    Props for mentioning Devin Townsend. He's the one who got me into Evertune in the first place. Great video!

    I have a guitar with evertune bridge, and its really the best ive ever tried. Been playing guitar for 20 years now. And yes, you can bend the string exactly like on a normal guitar, and no, it's not complicated, and yes it keeps 100% perfect tune for months and months.

      I sincerely didn't get the purpose of the product. Why would I want to block such an expression tool as "bending"?Wouldn't just a fixed bridge do the job for intonation? I'm honestly puzzled.

    • @Rocktalk101
      @Rocktalk101 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@medonho I agree with you I really do not see the point other then that there main thing is it will stay in tune better when traveling to warm and cold climates and not be affected as much. But I will never have one on any of my guitars.

      @@Rocktalk101 I agree with you. As for climate a simple adjustment on the truss rod would do the job. maybe I'm not seeing the whole picture somehow. Oh, well... Cheers!

      @@medonho If you're tracking guitars there are tons of instances where you wouldn't want to bend. If a guitarist has a drop tuning and slams those bottom strings for the energy to ring through, you obviously don't won't the pitch to waver as a result.

      @medonho ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@secondslate7158 I see your point. Done that with a fixed bridge and everything went just fine. The thing is that it all depends, as you said, on the energy applied. Still it doesn't sell the product to me. Although I REALLY appreciate the engineering. Very clever.

    The ability to put 1-2-3 in zone 3 with 4-5-6 zone 2 really gives a player an edge on stage. Anyone ever broke a string during a bend on a Floyd? Yeah then it's time for another guitar really quick to finish the song. All time ya dont have during a show.

  • @MrSterlingsilver79

    So if youre in zone 3 the strings can go out of tune in the sharp direction correct? With this setup the saddle will only compensate for strings going flat correct?

    • @entropy1454
      @entropy1454 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      No, being in zone 3(or zone 1) at all means your tuning changes in both directions. You must be in zone 2 for any compensation. For it to compensate only for going flat, it has to be at the very end of zone 2, right before it goes into zone 3.

    If all the strings are set up to be outside the green zone and therefore bend as normal, will the evertune bridge still help to always keep the guitar in tune? Or does this only apply to strings which are in the green zone? Thanks!

    • @xNachtmahRx
      @xNachtmahRx 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Only in the green zone, but they assure you that even the bend zone stays better in tune than other fixed bridges

    • @MrSterlingsilver79
      @MrSterlingsilver79 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I think it would go out of tune sharp but not flat. If you were bending a lot and you had the saddle all the way up the string might go flat, the saddle would move back to compensate and then subsequent bends would require more bend to reach the same pitch.

  • @matt-770
    @matt-770 ปีที่แล้ว

    So the saddle housing moves independently of the of the bridge?

  • @djh5755

    🤔 If if this technology could be incorporated into a tremolo system you might be on to something. But if you have a standard type bridge guitar how hard is it to tune, Especially with locking tuners. Maybe I'm just too old school to get it.😏

    • @Fleetmenace
      @Fleetmenace 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It eliminates the need for tuning the guitar at all really. And with moving the guitar. Say i take my guitar out of a cold basement upstairs into a warmer room, the guitar stays in tune no matter what temperature the room is

    • @entropy1454
      @entropy1454 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Zone 1 is where the strings aren't up to pitch yet, zone 2 is where it is at pitch, zone 3 is when you have exceeded the compensation range, meaning the bridge isn't actually doing anything anymore.

    I like innovation and this is an interesting concept but it seems to me you still are going to be messing with your tuning keys. If your keys are bumped, it can take you away from the edge of zone 2 that allows for expression. Tell me if I'm wrong here...
