I watched this series all at once this week. Big mistake. My heart couldn't take it. I am in love, awe, ... words cant describe it. Finan and Uthred have my heart. Uthred son of Uthred, father of Uthred, brother of Uthred. I have been so immersed in the series that I can almost feel the mud. Excellent work. Now I'm done and I ask myself what next. I guess Destiny is all.
@@smskinner1001 funny story, I watched that first without knowing about the series. stumbled on the series months later and the movie took up a whole different meaning.
Rereading Bernard Cornwells Last Kingdom, so well written & just as gripping with Utread still a 16 yr old walking around Lundene with Brida , great story even at 5 am
similar sort of idea to a Lord/Knight needing their King's permission to take a wife. Uhtred was Sihtric's Lord/Superior and therefore he must ask his permission to Marry.
Do you remember when utred wanted to marry gisela, and beocca asked "did you ask alfred about this?" That was there culture their lords and kings was like superior father figures in culture.
@@MaverickIceman As already mentioned Sithric belongs to Uthred's household. Taking a wife extends this household and puts more responsibility on Uthred therefore he needs his permission. If I remember correctly this is made explicit in the books.
It was British, made by the BBC for series 1 and 2. It was then bought by Netflix and they did season 3-5 and also The Last Kingdom: Seven Kings Must Die. It was mainly a British, Irish and Scandinavian cast and I think they filmed all of it in Hungary.
Yeah but...they went full woke during covid era. They rushed that last season it was terrible. They ruined their own masterpiece by selling out to the company. Its a shame.

You watched the film to end the series seven kings must die?

Alexander Dreymon is by far the best actor for me at this point in time.
I believe Henry Cavil will also act as a great viking warrior
The man is simply the best leader, friend and lover in the series. A true king which he should have been.

Why did Sihtric need Uhtred's permission to get married? I always wondered.

@@doingsomething5084 but Alfred was Saxon. Don't uhtred and sithric follow Dane law?

@@MaverickIceman he was sworn to Alfred
Because Uhtred is the lord of Sihtric. Those days the lord gave permission to get married as the lord was the one who paid his servant warriors.
I'd like to know the midiclorian level of this Uhtred son of Uhtred
How can I watch the whole episodes apart from on NETFLIX?
in my opinion i think this season utred was the coolest
What can I say awesome best series
