Mike Im 70 still laying block and building.Keep moving Mike show these young so called trades people how tough we are. WE ARE THE BABY BOOM GENERATION. WE ARE FROM THE GREATEST GENERATION.PERIOD. I LOVE AND MISS THE GREATEST GENERATION. THEY TAUGHT ME SO MUCH. GOD BLESS THEM ALL.
Brother.... Another fine project taught by the "Master Mason". Always good to see you keeping it simple for the average person. GOD Bless Brother... Ernie
Hey Mike, Incredible job! You make it look like it's always been there! Like I've said before, you are a true master artist! I pray you are safe with hurricane Helene coming! Hope you are doing well and enjoying Florida! Blessings to you, Kevin Barron
Some of the still shoots, when it was laid out dry on the tarp, reminded me of back when I laid out my aquarium decorations dry. Looked real alike 😊 You know me, all I'm gonna do is compliment your job 👏🏻 Have a great weekend Sir. //Richard, Norway.
The Axe is back! Yes...great job as always, Mike. Using the materials found in the environment, plus the price is right for that coral. I always learn new things from you and am glad to see you're staying creative.
Mike you are absolutely amazing?!!!! I love your approach to problem-solving. Watching you has made my carpentry projects so much easier. I keep hearing you saying no big deal just make it work, and that works for me!!!! Thanks again, Dave from New York.
Great Idea Mike! Thank you. Here they are putting ugly new fiv3-g water meters on the FRONT of homes.. Maybe this can be a solution for some clients. I might have considered adding a couple weep holes to the base for plant water run-off?
Really appreciate the videos, Mike. Bob Ross of masonry indeed. Except instead of teaching people how to paint moderately decent personal art, you're empowering people to save thousands or start in a necessary and dying trade.
Great video as always Mike. I messaged you once before I lived in central Florida (Kissimmee) and wanted to know if I can use the same technique for painting with Portland here as you do in Pennsylvania? If possible could you do a resurfacing video for Floridians. Many of us have patios, sidewalks and driveways that need resurfacing. Love your old school simple but effective approach. Thank you.
Excellent job as always. Question for you Mike, why didn’t you wet the pieces of coral as you put them into the concrete? Someone always said to do that 😉😆. I’ve put your teachings to use for my customers and it always works out just fine.
Usually you say to wet the stones if you want the cement to stick. Is this different because it’s coral? Coral is mostly calcium, right? It looked great though! Plus you can probably take it apart pretty easy if they needed to do sewer work
Nice project Mike! I like how you used the stone available in Florida for the sides and how you brought blue stone with you from Pennsylvania for the top! I’m not familiar with type M mortar. Is that similar in strength to type N? You’re leaning what works in Florida! Like you always say what works in Florida doesn’t work in Pennsylvania etc. watching from northwestern Pennsylvania!
Nice work...Not like they did with the old world advanced technology pre 1800 buildings that we inherited and NEVER built with horse and buggy hand tools, as they are works of art.... but a darn nice planter! No big deal!!
Hello Mike. I have a brick step leading into my home. I bought a cast iron handrail but am worried if I drill into bricks they might break apart. Should I be concerned? Thanks! Enjoying your videos
Hi freedom, hard to say, depends on how they laid them and how far from the edge, what type of rail etc, sometimes it's a plate that goes on top with small drill holes, etc Mike
How to make something from next to nothing by Mike Haduck. Or, it only costs a couple dollars to look first class. Stay safe down there with that storm rolling in Mike.
Thanks for continuing to add videos during your Florida retirement.

I’m a generation X and I miss the greatest generation too. They were much better craftsman because of the way they worked with less cheats and gadgets

Hi Clint, not in veneer like that, it makes a mess, thanks Mike
I’ve been to the coral castle. Maybe you could do a stone mason’s commentary on it sometime.
Hi , I did one years ago and did another but haven't edited it yet, thanks Mike
Usually you say to wet the stones if you want the cement to stick. Is this different because it’s coral? Coral is mostly calcium, right? It looked great though! Plus you can probably take it apart pretty easy if they needed to do sewer work
Hi Joe, I don't wet it for veneer, it would make a mess, but it's not going anywhere, thanks Mike
thank you
Thanks michael, Mike

Could Honest Jardy's plumbing have relocated the pipe or are you outside of their service call area?
Hi Leo, who knows as long as it works, Mike
Mike, if you had to build a tall wall from stone how high would you build before letting the cement set?
Hi madam, mostly depends on temperature but I usually did about 3 to 4 feet high, depending on what I was doing and what type of stone, thanks Mike
Hi Mike, I hear there is a hurricane coming your way, I pray you will be ok.
Hi Julian, it's gone already, no worries here, God was good to us, Mike
Type M....for Mike! Keep on "rocking".
Thanks rom, Mike

Thanks Eman, Mike
Hopefully that hurricane doesn’t impact your area Mike!
Hi Joe, it missed us, thanks Mike
👍
Thanks John, Mike
I notice you're not wetting the stones for the cement to adhere better to. Why not?
Hi tex, with stone veneer or brick it makes a mess, the weight itself is sufficient, usually for stucco, patches etc, you wet it first thanks Mike
You got those plastic pots at Lowes, didn't you?
Hi Gill, the girlfriend probably did, thanks Mike
Makes me nervous with the ax. Omg
