    Love all the ideas! A suggestion for a change to the pool noodle hacks for safety: use velcro ties rather than zip ties to secure the noodle around the tool. They are inexpensive and come in many lengths. To fit around the noodle and still secure easily, they need to be longer than 8" (that only just makes it around the noodle; so 10" or 12" ones would be needed,
    Using velcro ties means they can be used over and over again (rather than having to use new ones each time they are removed for tool use), and when the tool in in use, the velcro ties can be easily stored on the noodle..
    Using velcro ties may not work for the case of the rake turned into a squeegee because they might not hold or would be scraped away, but I might still try them first and see.

    • @tonibroaddus
      @tonibroaddus ปีที่แล้ว +3

      At least with velcro you would still be able to use the rake as a rake

    Regarding concerns about using cable ties for fastening the rake, does anyone remember string? Tie, untie, reuse several times. Because string can be cinched tightly enough to compress the noodle material, it is not rubbed through quickly.

    Re the lemon, I wouldn’t use it unless the seedling is a plant that really really likes an acidic environment. A better alternative is an eggshell. Also don’t leave the soil on top of the growth point like in the video because the delicate baby plant may have trouble pushing up through it.

    • @mrss4328

      Growing a lemon in a lemon rind is probably the best place for it to grow. Egg shell offers calcium. Lemon rind provides everything lemon used to grow into a lemon.

      Pipe insulation isn’t the same. It’s not nearly as firm and wouldn’t stand up to the compression if that ladder was at any more of an angle. It would just flatten or get sliced into, and eventually tear or fall off. Just because they are the same shape doesn’t mean they are the same thing.
