Depends on your choice of stream. If you want to go into more of core electronics/ hardware and all then choose ECE . Or more of programming then take CSE

I am a mechanical engineer with approx 2 year experience and wanted to shift to IT industry just because of the growth(salaries) that i heard. I started learning Java and few thoughts coming everyday i.e --------------.. now the world is focusing more on software for packages and every one out there are doing some sort of courses to get into it and the new generation kids are learning it much earlier -which makes a good foundation and job ready ..........here my doubt is : if that huge number of people come into IT , WILL the market supports / that huge job openings will be available ? I was stepping back just because of this thoughts regarding the future in IT. I am able to grasp the concepts well (what ever was thought in course until now). If someone can share their view points .........it really helps me a lot ........ Thanks in advance
Hi, see no one knows about the market trends where it will lead in the next 10 years, but for sure as everything is coming online that being said there are so many advances in IT field and that too under that there so many things to do like trends are moving to IoT etc. Regarding if huge job openings will be available or not that is where the concept of keeping yourself relevant comes in picture. Even now a person learns new skills regularly just to stay valid in the market. All i believe that if you are true to your craft, nothing should impact your position in the future.
