I hate that idea of Kulich who is playing 1c and well for an old regressing player. That is fools gold and the reason why our team will never get out of the mud
I agree with the Gilbert making some really bad mistakes. Last game the Cozens line was really bad for breakout passing to get into Vancouvers zone. They just tried to force a pass through like back to back to back times...and they all had a Van stick in the lane that did not get through. They just need to hold on the puck longer or if they can't get in before an offside then dump it in.
@@mikehartl8665 Yep. Right now they have about 2 players who could probably play that role. One is Benson, who can be nifty and crafty with the puck but who isn't playing that role for the team. I know the WHL isn't the NHL but it was Matt Savoie (a center) who benefitted from the stickhandling and passing ability of Benson (a wing) to scores bushels of goals in juniors...not the other way around. The other player who could stick handle at will and gain entrance to the O-zone on a consistent basis is Dahlen. He could literally take over a game for short periods with his offensive abilities. However, as a D-man he doesn't have the puck handling role of a 1C and plays too unselfishly to take the team and pull them along with him.
If I trade anyone it's an overpaid underachiver like Cozens, Samuelsson, Power, etc. Too soon to tell on young prospects like Benson, Kulich, Ostlund, Rosen, etc.
As much as we like Benson, I don't think he has a ton of trade value. He's skilled, got alot of heart, and is not a defensive liability, but objectively he's a small, bottom 6 forward, with average production. He's got an upside but I don't think he is anyone's dream acquisition. Kulich is a keeper. It would be insane to trade Kulich for Rakell. Kulich has already shown he can play on any line, any position, and hold his own. He's our future 2C.. maybe even as soon as next season. Rakell can score 30, but he's still a 30+ year old, soft winger. Bunting, Petterson, Acciari, or Pierre-Olivier Joseph would my targets.. if I'm the Pens, I'm asking for Kulich or Peterka or Byram or Levi
What are they waiting for with Brett Murray? I don't care if he's "slow"...do the Sabres appear very fast anymore? On most night they don't. Meanwhile, Murray would give you a big winger (6'5", 230 lbs.) on a team with too many runts. And he's only 26 y/o. Murray also can and will hit someone in an opposing uniform and he currently has 17-G's and 12-A's through 38 games. That places him first in goals and second in points on the Amerks. And he's put up similar numbers with Roch the past 3 years. But, on rare occasion they call him up for a couple of games or so, he may get a goal. may get an assist, and they send him back down. They don't give him enough games to see what he might really be able to do at the NHL level. Could he be much worse than the bottom six forwards presently on the roster? Lafferty? Aube-Kubel? Krebs? Quinn? If they don't bring him up for an extended period of play...they'll never know.
Pens trade for Rakell - no thanks , dont need another SOFT FORWARD. Sorry im not moving Kulich or Benson unless its for Crosby . How about Cozens to Calgary for a second round pick and Kevin Bahl who would fit nicely with Owen Power on the second D pair. Sorry cant see Calgary trading Andersson or Weegar .
Time to clear out Cozens for a slightly older, better 3rd pair D-man with a temper and a low pick coming back from whoever wants him. When a team has to play a 3rd pair of Gilbert and {put name here} you're not going to be a playoff team. The same could be said for Bryson. Clifton is a decent 3rd pair D-man but he would be better (as he was with the Bruins) with a more legitimate partner. As for Cozens...he's just a zombie on skates. Doesn't seem motivated, can't handle the puck, loses most big faceoffs he takes (Krebs is now on the 1st PP taking draws) forces play on O-zone entries that end up as bad turnovers, and generally couldn't hit a net as big as a barn with his shot...which he likes to take from a range that a high school goalie could routinely stop. A $7+M bust by all appearances.
Sell, move the team. Get an expansion franchise in a few years. This is exhausting and fruitless. Sabres scouting over past 10 years has ruined this franchise
Bryan rust? They can have benson or kulich for their next 2 years worth of 1st and second round picks. Sabres should not be helping any other team in the league. Only look for deals where you know you are absolutely fleecing the other team.
Kulich vs Benson... I'm taking Kulich. If Pittsburgh calls, I'm hanging up. Godd dddamn you're nuts to think of trading Kulich.
Kulich will be a 30-40 goal scorer. GUARANTEED
Kulich a hard NO. Kulich plays the game the right way he does not hurt you defensively and he hasn't even reached his ceiling not even near.
Well, Kulich (and Gilbert) were on the ice for both Vancouver goals, but I agree with you.
I hate that idea of Kulich who is playing 1c and well for an old regressing player. That is fools gold and the reason why our team will never get out of the mud
Peyton Krebs for Sydney Crosby, straight up.
Pittsburg is debating on that one, they might even throw in a third rounder for Krebs
Rakell for Cozens

I think they need a couple more players who can skate and stick handle into the zone. Not seeing much of that now.

Don't trade Kulich or Benson, you'll never rebuild if they keep trading away their talent.
As much as we like Benson, I don't think he has a ton of trade value. He's skilled, got alot of heart, and is not a defensive liability, but objectively he's a small, bottom 6 forward, with average production. He's got an upside but I don't think he is anyone's dream acquisition.

Ostlund, Rosen etc. should be getting NHL reps RIGHT NOW! Team is not making the playoffs so what are they waiting for???
They'll wait till the upcoming UFA's are traded away by the TDL, Ostlund only has 20 AHL games so doubt he gets any NHL time

trade Benson for a gritty forward.
He is too small for the NHL IMHO.
Power SUCKS
@@brianjones7660 That's why the Penguins have no need for him.
Only player I'd want from Pittsburgh is Crosby. Everyone else is a hard no thank you
Trade between two insignificant teams yah!
Penguins need to rebuild so they need futures. Dubas isn't getting NHL ready prospects.
Ya ok, Like that will happen with Adams...Zach Benson is the same weight and height as Danny Gare, when he played
too small in this era unless you are named Arnold....
@@brianjones7660 One guy got on me for saying that

It's exhausting bc Pegula has never hired an experienced GM. Agreed their scouting has sucked along with the choices of asst coaches
No
