Mine were awful in high school. Screwed me over royally. It was a total popularity contest with them.

Needed this video. I’m going into my 10th grade year for basketball and the jv coach(really good coach with amazing concepts) moved up to varsity. So the new jv coach is running plays instead of concepts even though the varsity coach wants the programs to be connected(run concepts instead of set plays in modified jv and varsity) so yeah when the jv coach started doing that didn’t really agree with him and was a little disrespectful and disappointed because I was going from really effective concepts this year(8-0 and 3rd in the league) to set plays

Glad I was able to help you out my man. Share this with your teammates if you can. Lots of players out there are dealing with bad coaches. You gotta learn how to deal with them and still get what you need out of the situation. Much love!! 🖤✊🏾

So I just disagree with his coaching style and don’t think it’s a good idea

My coach is very dismissive when I expressed how other players were being distracting, over bubbly and chatty during demonstration and game which drains my love and energy for basketball, I get that it's done for it to be fun but there is time and place to be bubbly and chatty but during demonstration and practice I wanna be focused so that I can be a better player. He basically told me to "get over it" and told me he won't give me special treatment (of which I never asked for, I just wanted to be heard), we were draining each other so I left the team and played basketball by myself for fitness and leisure.

So for my situation I am one of the best players on my team if not the best. I want to play PG all the other players and coaches say I should be the point guard but the main coach wants me to play in the paint because I am one of the teller players on my team. But he wants to play his son at PG instead of me even thought I would be better at the position. So how should I go about trying to end up play PG or SG without being disrespectful?

How do you handle a high school coach who goes out of his way to constantly humiliate specific players. And Plays only his favorite upcoming freshman over existing juniors and seniors who have spent years and hours of practice to earn spots that have taken hard work and dedication

Great video! Question, my son is in junior high school and tried out for a basketball team. He is pretty good, passes well, and shoots pretty good too. He said he did pretty good during try outs but on the 3rd day he was cut. Lot of students were shocked that he was cut and it was talk of school for a week. But yet there were several students who couldn't even dribble right made the team. It is very confusing what happened. He is very good kid too and because he was in a football team he knows how to respect a coach.

@hooppolitics Nothing against you but my son goes to a D2 school that's only won 2 games. His coach is a poor leader of men who doesn't like JA game which equals next to very little PT. Mines kills at practice can't be stopped. GT on the bench! WestVaWesleyan maybe 4 to 6 games won in two seasons.
