Thanks 小胡。 In Malaysia earlier years when we still called Malaya, the Hainanese came from China to work here were with the British people in Fraser Hill. They learnt the English dishes from the English cook, included the scones. I was so blessed and fortunate to keep this recipe from my mom. I will be judging those hotels or places claimed they are serving English afternoon tea / high tea by looking at it, tasting their scones. My friends they all don’t really get me when the taste isn’t authentic at all. 非常挑剔。 😜😜😜. However, I will rather have my home made scone. All the manners you’ve mentioned and the way to enjoy the English afternoon tea are absolutely right. My late father still keeping the afternoon tea habit, tea with sugar and milk is a must, sometimes will also go with a toast. Love your video so much 💙💙💙
I was quite amused when you dipped a tea bag into a tall mug then the whole thing with string dropped into the hot water, and you had to scoop it out. It happened to me quite often as well then I became wiser by tying the string of the tea bag to the mug handle before I poured the hot water into the mug. It just makes me feel so much better to know that I was not the only one who had this misstep. LOL.
My favorite is Pu erh tea without sugar nor milk. The non sweet tea goes better with the sweets in the tea set. I also need the pu erh to digest the clotted cream (or Devonshire cream) with the scones. Yum !

我在伦敦体验过著名的丽滋下午茶。还要求着西装,打领带。除了感觉马卡龙太甜了之外。其它的都无可挑剔。我喜欢英国伯爵茶的特殊香味。优雅的氛围贯穿始终。欧洲的贵族文化在此窥见一斑。

@@WhosHU 很多中国人生活中吃过最甜的食物是巧克力,所以甜的接受度不高。许多颜色特别鲜艳的甜点比如马卡龙,纸杯蛋糕,焦糖蛋糕,以及许多欧洲特产糖果之类对我们就太甜了。
奥地利的小胡 Who's'HU 感觉德国的甜点挺不错的特别是cream cake,但是在英国和美国几乎所有的蛋糕底都是baking powder和butter,再加上butter cream icing。对很多国家的人来说都特别甜特别厚重。
