After watching this and the Nostalgia Critic's review of Freddy vs Jason, I have to say I prefer yours Decker. The most obvious reason is because you went through the effort to review both franchises, plus the reboots, and of course how you will reference the previous movies. The Nostalgia Critic pretty much just did the review for his Halloween special and made jokes about the plot holes. Plus the Nostalgia Critics doesn't say "and the body count has started" especially since any movie that has Jason Voorhees killing people, of course there should be a body count being mentioned.
Decker' more in depth and points out certain issues and stuff Doug while I love his work didn't really go that deep he didn't even go in depth into each character
dude, yes, please review the child's play series! when I first found his channel, I thought he already did, and was disappointed to find out he never did. And yes, I thought he did Halloween also. Do Halloween also!
I honestly really dig this movie, I watch it around every Halloween season and it's one of the better VS movies ever made, waaaay better than AVP, those movies were just insulting rubbish, this movie on the other hand despite not being perfect (but then again, what Freddy or especially Jason movie is perfect?) it's a fun action horror flick. The actor who plays Will is the guy who voiced Dipper in "Gravity Falls", BTW.
and in Rick and Morty!!! And we know that GF and R&M universes ARE connected. So it means that Freddy, Jason, Dipper and Morty live in the same creative universe!
I feel kinda bad criticizing NC here but I also don't like NC as I feel his reviews aren't genuine in that they cling to what is already popular opinion leading to what are oftentimes very denigrating movie reviews. Decker's reviews are definitely more genuine and more constructively criticized and fair.
I would honestly be fine with thinking that Jason’s fear of water is deeply buried in his undead subconscious but being dragged into Freddy’s fear/dream world triggerd it again. Or something like that
I never knew there was a debate over who won. I loved this movie. My favorite part of the whole entire thing is when Freddy was pulled into the real world and had the biggest, "I'm absolutely fucked," look on his face ever
I'd say about 10ish years too late.. Nightmare on Elm St came out in 84 so when this came out in 2003 it was barely 20 years lol. But I get your point that yes, this did come out a bit later than it should have.
Cool review as always. And also I HATED Lori . In the comic Freddy vs Jason vs Ash issue one she and Will are killed by Jason. Why you ask did this happen ? Because her stupid ass needed closure While Will was fine to live and let live so to speak. I know they it is only a comic book. But I was pissed at her stupidly, but oddly happy that she was written to be killed off. Her only likable feature was her Fantastic rack in this movie.
the brawl between the two is actually quite impressive in truth. Freddy having to be a bit more swift in his hand to hand without going into kung fu territory, and Jason, well, being a freaking juggernaut that is pure power and defense.
I think what they were going for was that Jason is afraid of water but he’s a hulking killer so he can work through it, but in the setting of a nightmare anything can get to you.
A long long time ago, back in cave man days on the internet, there was a fake sequel poster for Jason vs Michael that showed Freddy vs Jason fighting, with a shot of Michael's mask in the back. It has the headline "I've got winner"
Decker, I think tv channels are stealing your ideas. after you start a new series, I have noticed that series is played a lot on tv during Tremtober, the first 4 movies were being marathoned over and over, and I just saw the friday the 13th movies on tv recently, and they ended it with freddy vs jason (and then I watched carrie) #DeckermustreviewCarrie
@6:55....well considering the fact that they are just average teenagers and the nature of how Trey was killed, more the way the bed was folded upwards in half with Trey in half, and the fact that they all ran outside screaming out of their minds for help instead of just trying to sneak away and the fact that they flagged down the cop when they saw him instead of trying to hide, it's actually not surprising that they weren't arrested for murder because there is no way average teenagers could do that. Now one could say well any average teenager could inflict those kinds of stab wounds but again, going back to how the bad was folded in half
Now that you said that kid's dad looks like Alex Jones, I can't un-see it. "I DON'T LIKE THEM PUTTING CHEMICALS IN CRYSTAL LAKE THAT TURN THE FREAKIN' JASONS GAY!"
Freddy vs Jason we the fans waited for an unrated WWF extreme rules last man standing match , instead we got a PG era WWE tv match that was disappointing . I built : Jason Voorhees Jason X Freddy Krueger Michael Myers on my WWE Smackdown vs Raw 2011 and 2010 and 2009 games I put them in an fatal fourway ironman match with pinfalls, submissions and out of 13 matches in a row and the most victories went to : Jason Voorhees & Jason X proving that Jason would win in an all out fight no matter what.
I visited my dads old home (my Grandmothers home) and my uncle was watching this movie, and I got a glimpse of the very end where Freddy does the creepy wink. I didn’t know what the movie was until I rediscovered it when I was 10 years old
Just found this channel yesterday, day 2 into a serious binge and I must say I have no idea what the charm is about this channel but I'm defiantly into it. Haven't checked to see if your still uploading videos but god I hope you are!
When you fell off the roof, ain't gonna lie, kept thinking of your It miniseries review and telling off adult Bill and Mike for fooling around on Silver! "Stop fooling around before you break your damn hip!"
It's all finally over and what a way to go. I loved the review Decker. Especially that ending scene with you and your doubles. Have to admit that I'm curious what you have planned coming up since you're probably drowning in so many suggestions from fans that looking at the comments section too long could give you a headache.
Here is my question about this movie. How did Freddy hold his own in a real world fight with Jason? I get him having the advantage in the dream but in the real world Jason should have torn him two and moved on.
You can clearly see that Freddy is still kinda super--human, Not very many people can survive getting their arm getting ripped off while being stabbed by a machete and getting pierced through the torso.
Speed m8. Jason is inhumanely strong and kinda un-killable by conventional means, but he moves very slowly and deliberately. Kind of like Darth Vader, he can be quick but not F A S T. Where as Freddy is a jumping bean with finger knives.
i always took it as while Freddy lost his dream powers he personally retains his strenghth and inmortality, and he is way faster than jason, add the fact that he attacked Jason dead on, unlike most people who just run and become easy prey
Great Review as always Decker! (Bonus points for having Creepy along for the ride) It's been one heck of a summer watching you review both Friday the 13th and Nightmare films. Keep up the good work dude!
I know I'm probably nit picking here, but is this movie establishing that Freddy can leave Springwood again after the sixth movie? Springwood is in Ohio and Camp Crystal Lake is in Blairstown, New Jersey. So this mean Freddy found Jason in a dream (which is fine) but he left his home turf, and then Jason walks all the way to Ohio and not kills anyone along the way? That's the part I call bull on.
Justified Wiener Okay, I'll give you one point for the Manhattan part. But how does Jason know who the kids of Elm Street are? For all he knows, any one walking down Elm Street would fall into this "kid" listening even if they don't live on Elm Street.
I actually love this movie. It's a simple premise with some...questionable acting at times. However, when you go in to watch a movie titled "Freddy VS Jason". Now if we could get MORE slashers in this. Here's a simple plot idea: When one opens the Lament Configuration, it unleashes Pinhead, but this time, Pinhead has brought some friends to spread pain and pleasure; Freddy Krueger, Jason Vorhees, Michael Myers, and Leatherface. And only one guy can stop them. A man with a shotgun and a MOTHERFUCKIN' CHAINSAW HAND...Ash Williams.
"but oh no jason's being electrecoted." "so what. for him that's like finding a one up mushroom in mario brothers." the irony in that sentence is so real.

Don't raise it slowly, show some pride in the fact! Thrust your fist up in the air and roar out "I DID!!"
rude
As did i
Whoever was that guy that prophesized that he'd be on his roof for the final video: you're amazing.
Can we get a review of the saw franchise? No? Just me? Ok....
Buckhop6 Wait until next October
RedgraveKennedy he should do it for the summer before the next film comes out next year
I'm from the future and in the summer of 2020 he starts reviewing the series
@@ScotMorleyBro Don't tell him about the rest of 2020....it should be a surprise....
32:00 that door knock scared the shit out of me, thought someone was at my front door, funny thing is it scared me more than the movie did
Fantastic way to end your summer of reviews. Always love a good cross-over.
Brad reviewed it too. 🤔
ti's to bad they never got ash vs. freddy vs. jason on screens.
Ash vs Jason vs Pinhead vs Tommy vs Freddy. Best five some in history by far.
Billy Gawt pinhead would win no doubt
alien vs Predator vs Freddy vs Jason
Freddy vs Jason vs Ash vs Chucky vs Leprechaun vs Pinhead vs Michael vs Norman vs Leatherface with special guests Jay and Silent Bob
The comic was shit so im glad it didnt happen
decker can you please review the child's play series for October please
He should do Halloween
dude, yes, please review the child's play series! when I first found his channel, I thought he already did, and was disappointed to find out he never did.
And yes, I thought he did Halloween also. Do Halloween also!
No. Halloween. I *really* want to hear what he has to say about the atrocity that is Halloween: Resurrection.
or texas chainsaw
he has that video look it up.
The actor who plays Will is the guy who voiced Dipper in "Gravity Falls", BTW.
wait Freddy makes a cameo in gravity falls!...CONNECTION!!!!!
Coincidence... I think not!!!
and in Rick and Morty!!! And we know that GF and R&M universes ARE connected. So it means that Freddy, Jason, Dipper and Morty live in the same creative universe!
well freddy appears in the journal, in the episode with the ghost lumberjack
Mafon2 really? They're connected?
I knew Creepy was gonna say it and I totally agree. Kane Hodder should've played Jason.
Nostalgia Critic just reviewed this and your review is better.
EVERY review Decker has done that NC also did has been better. Decker is a better entertainer. Front to back, top to bottom. Doug Walker isn't funny.
@@SuperKamiGuru-i3c the skits Doug does gets annoying
To be fair, when was the last that NC made a review that was worth a damn?
I feel kinda bad criticizing NC here but I also don't like NC as I feel his reviews aren't genuine in that they cling to what is already popular opinion leading to what are oftentimes very denigrating movie reviews. Decker's reviews are definitely more genuine and more constructively criticized and fair.
I like him way more than the “nostalgia critic” he’s actually funny and doesn’t come off as a pretentious jerk like “Nostalgia critic” does.
Hey decker since it's going to be October and Halloween is around that month how about doing a Halloween-athon or a scream-athon
Yes I was think about that of course
Ill be there.
THE SUMMER OF HALLOWEEN if that makes sense.
THE MONTH OF MICHAEL MYERS
What has more sequels than Friday the 13th and nightmare on elm street? Puppet master why not. Review this series man it has
Decker I love revisiting your Summer Specials everyone should, I do look forward to every new video you do
I feel like this movie came out twenty years late.
because it did
Yes think. But that fight was balls to the wall
I'd say about 10ish years too late.. Nightmare on Elm St came out in 84 so when this came out in 2003 it was barely 20 years lol. But I get your point that yes, this did come out a bit later than it should have.
Well 20 years would put it before the release of Elm Street. 10 years too late definitely
Well that would be impossible because A Nightmare on Elm Street wasn’t even 20 years old at the point of this movies release
It is actually the final day of summer. Well done decker, you get a cookie.
Wow, Alex Jones got famous and good at acting XD
I liked the " man the torpedoes " line
because Robert Englund ad libbed that line
I KNEW HE'D BE ON HIS ROOF! Thanks Decker!
In all honesty, I think jason versus micheal myers would have been awesome.
neither one speaks.it would be zzz zzz
Freddy works (with either jason or myers) cuz he talks madd shit
Myers can't work because his canon counterpart is only a Human with a insane pain tolerance.
I legit love how elm street is so close to Camp Crystal lake..
the brawl between the two is actually quite impressive in truth. Freddy having to be a bit more swift in his hand to hand without going into kung fu territory, and Jason, well, being a freaking juggernaut that is pure power and defense.
That tank of white fluid Jason slashed open...was that Cetrosil White from Star Trek?
Decker, you should really think about covering the hatchet movies, it has kane hodder as the killer and by god does it have some amazing kill scenes
In the third one, Derek Mears is a SWAT guy and fights Victor...and is slaughtered way too quickly. Still, it was a nice nod to slasher fans ☺️
Alcohol actually stops REM sleep though and thus, the girl in the cornfield wouldnt of been able to be attacked by Freddy cuz she wouldnt be dreaming
Decker, I think tv channels are stealing your ideas.
after you start a new series, I have noticed that series is played a lot on tv
during Tremtober, the first 4 movies were being marathoned over and over, and I just saw the friday the 13th movies on tv recently, and they ended it with freddy vs jason (and then I watched carrie)
#DeckermustreviewCarrie
@6:55....well considering the fact that they are just average teenagers and the nature of how Trey was killed, more the way the bed was folded upwards in half with Trey in half, and the fact that they all ran outside screaming out of their minds for help instead of just trying to sneak away and the fact that they flagged down the cop when they saw him instead of trying to hide, it's actually not surprising that they weren't arrested for murder because there is no way average teenagers could do that. Now one could say well any average teenager could inflict those kinds of stab wounds but again, going back to how the bad was folded in half
Deckor, your friend sounds so dead inside
Decker you should spend next summer reviewing the SAW series. Get this "the summer, of sawwwwwwwwwwww"
Now that you said that kid's dad looks like Alex Jones, I can't un-see it. "I DON'T LIKE THEM PUTTING CHEMICALS IN CRYSTAL LAKE THAT TURN THE FREAKIN' JASONS GAY!"
Lmao
A modern Friday the 13th movie wouldn't show teens doing drugs.
Freddy vs Jason
we the fans waited for an
unrated WWF extreme rules last man standing match , instead we got a PG era WWE tv match that was disappointing .
I built :
Jason Voorhees
Jason X
Freddy Krueger
Michael Myers
on my WWE Smackdown vs Raw 2011 and 2010 and 2009 games I put them in an fatal fourway ironman match with pinfalls, submissions and out of 13 matches in a row and the most victories went to :
Jason Voorhees
&
Jason X
proving that Jason would win in an all out fight no matter what.
I visited my dads old home (my Grandmothers home) and my uncle was watching this movie, and I got a glimpse of the very end where Freddy does the creepy wink. I didn’t know what the movie was until I rediscovered it when I was 10 years old
Only channel i watch ads on. Stay awesome dude.
Just found this channel yesterday, day 2 into a serious binge and I must say I have no idea what the charm is about this channel but I'm defiantly into it. Haven't checked to see if your still uploading videos but god I hope you are!
Wait, is there a third Decker now? Or is Creepy behind it?
I'm pretty sure it was Creepy. He can blame me all he wants, I don't know where they came from....
+ThatLongHairedCreepyGuy where was chibi Thulu in this?
ThatLongHairedCreepyGuy The movie or the show?
When you fell off the roof, ain't gonna lie, kept thinking of your It miniseries review and telling off adult Bill and Mike for fooling around on Silver! "Stop fooling around before you break your damn hip!"
So Freddy kills one person in the whole film?
Top notch reviews man, these've all been just luverly : D
jason played by Jon Kirzinger not Kane Hodder
GOD DAMMIT!
* Ken Kirzinger
I do 😐
It's all finally over and what a way to go.
And getting their head chopped off. lol
Nagato Sora Like I said. Hulking brute vs Athletic Acrobat. It's kind of a hollywood/vidya trope at this point.
Nicely done!
I imagine you'll be taking a break after all this. You've certainly earned it.
Great Review as always Decker! (Bonus points for having Creepy along for the ride) It's been one heck of a summer watching you review both Friday the 13th and Nightmare films. Keep up the good work dude!
props to both you and Creepy. i watched all 20 vids this weekend and loved it. thanks again, gents.
They better release the 13th Friday the 13th Movie on Friday the 13th.
Absolutely fantastic review, you two; and a wonderful closing to the Summer of Freddy VS Jason!
If you loo closely when Jason is on fire. His mask is different
Freddy: Why wont you die?
Jason: Bitch, I'm already dead
I know I'm probably nit picking here, but is this movie establishing that Freddy can leave Springwood again after the sixth movie? Springwood is in Ohio and Camp Crystal Lake is in Blairstown, New Jersey. So this mean Freddy found Jason in a dream (which is fine) but he left his home turf, and then Jason walks all the way to Ohio and not kills anyone along the way? That's the part I call bull on.
In Jason takes Manhattan he passed people just fine without death, and his "mom" told him specifically to kill the "elm street kids"
Justified Wiener Okay, I'll give you one point for the Manhattan part. But how does Jason know who the kids of Elm Street are? For all he knows, any one walking down Elm Street would fall into this "kid" listening even if they don't live on Elm Street.
Plot, i don't know, plot reasons. lol
Justified Wiener Damn you plot and your lack of sense making!
I mean he did kill that one teens dad. It did seem like anyone on Elm Street was good enough.
still one of my fav summer flicks!would you believe I was 13 when this came out and I found out about it in a newspaper
Also this continuity was continued in comic form with Freddy vs Jason versus Ash Williams of Evil Dead which got a sequel as well.
I finally got my heavy metal intro
"but oh no jason's being electrecoted." "so what. for him that's like finding a one up mushroom in mario brothers."
the irony in that sentence is so real.
23:31 Drownding
I have been binge watching this channel for like a week. Love it! Subscribed. Just wanted to say thanks for the awesome content!
Legend says that THY WHO CLIMB ONTOPE OF A HOUSETOP SHALL REPLY

hey Decker, that is a big coincidence how we have very similar jackets, it's only pure coincidence, your guitar is awesome too
WHERE IS MY LORD AND MASTER CHIBI CTHULU
You touched that bass like freddy touches kids. I feel so bad for it.
