I love to watch your videos because you are actually journaling and preserving memories. I feel like that is the true purpose of the journals and sometimes it's forgotten. I have to get better at pulling out the ephemera I want to use ahead of time. It seems to make the process so much easier.
Your layouts are great. I love the way you put colors together. They are not perfectly matchy matchy, but still cohesive and I like that. That looks like the Fujifilm Instax polaroids. Right? They make a little Fujifilm Instax printer, that uses the same film you put in the camera. You can download an app and it connects wirelessly to your cell phone. Then you can print out those little polaroids just like if you were taking a picture. There is less waste on the film that way. The camera reminds me of the polaroid cameras we used back in the day. I'm old. lol.
Hi, I have to say that you're my n°1 TH-camr. I really love the way you imagine the spread, how you use the most simple sheet or ephemera from the everyday. The new version of the presentation of the video seems you chat with a friend and it's very nice. Thanks for sharing. Wish you the best from south of France
LOL! Johanna! I do that too with the instax!!! I haven't used my camera in a long time because I never seem to get the exposure correct! Love that I'm not the only one!
Hi Johanna, I'm enjoying the way you're filming the different views throughout your process. How do you feel about working chronologically? I know you mentioned before it would be a challenge. I love your spread and the colors you choose are gorgeous. I love it! 🥰 Your kiddos are getting so big. 😊
@@JohannaClough That's actually my challenge. I stare at the blank pages for a while before I can actually think of something. lol I'm so happy it works for you. I love all the ideas you give me. 🥰
I’m laughing at your over exposed instax because it’s so painfully true! We bought our 3 daughters each a camera like that in their teen years and let me tell you the howls theses over exposed first pictures brought were priceless! Some from mom as it’s is very expensive for tossing! I have many a blurred, or bright instax pictures I pack around lol. I really like to look and feel somewhat like they have a bit more value when you have to plan 12 pictures they just seem more special to me. This page looks great 😊 I’m really getting a feel for the plain tea dyed papers and thinking I may have to be brave and try some in my next journal! Thanks Johanna 😁
I am really inspired by your videos,. Thank you! Yesterday i was looking back through a 20 year old scrapbook and to my dismay, things I'd put in with double sided tape are coming loose, as are some stickers. Everything I stuck with PVA or clear glue is fine, but now I have some repair work to do on the rest. Some of these "easy" adhesives are not standing the test of time, sigh.
Hi there! I like to work chronological in my junk journals. This journal is big.. I’ve made one like that too .. very fun! I enjoy your videos you make everything look so easy :) thanks for sharing!
So beautiful. My boys and I are so anxious for summer; I rollerblade while they skateboard and scooter. But, Summer won't arrive here in Canada for 4 more months! 😟😁
Loving the way you're journalling chronologically, and that quote is sound advice! Saying this as a recovering perfectionist :) One question: do you have your photos laminated for protection? Because I keep hearing that tea and coffee-dyed papers are not great for archival because of the acid content, and I wonder how that might affect the photos? I work with newspaper clippings a lot, I love having a documentary vibe to my journals, and although I've seen people add warnings about that, I think newspaper clippings can actually be preserved quite well if you take good care of the journals. Also, how good do you think naturally dyed papers are in terms of archival quality?
I am not personally concerned with things gradually degrading, I use an array of found and old items in my journals that would not be archival quality and i find beauty in aged old scrapbooks so if mine become that way I am okay with that, it tells the story of time ☺️ on another note i did add some bicarb soda to my tea dye this time to help neutralise the ph to a degree, but generally I don’t really care for my personal journals xx
Hi from Brisbane 🌸 Thank you for sharing. 🌷May I ask what made you decide to journal chronologically? After many years of stress and losing my creative groove I was freed when I saw you initially journaled on any page any day. I was wondering why you changed. You can do whatever you want of course😊 I guess the ‘no rules’ approach has helped me make a start and your videos inspire me even though I still have minimal mojo. I even coffee dyed paper and have made my first journal using the method you mostly use. 💪🏼 😊🌸
I’ve been journaling non-chronologically for many years which has helped me feel so care free about journaling. This time I just wanted to change it up for myself and I feel no stress about journaling chronologically this time. Although if i feel i want to jump pages in this journal at any time I will do so! Still no rules! ☺️

Your more 'simple' spreads still always turn out so beautiful! Love the tips you've been including! TFS 💕

It really helps me to hear you talk through your design. I ❤️ Instax and use most of the “bad” shots too!
LOL! Johanna! I do that too with the instax!!! I haven't used my camera in a long time because I never seem to get the exposure correct! Love that I'm not the only one!
Love your process videos, they always inspire me. Keep up the great work :)

I thought it would be a challenge but it’s really not, the plainer pages make it easier to make each page whatever you like it to be 🥰

How do your pages turn so easily when sewn in? Mine always seem stiff, my journal will not stay open unless I’m holding it open...
Which glue do you use for this? Mine does never really fits perfect on the pages...
I use a variety of types of glues depending on the piece i’m sticking down!
Hi would you mind if I share your journaling prompts with my Facebook journaling group? Of course, I’ll give you credit. 😍 It’s a great list.
No problem! ♥️

it must be amazing to live in a competent country that doesnt need masks anymore😩 thank you for inspiring me and my art🤍🤍
Hallo Johanna, do you have a naevus on your finger for long time or is it new. Then please go to the Doctor.
It was just a pen mark 😅
