLorean was just a genius marketer: nothing more.
Good video and superb car, but did I see just one exhaust pipe on that car? If so, GET THE OTHER PIPE ON IT! That car would be a joke with that dual carb engine and no dual exhaust!

Happy to read "I love it!" Thomas :-)
Good video and superb car, but did I see just one exhaust pipe on that car? If so, GET THE OTHER PIPE ON IT! That car would be a joke with that dual carb engine and no dual exhaust!
