Kalevalan kahdeksas runo
Kotimatkalla Väinämöinen kohtaa Pohjan neidin ja pyytää tätä puolisokseen. Neiti antaa Väinämöiselle eri haasteita. Venettä veistäessään Väinämöinen lyö kirveelle jalkaansa ja lähtee etsimään parantajaa, joka tyrehdyttäisi verenjuoksun.
Eight poem
On his way home, Väinämöinen meets the daughter of Pohja and wants her as his wife. The lady gives him several impossible challenges, which Väinämöinen completes without much trouble, but as he's making a boat for her, his axe slips and cuts him. He goes to seek a healer to stem the blood flow.

Harvoin yhtehen yhymme, saamme toinen toisihimme. Sipo huitelee pitkin lapinmaita, palaa kyllä vielä laulelemaan ja nauhoittaa muutaman runon luultavasti itsekin.
