We do the same. It's just that we're much more numerous and so we also have many more shitheads. If you look at tribes, you'll see them all pretty much acting like those elephants did. Most people do that even outside of tribes.

This is SO important for the world to see this animal behaviour. How attached and protective they are towards each other
Hats off to the vet and helpers, but it broke my heart to see how stressed the animals were, I hope the people who wounded the elephant will see how much misery (and also unnecessary cost and effort) they caused. Sending a vet to these occassions is mere fire-fighting. I hope they will address the root cause and improve the living conditions for the people who are getting in conflict with the animals, otherwise this will never stop. Amazing though, how the elephants, even running in fear for their life all stopped and turned back without hesitation when their family member collapsed. You wouldn't see that from many other animals (or some humans, for that matter).

I find it hilariously ironic that westerners are telling Africans to yield space to the wildlife while they decimated entire continents and displaced millions in genocidal tendencies for centuries…it is survival for these poor farmers. Either give them your land, or provide other concrete ideas or shut up
yup & most humans cause the exact same misery & death for billions of animals we use for food, milk, dairy & other things we don't need. Hypocrisy rules. They are all better than us & equally sentient & we use them as mere things/resources.

2:07 holy smokes I am BLOWN AWAY by how the entire herd circled back to the injured one and got into formation to protect it. Then that one elephant that didn’t want to leave her behind was such a heartbreaker.
The world is an awful place if we let such amazing animals go extinct.

I've seen videos before of elephants mourning over a dead member of their herd, it's heart-wrenching to see. That one elephant is trying so hard to get the tranquillized elephant to its feet and back to safety with the little herd. It's amazing to see such a vast area there for miles around. It is an incredible boon to them that they can get the medical help they need. Good work and thanks for your efforts for these precious elephants who meet such terrible fates by poachers for the lucrative black-market. I wish we could get rid of ALL black markets that are diminishing the numbers of these wonderful wild animals. Thank you to the WONDERFUL CONSERVATIONISTS for helping these beautiful animals.

Seeing and hearing the calf in so much pain was tough. So glad the little guy found his mom and will be ok. We need to be more mindful of our planet's biodiversity. Human beings aren't the only living creatures worthy of being on this earth.
