I agree as well. In a small space it can be nice to keep the color palette small and the kitchen cabinet color is lovely.

Think of the positive of renting from your mom instead of someone else. The money goes to someone you love instead of a stranger and probably safety. I love that color green in your kitchen… I love this mug hooks. I just built my own cottage and it’s the little things that make it so homie.

Just finished reading Homesick about a woman who lives in a shed in Cornwall. I have been really interested in a housing situation over there as it's been so hard for the locals with the second homes taking over the place. Tiny home living is a sustainable way going forward. Wish owning one was much friendlier in terms of planning and legal side. Maybe in time when authorities are more open minded.

Lovely! A friend of mine built a tiny home on a trailer but no upstairs so his spare bed was also the kitchen 'bench'. We really can live in small spaces can't we. My house has no heating & I live in my bedroom all winter with an electric fire ;). Thank you for showing us.

Maybe you could have a nice wooden sheila maid drying rack hanging from the ceiling to store your coats on? They can come with a pulley system so are easy to use. It might be a handy place to put them if you want to get them out of the bathroom and would dry off better also. Happy Birthday!

If you ever add on or remodeling you tiny house, my friend had one custom built and she asked the builder to raise the roof for up stairs so you have good standing room, which she can fully stand up in it and built her in dressers and a closet.. He added a sunroof for her, and also put on top of part of it a solar power roof.. you can do solar power for cheap..

Lovely house! Couldn't help noticing that you don't have any plants though. How about one big plant in the living room? It would soften the whole feel and bring nature in.

Thank you for the tour. An idea for the step risers would be peel and stick tiles. They would be easy to wipe off and not show scuff marks.

The U.K can be quite difficult with tiny homes and land. Don't know how it is in Scotland, but I think in England, don't think it's as simple as buying land and putting a tiny home on it, not 100% sure. I wish they made it easier for tiny homes here!

Hello! For the stairs : what about doing them the same colour as the green cabinet doors? they'll look more like the cabinets they're on. I don't think it would be too much colour.

new viewer....in your bedroom maybe think about instead of doors to cover your clothes storage, what about roman blinds? they will be easy to open and close, where doors might be a problem opening with the mattress so close, also blinds are a soft texture, it will feel more soft and cozy...the wonderful thing about roman shades is you can pick your own color or print and the type of fabric...there are sewing patterns you can get to make them to keep cost down....just a suggestion... your house is lovely...about the long storage space..for lighting what about those light strips that you can get the LED ones on a battery to combat the darkness...depending on the things you have to store, can you install a shelf? or use the sides of the walls for vertical storage, metal baskets attached to the wall in rolls to store things, that way things would be stored on a shelf on one side and baskets on the other, you can maybe have more the one roll of baskets going horizontal side by side along the whole wall...and a shelf on the opposite wall...again depends on what you have to store, if it is big things, maybe hang on hooks, like a tent in a bag situation or with tools, store in those big cloth shopping bags and hang on a hook....just about anything can be put in the cloth grocery bags and hung on a hook....just a few ideas....you may not have enough width to have baskets on one side wall and a shelf on the other, but depending on your needs just do one of the storage...shelf or baskets, and hang hooks on the other wall....

I love the plan for the future wood stove; that'll be so cosy!! I think where the stairs are I would go-to-town on the vertical areas (the white and grey) and paint some wildflowers on them with a warm autumnal yellow background... You could make a theme out of it... with spring flowers, summer flowers and autumn flowers. Our home is small (especially for America); it's 600 square feet: one bedroom, one bathroom. Our main area is an autumnal yellow; we have some art where the frames are black, and this looks really pretty against the yellow. In our kitchen/entry area we have a blue/grey colour that compliments the yellow; it always reminds me of a beautiful moody sky... on a day where it might rain and sometimes does, but the grey, tinged with blue has a warmth to it. Between our loo and bedroom there is a small area, and that wall is grey; bedroom is a calming green (green that has grey in it); with one grey wall; loo is grey with sand coloured tiles. As you can tell I'm a fan of colour... and I really don't know what's in-vogue at the moment, I just surround myself with what makes me happy, and I can say - hand-on-heart - I love being in our small space, and one of the huge factors is the colours, especially the autumnal yellow of our main space with the blue/grey of the kitchen area, it's like the room is giving me a hug. ...For the steps: I would paint art on them, and then there has to be a way to seal it, so that you can just wipe it clean? Also, I think your bedroom area looks really nice with the closet things showing... to my eyes it all looks very tidy and welcoming in its own way, and gives a warmth and depth that a blocking off of the space would remove..? It feels more spacious to me somehow... the way you've arranged everything; just leaving it open. Hugs! And happy birthday!! xx

I think carrying on the same green from the kitchen cupboards onto your stair risers would look lovely.
