From what I've read, it's not the newer Xboxes that are blocking the DIY cards. It's the firmware on newer versions of these SSDs that prevent them from being used in the expansion slot.
That's interesting. The reason I believed it could be console related is I was told by another content creator that their friend had a working DIY drive, which they put it into a newer console. That console complained about it. Then after that the drive no longer functioned in their console where it worked fine previously. Hence the conclusion it was related to the newer consoles on his part. Can you tell me where you read that? I'd like to see what their doing for tests etc... Honestly, I'm not sure if that theory makes sense to me either. I'm thinking about what I've heard from another creator that made their drive around the same time frame I did. Theirs didn't work, and obviously all three of mine did. The only confirmed difference I know of was their console was just under 2yrs newer than mine (at the time), the NVMe though most likely would have been very similar in age. Hmm... Based on this info though, I'm tempted to grab another NVMe, but there's no way of knowing how old it is. My drives were purchased around mid 2022 if I recall correctly.

You are correct, this appears to be the case. So unless there's a tool that allows a firmware flash out there... it seems we are SOL...
