As a real fan of anthropology, archaeology and paleontology, I am always delighted with their work. Tuomas keeps humanity's beginnings in mind with his work. The archeological site in Pennsylvania is named Alpenglow because the partner of the original discoverer of the site is such a NW fan. The Alpenglow site is connected to another site that is a very primitive "Stonehenge", that has been proven to be an incredibly early form of astrological calender. The Alpenglow site was where the " astrologers" would camp. Apparently, we were THERE.
One of my new favorite new Nightwish songs! It is so upbeat and positive....how can you not be happy listening to this song! I get Floorgasms for the whole song!!!! Now....I just have to paint a landscape with the mountains in the background and Allen glow being in full effect!!! Just for you Jen...they definition of what Allen glow is: Strictly speaking, alpenglow refers to indirect sunlight reflected or diffracted by the atmosphere after sunset or before sunrise. This diffuse illumination creates soft shadows in addition to the reddish color. The term is also used informally to include direct illumination by the reddish light of the rising or setting sun, with sharply defined shadows. If you look at the backdrop during the song, the mountain is being depicted with Alpenglow!
When Emppu leans on his guitar like that at the beginning, he's got this look on his face like, "Sheesh, stop talking and get on with the music already!"
Love everything. Keep it going. I've actually seen what this song is about. Seen the sunset behind the mountains when I was out west. Then seen the milky way and the aurora the same night. That will make you feel something.

The "We Were Here" is a good hint at what's to come in "The Greatest Show on Earth" both aurally and visually - it just stood out to me after listening to the entire album, so I went back and listened to it again!.... and it mentions "walden" which links it to "My Walden"...

Well, that was certainly an enthusiastic reaction! 😁 Can't say that the song is one of my personal favourites, but I've noticed that some absolutely love the few NW songs I might not be over top over. That being said, I'm actually a bit ambivalent regarding "Alpenglow" - I certainly don't hate it and I like the overall melody, but for some reason it doesn't completely click with me.
I love this concert. Seriously you should get Vehicle of Spirit. Has The Tampere and Wembley concerts and DVD extras which the DVD extras menu features my forever crush Sir Tony Kakko.
