I thought you had decided not to do this after all since it has been ages since you did the first one. Glad to see you picking it back up again. There are times when this show is better than Buffy. And it has my third favorite ship of all time, which is not Scott and Allison or Scott and anyone. I like my ships to have to put serious time in to earn it, to build a friendship first, not just fall into something from the beginning. That's why I prefer Spike and Buffy over Buffy and Angel even though I liked Buffy and Angel. But I digress. Lydia is not very nice here. All she appears to really cares about is her status as queen bee at school and if Jackson isn't on top of his sport, she won't be on top for dating him. Although she was nice enough to take Allison under her wing, if Allison hadn't been pretty or fashionable, you know she wouldn't have. Jackson is mean because he wants to be on top as well, but I don't think it is because he wants to be popular so much as he wants to be the best, top dog in the pack so to speak. It makes me wonder if he earned his position in lacrosse or if he always played dirty by using his friends to get his way if anyone even started to be a better player. Scott is letting his hormones get the better of him and being reckless in his risk taking. Part of this is being a teenage boy and part of it is the wolf. He wants to impress Allison. I don't think the drive to be popular would be so great if Allison hadn't come to the school and become insta popular. He would have been more reasonable about playing or at least playing with so much aggression. He doesn't listen to Stiles or Derek when he really should. Stiles is now the voice of reason, which considering Stiles is the one who originally convince Scott to go out looking for a dead body the night Scott was attacked. So he and Scott have reversed roles from the first episode. One thing that is great about this show is that you can already see what a large parental presence there is going to be, not just with one parent, but with three at present. These kids don't exist in a vacuum. They have parents that interact with them, worry about them, take care of them, and that love them. It is refreshing. I hope we will see the next episode sooner than we saw this one.
