Tips if you want to try again:
Try to keep your hair wet the whole time.
Tilt head BACK when applying AVC rinse. Better it run down your back than in your eyes.
Aim for about a 1:1 ratio clay to liquid for your clay mask. About like pudding.
Yes, it bubbles. The clay is alkaline, the vinegar is acid.
Yes, you should condition after the mask.
Do your leave-in in the shower.
I don't know if you styled your hair wet or dry, but wet. :)

Thank for being realistic because I also have 4c hair like yours

I think you might be the first person I've seen on TH-cam do this that has 4c hair. This is realistic. 4c hair won't have that 4a curl pattern without manipulation

Very funny video 😂! The thing is that's just a modified version of the original MHM. When you first get started the Cherry Lola or Caramel Treatment is needed. It's a diy protein treatment with the use of baking soda. You could just skip that part, clarify your hair with a clarifying shampoo and follow up with a good protein treatment mask. This is usually done once a month or as you needed.
Then comes the regular wash day routine. Step one is the clarifying part which advises to dilute apple cider vinegar or baking soda with water. The use of a regular shampoo is enough if you do the modified version. Apple cider vinegar is perfect in removing hard water residue but other than that, I doubt it will clean the hair the way a shampoo can do. Why do all this? Is just to get the cleanest hair without any buildup from oils, butters and other products. This way your hair will be more open to suck the conditioner in.
Step two is the conditioning part where you warm up your conditioner or use heat to deep condition or deep condition overnight and detangle the hair. Since this method was created for low porosity hair, people think that only heat can raise the cuticle so that conditioning agents can get inside.
Step three is the clay part. Depending on how you mix it for ex. with water, the ph can be quite high. This is why your hair felt rough. It's better to mix it with apple cider only, that way you'll have a mask with a ph around 5. Just like most of regular hair care brands. The clay mask kind of further detoxes your hair, removes buildup and clumps your hair strands. It's better not to let the clay mask harden on your hair, it can break if you're not careful enough. Why do it this way? Leave-in conditioners will soak in better instead of just sitting on top of the hair and since the ph is low, it will also close the cuticles.
The last step is the leave-in conditioner and gel part. It's advised to use botanical products like the Kinky Curly brand. You apply everything in small sections on wet hair. This will give you better definition. Pinkecube, the original creator said to do the regular wash day routine everyday for a whole week 😂and than every 3 days. The job of the gel is to seal the hair strands. She believed it does a better job than oils and also said not to use gels like Eco Styler. But it's up to you and how you have time. By doing regular washngos over time, your hair strands will start to clump on their own and you'll need less products. When doing the MHM it's also better NOT 🙈to use additional raw oils and betters. It will prevent type 4b/c strands from clumping and getting hydrated which is the whole idea behind the MHM.
Sorry for this very long post, but I hope you don't mind and can make it better next time you try it out. You'll have better results 😊. I'm a new subbie!!❤️

You may have high porosity hair like I do. I don’t see this working for our hair. The best way to hydrate high porosity hair is to moisturize the roots, just like a plant. 🥳🌱 The best way to retain length and curl pattern is to do very small two strand twists or individual braids after moisturizing, then sleep on it. I’ve done this for almost 20 years. Lately, I discovered that shea butter works wonderfully for moisturizing my hair, and peppermint Castile soap cleans it the best. I gave up all products that aren’t 100% natural. I cut off all my hair 2 years ago and decided to grow it back. Using the Castile soap and shea butter has given me most hair growth and best curl pattern I’ve ever seen in all of my years being natural!

    The MHM works for me…
First I stay in the shower and never let my hair get dry..
clarify shampoo. ACV rinse, deep conditioner, mask…
Add olive oil with leave in conditioner lastly and I’m good to air dry it diffuse
Last approx 7 days with a bonnet in the evening

People overcomplicate it. You need moisture/protein balance. Too much moisture can lead to damaged hair. Same with too much protein. Keep it moisturized and do daily scalp massages and very lightly therapeutics hair pulling.

I did a lot of research on this and from what I’ve heard, you’ll notice results after your first use but for it to be more effective you want to do it more than one time. Try doing it once every two weeks.

Thank you for the laugh 😂 😂😂. I myself wash my hair first with a clarifying shampoo the the apple cider vinegar ( I leave this on for about 20-30 minutes with a plastic cap) then use deep conditioner under hair dryer on medium heat for 30 to 1 hour. This is what works for me.

Yes you’re correct that these videos that show conditioning before clay mask do not make sense. If they are getting results it is simply the clarifying step that is creating the results.

You did the clay mask all wrong. The mask is supposed to be done before anything else - pretty much on dirty hair. The clay sucks all impurities from the hair and scalp. Then you rinse it completely out...I repeat...rinse it out completely. Then use conditioner. Rinse and style as desired.
You should not shampoo and use the clay. The clay is the cleanser.
You could have damaged your hair badly by cleansing it first, then applying the clay.

Your hair won’t turn out right if you never completely detangle your hair

  • @lesliewit
    @lesliewit 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

I'm going to be honest I had the same effect. Which was basically no change. Maybe your hair is just hydrated so the maximum hydration method can't do anything for you. That's what I think my story is.

You did it only once Ma'am. Your butt won't grow in one workout. You won't lose weight in skipping one meal. It also depends on how dry your hair is and its porosity. XoXo.
