Thanks so much for all the important information you provide in this video. Most ppl do table reviews which really doesn’t say anything about the real quality of the tool. I didn’t like (and didn’t know) that Leatherman saws cut only in one direction; that’s pretty f*cked up. Also, I don’t like the flex when applying torque. For a multi tool that expensive, I would expect that those pliers are able to handle torque without flexing. I was thinking about buying one now that they have a 25% discount, but I’m buying a Victorinox with the valuable information you provided here. Thanks a lot.
Great review. Probably the first time ive seen anyone using the screwdrivers on video. The frame does seem a lot weaker on this one. I wish the blade had notch more like the wave/charge/surge rather than a thumb stud.
Worst multitool they've ever made. I've had two. Both had major frame flex, both had a godawful heat treat on their blades so they wouldn't hold or take an edge, both had wire cutters fail on wire that even Gerber's carbide cutters go through like butter, and the obsidian one's scissors couldn't even cut a thread that was hanging off of my shirt. I've owned nearly every Leatherman model ever made and the Arc is by far the lowest quality one ever. Seriously. Even the Rev is higher quality than the two Arcs I had and it costs less than a quarter of the Arc's price. I'll stick to my Charge+ TTI, Wave, and Surge
Could you imagine wasting so much money for a supposedly strong, well made and expensive tool in order to be thinking that they might break or damage while doing some work? Like you said, Inwoild stock to all those tools you mentioned. I prefer the Surge.
@Renku07 exactly. I bought the original Arc when it first released. Sold it within a week. About a year later, the Obsidian version came out and I had some extra cash so I decided to give the Arc a second chance only to be disappointed yet again
@@dualsportoutdoors I was thinking about buying the Arc, but I was skeptical about its toughness as a too. I saw it was too beautiful. Also, ppl in TH-cam bragged more about its ability to be one handed than its capability to handle tough work. Also, it doesn’t have a serrated blade. The Surge is better equipped and less expensive (though still expensive).
@@Renku07 put it this way, I live on a ranch, I'm a blue collar worker, I'm a woodsman, hunter, fisherman, and adventure bike rider. The two Arcs I had left me not trusting them for any of those things. It's a collector or office worker's tool
Mine is a very early one by the date on the handles and I can say that the tools themselves are great, even the scissors, and the knife is a step higher. It flexes a lot but it doesn't brake and it's still straight. The only thing that I noticed is that I scratched the wire cutters just with cutting guitar strings and now they can get caught when closing the tool. Now I just use my LM freestyle that had non replaceable wire cutters and always works well when doing this stuff. I think that old gen wave and surge are precious
STAY AWAY from Leatherman. I paid them $240 for an Arc and paid extra to engrave my name on it, only to get the item and it looks like the engraving was done by a 3 year old. When I called them, they were snooty and only offered the $12 engraving fee back. The item is horrible looking with the engraving, as is their customer service.

Wow, that's bad. They should have refunded you for the entire price
