      Yea, he’s such an awesome looking character. But I knew he’d have issues just from the complainants of the action figures. I’ve heard a ton of good things from the model, since he’s lightweight, so its less stress on the joints and he’s able to support his weight so much better.

    Tough break Jorge, I think waiting is great advice. My PO of this figure arrived in rough shape with a piece broken off in the bottom of the box. The good news is that I was able to return it for a refund, but I'd rather of had a quality figure to display. Hot Toys don't always arrive in new condition either, but so far single part replacements have solved the odd case of this happening. I wonder if Grievous is just too difficult as a figure, but it would be interesting to see a Hot Toys try. Aside from that a good statue would need to have some swap out arms in my opinion.

    My mom spent a lot of time, money, and effort to get me this figure for my birthday. The joints were all nice and tight, except for the elbow swivel of one of the split arms. I had it for about a month when I decided to swap his four arms back to his two, when the left single arm literally exploded, sending tiny translucent pieces all over my white carpeted floor. I tried to piece it all back together, but I lost a piece and couldn't get the two elbow halves back together. So I tried to perform some minor surgery in hopes of getting everything back together, but to no avail. I wouldn't be so upset if this was my fault, but I literally hadn't touched that arm in over a week. Very disappointed with SideShow. First figure with them started out good, but now I'm not to pleased. For something of this price point, that joint should have been glued together or something.

    I bought this guy back in December from a seller at a Comic Convention, was still sealed within the shipping box and everything. I knew that the figure had it's issues from reviews, but the guy offered me a better price than the website where I wanted to buy it, so I took that chance and...risk at that.
    After seeing reviews like yours I was pretty afraid to even take the guy out of his box, afraid of breaking of joints and everything.
    But surprisingly I'm happy to report that nothing broke and everything on the figure is sturdy and doesn't break, except the right hip joint, that thing is just way too loose for my liking.
    It really sucks when Sideshow promises improvements but ultimately does nothing but disappoint buyers.
    Really liked your review and how you pointed out the potential dangers that can occur when moving this guy around, especially when the arm just FELL OFF, must have been really frustrating!
    Anyway thanks for the review, definitely will be leaving a sub and looking forward to future uploads!

    Bought this figure when it was on sale and figured why not. I saw instantly that I was having trouble with posing and with loose joints but figured that was standard, I was new to own sideshow figures! I’m at the point not where the arms don’t stick, and similar to shown in the video, the arm has certain plastic joints that just separate and I can not put them back together. I’d send it back but all of these problems came to my attention after the first 30 days, and seeing the whole internet’s reaction to this figure I wish I had done my research before buying!

The best I have is the 3in1 deluxe ROTJ Luke from Sideshow - but even that had the ugliest light Saber paint I've ever seen and his legs just flop about 🤦‍♂️
      Every Sideshow figure I have is basically kitted with Hot Toys everything just to get them to look decent next to my hot toys figures lol.
      I lie!!!! My Sideshow duel on Naboo Darth Maul is flawless (except horrible lightsaber paint but ebay and Hot Toys accessories for the win, again lol) his face is better than any Hot Toys release, including brand new pre order ones, his outfit is flawless and fits perfect, wires in the best places, boots are flawless, just gorgeous figure. Wonder if Hot Toys might be getting set to release their version of Grievous in the next year or so. Seems Sideshow always tries to get their version of a particular figure out before HT since theirs will blow Sideshow's version out of the water. Grogu and Jedi Luke are 2 examples i can think of. Regardless its pretty damn low of Sideshow just doing a straight re-release of this figure w/out fixing the major issues the 1st one had. I never picked this up when it 1st came out and will avoid this even now. Thanks for 'taking one for the team' ....so to speak. I think Grievous as a statue would look incredible. However, there’s so much flimsy elements that even my own tiny hands would break something. It is a shame because Grievous, on its own, is a nice hybrid of cybernetics and flesh. Regardless of his pitiful role in Episode III, he still has exceptional design.
    But QC should be a priority. I can only wish the best for every fan… but you should get in contact with the brand as a consumer and tell them how it is. If it’s true that they sent “bad batches”, no pun intended, then QC is not even considered when shipping…

    Hottoys should just take over for sideshow’s scaled figures. The quality is just way better and their facemolds are more accurate.

    I have the original 2014 version. Mine was actually fine… Except for the stand. Mine took a nice 6-foot shelf dive after 2 weeks being on display from opening because the hinge joint on the stand failed. Snapped a shoulder peg and got a big ol’ stress mark in the saber. My roommates started calling him “General Buyer’s Remorse” when they found out how much I paid.
    He’s since been fixed, and the stand was solid after a floor polish treatment. Such a shame though that the second run is such hot garbage.

    Day 1 on release day...mine broke from the pelvic area..the plastic part where both legs hold broke on me. Looks like an easy fix but mine is still in the box because I moved out of state and now I plan on just leaving it there.

    I wanted this figure but I was always tend to wait for release so I'm pretty glad I waited as I've seen a lot of people complaining about this figure. Wish they did some die-cast parts because just fully plastic just makes it feel like an overpriced Hasbro black series figure. They could've easily done something like Hot Toys IG-11 where he was a mix of die-cast and plastic

  • @edbelle1168
    @edbelle1168 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    My 2014 is ok. So far no problem but I really don't mess with him too much
    Looks like sideshow just had excess stock sitting around a hot warehouse and just re issued him
    The should have made all the joints die cast and diecast from the waist down with full ratchet joints
    But they are to cheap to make changes like that 😕

  • @darthqui-gon5986
    @darthqui-gon5986 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I don't care what anyone says this is an impressive figure. Are there issues, yes. But there's also ways around that. I bought a dynamic stand and Museum putty. With the stand you can pose him in anyway you can think of it holds the figure around the waist making for kneeling or all four lightsabers stepping over a dead Clone. The museum putty tightens the holes/pegs making again for more Dynamic poses. Should you have to buy extra things to make him work better no. Hopefully Hot Toys will get around to making him, but if you like this figure pick up these extra couple things for greater fun posing him.

    Honestly, my Lego general Grievous feels better built. I do kind of regret buying this one, but I still like it. I was hoping this figure would contain some diecast. Hopefully they make another one that is better.

    This was my first one sixth scale figure ever. I thought this was just how it was with sixth scale figures were. Fiddly and delicate and difficult to work with. That was until I got the Clone Wars Ahsoka from Hot Toys and realized how terrible Grievous. Its a real shame.

    Here’s a question for all, why are you not filling complaints with the BBB? This is equivalent to selling a car lemon. This to me is a serious issue with the collecting community that they complain but yet still buy it. By buying defective crap and not demanding complete correction they will keep pushing out this kind of garbage.

    This is why I avoid 1/6th or 1/4th figures like the plague and because their so damn expensive you’re literally at their whims of the seller/company to manufacture it correctly, 6inch will always be the way to go as you can get them to be fixed or can get replacements easier

    Oh man I watched the whole video I busted out laughing when you tried to stand him up but I’m feel your pain. I collect DC and I have the whole NEW52 DC line from Prime 1 and the only figure that I had hoped came perfect was my Flash figure and even though it’s still amazing the lighting doesn’t even connect to the pegs and even had to makeshift a piece to put at the foot so the one lighting bolt wouldn’t keep falling out. Paid over $700 and this is what you get. Just sad when it comes to quality especially when forking out so much cash but luckily the rest of my pieces have been on point but of course my favorite not so much.

    Hot Garbage. I got excited when Sideshow blatantly lied to our faces in their early promos stating the REISSUE would be “IMPROVED”. As soon as I saw the early reviews, I cancelled it immediately. Sideshow out right lied to collectors. I have not seen a company get away with such deceitful behavior, but I don’t see THAT much blow back so……..I think they are getting away with it…..
