I don't think that *all* music these days is bad. Plus, I don't think that all "old" music is that good either. However, I think music was more real back then. Of course, these days, there are people who sing very real songs, but if I listen to the music that's in the charts, or on the radio, I find it's all too similar, not necessarily because of the artists, but because of record labels and producers. These days, it's far more formulaic - have a metronomic beat, four different chords, and an auto-tuned vocal; everyone sounds the same. In terms of whether or not music is actually *better* , I'll admit, I haven't been dazzled by anything post 1995, however, I am a very hardcore Smiths fan, and I don't feel the same way about *anybody* , as I do about The Smiths. But my knowledge of most music post 2000 is based mainly on what I happen to catch on the radio, so I don't think I can truly generalise all modern music, based solely on what's most popular.
