I like how helluva boss season 1 has around 100 minutes total time and has 347 swear words and breaking bad with over 3000 minutes total has only 84 (including jesse). Meaning Helluva boss swears over 135 times more frequently than breaking bad.

The taboo nature of the show doesn’t work due because of the “jokes” feeling like they’re being used for the sake of it, instead of having anything meaning to them. Did you actually watch Hazbin Hotel? I doubt it, because if you did you wouldn't put it in the same category as Helluva Boss. They handle this sort of thing very differently and in fact are pretty much different genres. I agree the HB kinda overuses sex jokes. Because at the beggining it was pretty good. Now Moxy and Millie's relationship has gone backwards, Blitz and Stolas have been stuck in the same situation since the first season, Loona at least has evolved and Fizz/Ozzie charcters have been developed more in two episodes than the main cast in 2 seasons (this relationship is the only good thing right now). The interesting plot of imps killing humans for money has been conoletely replaced by a romantic story that goes nowhere. The humor has gone from childish but with good timing (like all the sequence of Blitz destroying his phone because of stolas dirty talking) to repeating "FUCKING RETARDED ASSHOLE I WANT TO FUCK YOUR FUCKING ASS AND HAVE SEX WITH YOU IN A DIRTY CAR" every 10 seconds. And the musical parts has gone from unnecessary but short and entertaining (like the teacher song or loo loo land) to long, dull songs that dont say anything new and slow or even stops the plot (like Fizz distracting the criminalsafter solving a main conflict of the serie in 2 minutes). And after reading all this i realize that the problem can be summarized in "the show has turned into a cheap fanfic of itself".

One thing I’ve noticed is the writers almost seem scared of having actual antagonists. Striker and the shark guy are taken care of easily, DORK and the cupids still havent shown up again. The literal embodiments of the sins of lust and gluttony are actually an unconditionally loving partner and an empathetic party girl. Mammon spends his episode spouting so much stuff to make him obviously evil and in the end isnt a real threat beyond insulting fizz. I liked season 1 but I can’t even sit through most of season 2’s episodes.
Interesting take and I agree. And the moment they had a villain that had all the potential to be evil, yet also have complex emotions such as Stolas's wife, since she was a threat to him, they just made her evil "just because" and this is a bummer considering she is a recurring antagonist along with her brother. But yeah, all potential antagonists are all written poorly.

The problem of helluva and Hazbin is that the jokes are totally random and out of context, it feels like they put many swearings just to make these shows more adult like. Instead South Park is very mature and smart when it comes to jokes and satire, which is the main focus of the serie: in South Park only the kids and some adults (immature ones like Randy and Garrison for example) swear, and it makes sense. The kids swear because they want to feel more adult and because they are immature of course: kids in South Park are an exaggeration of real kids in our days. Also if you watch latest episodes of South Park You'll see that the thing that makes the show funny is not swears but it is the satire they do about literally everything and also the entertaining stories and characters. South Park, in my opinion, is the PERFECT adult show. Many adult show (such as Griffin and the Simpsons) are not funny anymore and they are getting old, instead South Park is one of the few shows that stayed fresh over the years because the producers actually love their job and they always want to do their best when it comes to it. You can visibly see that the episodes of South Park get better and better as seasons pass. I watched both Helluva and Hazbin and they are nothing compared to South Park in my opinion. Don't get me wrong I admire Vivziepop, the creator of both shows, for her passion and her determination about both shows, but in my opinion the writing is terrible, the jokes are not funny and the characters are not deep: they are flat and boring actually. Of course, I repeat, this is only my opinion, you can certainly disagree with me.
I admire Helluva boss for *looking* better than basically all adult cartoons on both network TV and streaming. I agree the HB kinda overuses sex jokes. HH doesn't, and is better than almost all other "adult cartoons" I've ever seen. The "swear = edgy" crowd is just as cringe as the "swear = funny" one.

-Initial goofy haha episode that hints at larger ongoing plot
-completely forget the tone set by the previous episode and focus on character drama
Forget about said character drama to focus an a conpletely unrelated dynamic
-Finale resulting in an cringey song number(s) about the characters romance. (This will be completely forgotten and brushed aside the next season)
Sprinkle in some fuck, shits, cu*ts, bitches and sex jokes and there you have it

Honestly, this is so true. I used to like Helluva Boss a bunch, but now I don’t as much.
Because at the beggining it was pretty good. Now Moxy and Millie's relationship has gone backwards, Blitz and Stolas have been stuck in the same situation since the first season, Loona at least has evolved and Fizz/Ozzie charcters have been developed more in two episodes than the main cast in 2 seasons (this relationship is the only good thing right now).
The interesting plot of imps killing humans for money has been conoletely replaced by a romantic story that goes nowhere.
The humor has gone from childish but with good timing (like all the sequence of Blitz destroying his phone because of stolas dirty talking) to repeating "FUCKING RETARDED ASSHOLE I WANT TO FUCK YOUR FUCKING ASS AND HAVE SEX WITH YOU IN A DIRTY CAR" every 10 seconds.
And the musical parts has gone from unnecessary but short and entertaining (like the teacher song or loo loo land) to long, dull songs that dont say anything new and slow or even stops the plot (like Fizz distracting the criminalsafter solving a main conflict of the serie in 2 minutes).
And after reading all this i realize that the problem can be summarized in "the show has turned into a cheap fanfic of itself".

One thing I’ve noticed is the writers almost seem scared of having actual antagonists. Striker and the shark guy are taken care of easily, DORK and the cupids still havent shown up again. The literal embodiments of the sins of lust and gluttony are actually an unconditionally loving partner and an empathetic party girl. Mammon spends his episode spouting so much stuff to make him obviously evil and in the end isnt a real threat beyond insulting fizz. I liked season 1 but I can’t even sit through most of season 2’s episodes.

The problem of helluva and Hazbin is that the jokes are totally random and out of context, it feels like they put many swearings just to make these shows more adult like. Instead South Park is very mature and smart when it comes to jokes and satire, which is the main focus of the serie: in South Park only the kids and some adults (immature ones like Randy and Garrison for example) swear, and it makes sense. The kids swear because they want to feel more adult and because they are immature of course: kids in South Park are an exaggeration of real kids in our days. Also if you watch latest episodes of South Park You'll see that the thing that makes the show funny is not swears but it is the satire they do about literally everything and also the entertaining stories and characters. South Park, in my opinion, is the PERFECT adult show. Many adult show (such as Griffin and the Simpsons) are not funny anymore and they are getting old, instead South Park is one of the few shows that stayed fresh over the years because the producers actually love their job and they always want to do their best when it comes to it. You can visibly see that the episodes of South Park get better and better as seasons pass. I watched both Helluva and Hazbin and they are nothing compared to South Park in my opinion. Don't get me wrong I admire Vivziepop, the creator of both shows, for her passion and her determination about both shows, but in my opinion the writing is terrible, the jokes are not funny and the characters are not deep: they are flat and boring actually. Of course, I repeat, this is only my opinion, you can certainly disagree with me.
I admire Helluva boss for *looking* better than basically all adult cartoons on both network TV and streaming. But yeah, its writing falls *far* short of other recent adult animated pilots/series on TH-cam, and even shows made for children’s networks like Regular Show have tons of mature humor that’s actually funny in spite of having to abide by a TV-PG rating (and yet its creator still kept the humor fairly fresh in his adult cartoon Close Enough despite HBO Max allowing shows to have Helluva Boss’ brand of low-brow swear-per-second ‘humor’)
