The issue with researching forts in the mod vs in vanilla is that in the mod it takes place in world war 1 where trench warfare first saw widespread use, whereas vanilla takes place long after that and everyone knows about trench warfare.

Historically libya didn't get its modern borders until 1935. Basically it was agreed that after ww1, italy wouldn't get any german colonies but they'd get some land from british and french colonies and this was finished in 1935.

Fascism as an ideology didn't really exist until around the last 1910s, you could pin it down to the founding of the Fasci Italiani di Combattimento (Italian Fasces of Combat) in Milan, 1919. Given this mod is about WW1, and fascism wasn't an ideology (there were no manifestos, no people who would label themselves fascist), it would make most sense to label it "Proto-Fascist", the ideologies/beliefs that preceded fascism, for that you could check out, for example, people like Gabriele D'Annunzio, Duce of Fiume, as for organisations you could check out the German National Association of Commercial Employees, a trade union with an anti-liberal, nationalistic set of beliefs. I think the Austria Hungary joining the Entente thing is a bit of a bug. Normally on historical they would be in the Central Powers and that agreement would eventually lead to you joining the Central Powers but since it wasn't on historical they still did the agreement thing but then joined the Entente.

Howitzer's were lighter longer ranged artillery perfect for ww1 bc of how far the two trench lines were from each other + because they used hills a lot.
The reason you can't push is your units don't have enough soft attack to do damage they lowered soft attack by alot in that mod to make it more like infantry wave attacking fortified positions and machine guns. if you use howitzers you can get enough soft attack to push fairly well its how I managed to cap France mid 1916 they're stupid expensive and you'll have to cycle attack with them and reg inf to eventually get a breakthrough. sometime 1918-1920 artillery scales past howitzers tho
Another thing armored cars are straight dogwater compared to howitzer inf or tanks they don't have the soft attack that howitzers have. also stay at or above 30 org for assault units, best currently.
You can focus light tanks as the AI isn't competent enough to counter human made light tanks. Keep reliability above 80 as thats currently best. also if you research maintenance company 2 you get a module for your tanks called easy maintenance it lowers the cost of each tank by 5% and gives +10% reliability boost. most importantly tho play how you want these are just good template ideas to help with damage dealers. Make an armored car build they're fast AF so when you do get a breakthrough you can get some good encirclements, early war since tanks aren't available until 1917-1918.
