Martin if people stop and really pay attention to the filming of Lel’s patient and gorgeous work as she’s creating, they would realize how hard you work filming everything. Getting the right angles, getting close at just the right angle without getting in her way and just the right distance away from the work when you’re doing the further away shots. I hope I’m making sense but I get tired. Just thinking about you being on your feet, holding the camera filming. Between the two of you I’m exhausted by the time you’re done lol 😜🤣. But seriously, thank you both for all that you do, including behind the scenes. There’s so much more put in to these videos than we realize I’m sure.
Lel & Martin I was not the least bit bored watching you working on the decoupage image at all!!! I learned so incredibly much on how to get rid of the sharp lines when you put two pieces together, and how to repair damage, even on the face😃. I feel so much more confident now to try these things myself. Instead of thinking, I’ve ruined it and crying my eyes out. I now know I just have to be patient, slow and not give up. I feel more confident about getting the colors right and that there’s nothing you can’t fix. I’m blown away with the incredible job you did. And it was fascinating and you didn’t just skim over it like many people in the face I think is the hardest thing to get right when repairing. Specially details around the eyes. Thank you so extremely much again
It's always slightly tricker to blend a face the trick is to paint and soften with your fingers so it's not heavy around areas especially the eyes. Thanks for your continued support Mikki x x
I am totally in awe and in love with what you did on the sides of the drawers 😮. Not only is it absolutely beautiful, but it gave it this much older vintage look in a very rich, expensive foreign detail. Like it came from another time and place. I never would’ve thought of using the colors and products that you did on the sides of the drawers and I can’t get over what this little subtle detail changed and improved the piece so much. To me it made it look so much more antique and expensive.
I love it! 🥰 The gold leaf on the moulds REALLY takes it over the top! It's eerily similar (a teeny bit) to a piece I did a few years ago (called Two Queens). I absolutely love this look and the style of this table. Some would say 'kidney-shaped' and so daintily pretty. Thanks you guys! Always so cute to watch and I enjoy how you work together, Lel & Marty. xo
That's me all the way, color, style ahhh...when I've said before how you're the best at furniture art..work speaks for itself..usually artist use different brush for each color when blending..you did all with one ..master at work, one of my favorite from you so far..looooove it❤❤❤
Oh lel, now I have made you self conscious about, ",leave it alone", I luv that phrase! You need to make a t-shirt that says that, and sell it as merch. Today your detail about getting the paper to dissappear into your piece was extremely helpful since I don't do very well at that yet. Beautiful piece once again!
You definitely have not made me feel self conscious.. Marty and I loved your video so much that we show everyone. We say ( leave it alone) it to each other... We love you, you have made us smile so much..... Never change Dar. And your work is fabulous ❤️
Wow it turned out gorgeous. The gold leaf looked amazing but quite tricky to do. Thanks for the tip about making any colour wax by adding paint. The wax stencils were great. Also the little black knobs went so well with the overall look.
Wow! What a transformation! ❤it! I love how moulds can really create high end looks on furniture pieces. I have to admit that sometimes I get a bit lazy and don’t put on as many as I would like 😄 But even a few placed well really make a difference. And gold is just my weakness! I love gold! Awesome job Lel🥰
I feel you cassandra.... About being bothered I was supposed to be taking the moulds all the way around the sides but couldn't muster the will..... Ha ha ha
Thanks Linda yes it was a bit of a labour of love but I got there..... It sold in 4 hours of me uploading the video. I always pop k. To see if you have anything good x
So interesting to see your take on the Baroque style... Undoubtedly still a unique Made by Marley piece. Converting pounds to dollars, it certainly is well worth the $639. price tag in US currency! Lots & Lots of detailed work and time went into this very simple piece of furniture. Have to say you work like lightning, and talk as fast as you maneuver your paintbrush. I was very impressed by your ability to correct the seam in your decoupage paper and eliminate the edge marks. Adding that waxed stenciled pattern added so much to the piece. Your work always excites me and puts my own efforts to shame. Hope this piece sells quick. With love always, Sydni
Awww yes my mouth works as hard as my brushes..... Within 4 hours of the video being up someone bought it so I was incredibly happy. Can you believe I made such a mess of her face and eye with the sandpaper.... Then I took ages sorting it out. I'm not careful sometimes ha ha
What a transformation! And the wax stencil on the top was just the icing on the cake, including the color. So happy you touched on a very real problem we all encounter: horrible drawer sides. You and Martyn are simply the best. I appreciate you. Thank you for the great Sunday date. You never disappoint. ❤
Thank you for this video. I love that you made it extra long, and took us through the steps and explaining things to us that people who do this all the time might forget to mention, but you are an amazing teacher Lel and I love the extra length on the videos anyway because I get to watch it that much longer. Again my favorite way to start my Sunday morning. I look forward to it all week❣️❣️🥰🥰😘😘
Beautiful Lel, just absolutely beautiful!! You are so inspiring. Thank you for sharing your whole process. It turned out wonderful as always. I am always on the hunt for a piece to practice on after I watch! With love, Sammie 🪶 PS, great music, Martin
😱WOW Another incredible masterpiece Lel and Martin❣️❣️❣️ 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 Oh, I forgot to mention I love your color choices. Those alone I would’ve fallen in love with this piece. Who ever painted and change the hardware on this piece before, left it looking cheap. That hardware was OK appalling😬.
This is a spectacular piece and so much fun to watch. Turning rags into riches is possible with a vision such as yours. Your work is awesome and a privilge to see.
Positively precious.....The wax stamping on top just added the perfect finishing touch! You need to show me how to make those moulds......How, what, where do I acquire what I need to make them? I love your accent..."Grrray Grrrreen". Adorable.
This is amazing. Shape, colours, embellishments. And the much maligned Marie. Personally, I am very partial to your longer complex material and I really am so grateful for your generosity in giving us these trade secrets. I'm calling this one the Mission Impossible of furniture painting movies. I really cannot believe what you are able to achieve, particularly in blending such an fancy-ass oldie in such a way that it just looks seamless. 10/10
Oh Marley, I would watch you blend paint in your pajamas or a flour sack ! This is just such a fun piece - it was mesmerizing watching you blend Marie’s flesh tones🫣 Love your artistry❣️ 🙏
Hi ya Lel and Dear Martyn . Boy Oh Boy ! What a Transformation!😜❤❤ Everything you did to this piece. You Really nailed the Rococo look 👏👏just Absolutely beautifully gorgeous! gorgeous! Your talent is Exceptional.🥰 Till nxt time guys ❤ ya xx
Hey I just scrolled through the comments for the first time ever and I lost count of how many WOWS and ❤️. But I have to say Marty is just as popular 🤣🤣🤣. You 2 are gold 🧡🧡🧡
Linda I should make marty the poster boy for Made By Marley. Photograph him in the nude with a tub of paint in front of his bits ha ha.... He gets fan mail yes I did say fan mail.
Really...I can't believe you said that...did you pass the idea past Marty...I will be laughing about that all night. But then again I reckon sales would go through the roof 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Ah Jay a long one! My Sunday afternoon treat. In bed, (it's winter here) cuppa Lel Marty and a perfect music choice Martyn. 😉 what could be better? Hubby blew up the freezer and dishwasher yesterday 😢😢so I really don't want to think about much now or I'll have a sob. This is a much better alternative!😊 big hugs. Largie.
With the moulds, I was having trouble too so I ended up putting them in the freezer in a zip lock bag for 15 minutes to half an hour and they popped out easily. I imagine the air in Australia is a lot dryer so that is possibly the problem. When I pull them out I put them back in the zip lock bag until I’m ready to use them and this keeps them nice and pliable. Cheers Kathryn 😊
Yep, ask me how I know... painted ALL around the drawers...bummer! RESIN. Just love this Lel... I always love a good Firle in there. Hey, your hair is looking especially nice, Lel. Love you guys!
Yes it's me again, lol. You are probably like, oh my lord this lady comments toooo much. But I looove the way you work, and explain what you are doing. The way you are blending , I think I MIGHT BE ABLE TO DO THIS. Yes I'm bing watching your older videos. Every chance I get. I can't stop. I hope you don't get annoyed with me. But I promise I will try not to comment on all of them. Actually the last one I did hold myself back. LOL. You are amazing, you have been blessed with an incredible talent.😊
Toni I would never think this. You are taking your time to let me know what you think. It's the opposite I appreciate you. I'm glad your enjoying my videos but I'm also glad you feel your getting the confidence to do this x x
Genius ❤ you are such a visionary with every piece of your work. Martin dear, how about some Donald, Where's Your Troosers? by Andy Stewart for some real Scottish music 😁😁 sending you hugs 🫂 from London ❤️
Wow, this is way over the top for my tastes BUT I learned a lot of things in the process of getting to the finished piece. I love IOD everything and Annie Sloan but the tips about the drawer sides and the colored wax stencils....that's a great take-away. thank you!
I got up extra early to watch before work but alas I had to go before the end...it's a long un. Masterclass...if I had done that to her face, first I would have cried and then I would have yelled and then I would have sanded it off. When I saw the beginning I thought what a gorgeous piece of furniture and then the original OMG chalk and cheese 🧡🧡🧡
Ha ha when marty saw what I had done to her face he was slightly freaked out.... I laughed and said "oh I will just paint it back in" I think I stress him out ha ha ha I can't believe I sanded half her face of anyway.... My sandpaper was a bit big.
Yes, I was trying to see that too😂! Lel the watercolor artist show their pallets on the side so you can see them mix. On this one I was wishing I could stretch over froogh the screen to peak at the mixing. When you fixed the face that's NOT BORING AT ALL! That's where we learn, loved it. 😘
Hi, is the paper you used on this project one of yours? Love the work you do, I love using people on my projects. Thanks 😊 ps. Forgive me if you mentioned about the paper, I missed it.
It's not one I actually sell but I made it into a paper for myself. If you want happy to do a custom. For you although like mine it will be in 2 half sheets as our paper only comes in A3. Or maybe you want her in A 3? If you want just email sales@madebymarley.co.uk and just remind me in your email and I will see what I can do. Lel x
If your talent was in a magic brush I would need to get it !!! ( Of course man like Martin to help me remember what I'm trying to think of something and clean the moulds !)
All our decoupage paper is on our website Natasha and we can put you in touch with a stockist near you. However if you want this one of Marie please email us at sales@madebymarley.co.uk as this is a custom. Look forward to hearing from you x
From what I understand when using clay for molds, if you paint then when their still wet, they won't Crack when there drying. I personally like the resin casting better, apply right after they cure when there still plyable. There more sturdier.
It's all personal choice.... Having been a Potter/ceramic artist for 17 years I would not add extra moisture to wet molds.. But hey everyone is entitled to do what they feel is best 😁 Resin isn't great for the environment or your body so again it's personal choice. Enjoy And thanks for you comment ❤️
Flipping awesome as usual. I see some of the paints are in bottles. Do you put them in the bottles or are they bought that way? If so please put up a link for me. Every time I go online they redirect to another brand and it p....s me off. A link would be helpful. ❤❤❤
Hi Barbara, it's Martyn. I buy these for Lel from a UK catering company. They are super cheap and I get like 20 at a time. The other comment is right, that's what they are catering sauce bottles fifo or what ever they are called. Don't be fooled by branded ones with claims of bla bla made for paint. It's all guff, just find a national catering supply company and you will find them. Should be no more than around £2 each. Hope that helps
When are you having your knee replacement? Ten years ago I had my first knee done and 5 years ago I had my other knee done. The best things I have ever done for myself. I truly felt like I had a brand new life. I have no pain and I feel great !
Stealing a line from Scarlett O'Hara, "I'm pea green with envy." I just happened to be practicing with my Olive Crest Mould when I clicked on your video. Not only did it take me a year and half, but I had to split that wreath pattern into two parts because I knew I'd never get it out in one piece, so when I saw you do the whole thing I said OH MY GOD, HOW DID SHE DO THAT????out loud. I also have a problem getting the moulds to release. I find the silicone..what do you call them? Moulds again?.. incredibly difficult to manipulate because they're so heavy. Sometimes I have to put all of my weight into them and even then the moulds won't come out. I do use corn flour, though perhaps not enough. I did see a little bit of it on a few parts, but, not enough to damage the details. I guess I just have to practice, practice, practice. So, my final comment is WOW, WOW, WOW!!! What an insanely gorgeous piece of furniture you created. The gold leaf is beautiful, and I love how you darkened it to make the piece look as if it had been lingering in a storage room in Versailles after the mob cut Marie Antoinette's head off. Horrible and unnecessary as she was victimized as were the poor people in France, though in a very different way. She was never allowed to see the poverty when she went out in a carriage because everything she saw was fake. I'm so glad you said that she never said, Let them eat cake. I see people online attributing that quote to her and it makes me crazy. I think she was referring to some kind of bread. She is, IMO a tragic figure in history. I love the Olive Crest mould. I think I bought another, Acanthus, that's too similar, so maybe I'll sell it. As always, such a pleasure to tune into the Lel and Marty show every Sunday. Laughter and beauty. Who could ask for more? xoxoxo PS I love Be A Queen. Hahahah! Good for you,
Hmmm yes molds it can be tricky.... To much cornflour or not enough can be an issue. I think it's all about taking time. Go slowly and try to let gravity pull it out. If you bed the mold it can be harder. It's a dark art sometimes. However I have faith in you. Before you know it you will have it all sorted and be a mold making demon ha ha ha
I'm watching this again and have resolved my mold problem. Someone--I think the Sisters--suggested puting the filled moulds into the freezer for a "few minutes. I left one mold for 5 minutes. It didn't help, so I took everything out and started from scratch. Then I walked away and did something else. I returned about 20 minutes later. Can't tell how easy it was. They practically fell out, every detail sharp. If you get a comment from someone having trouble with getting the clay out of the moulds tell them to try this. BTW, there were no cracks. The were perfect. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Oh I'm not sure, glass knobs can quite often cheapen furniture. (Unless they are hugely expensive vintage hand blown glass) I do use them sometimes. In the uk sometimes they can be viewed as slightly tacky.... But when it's your own furniture and your own opinions, yes go you x
Yes your right I've never had a bad experience with a pen product. I think it's a faulty one as it was very runny..... I don't want you to think I don't like there products. I do it's a one of issue I think x x
Martin if people stop and really pay attention to the filming of Lel’s patient and gorgeous work as she’s creating, they would realize how hard you work filming everything. Getting the right angles, getting close at just the right angle without getting in her way and just the right distance away from the work when you’re doing the further away shots. But seriously, thank you both for all that you do, including behind the scenes. There’s so much more put in to these videos than we realize I’m sure.
Doesn't he do us proud, and this was nothing like his job. He was a tech guy. Here he is now filming. Let's here it for marty x

❤❤❤Love Love Love❤❤❤ You have truly become my favorite furniture artist! Please don't ever change!!!
I don't think I will ha ha ha x
Wow!!! How i looove watching you working with moulds!!! It’s never boring! Can’t wait to play with gold leaf now too!
Oh there is truly nothing more satisfying than gold leafing moulds. So go get started x
I am totally in awe and in love with what you did on the sides of the drawers 😮. Yes drawer sides can be ugly if someone's previously painted them, it takes a little longer to put them right but I think it's worth it. X
I love it! 🥰 The gold leaf on the moulds REALLY takes it over the top! It's eerily similar (a teeny bit) to a piece I did a few years ago (called Two Queens). So much information, nice. Your stuff sells because it's amazing, creative and not boring! Ever! You make me smarter 😂
That's so kind your always lovely x
Gold leafing looks tricky but its actually so very easy. I promise it makes you look good.... Give it a go x
Wow! What a transformation! ❤it! I love how moulds can really create high end looks on furniture pieces. I have to admit that sometimes I get a bit lazy and don’t put on as many as I would like 😄 But even a few placed well really make a difference.

I feel you cassandra.... About being bothered I was supposed to be taking the moulds all the way around the sides but couldn't muster the will..... Ha ha ha
@@MadebyMarley hahaha!
Ooooo la la Those greens, molds, waxes, gilding ! 😍
I love green at the moment, I also love it with gold x
I am amazed at the difference! I didn't think anyone was ever going to buy it, but you did, and have turned it into a stunning work of art!
Thanks Linda yes it was a bit of a labour of love but I got there..... It sold in 4 hours of me uploading the video. I always pop k. To see if you have anything good x
Never bored watching you. Lel so inspirational 🎉😂😂😂
Thanks Faye x

Wow! “Spray the brush, not the piece.” I’ve never heard that piece of advice. Thank you!
Yes it saves leaving tiny water spots in your finish xv
Gorgeous work, Lel - you're so clever! 💚
And loving the redder-toned hair lately... 🤗
Thanks so much, I'm glad you enjoyed this video and my hair x x

So beautiful! You are a master of the furniture art! ❤
Thanks so much for letting me know x
You did a good job covering that seam on Marie's face. It will make a beautiful dressing table. I like the new color of your hair.
Thanks Cindy I'm glad you like my hair. Can you believe I was so clumsy to sand part of her face of. Anyway fixed it phew.....

Wow, this is way over the top for my tastes BUT I learned a lot of things in the process of getting to the finished piece. I love IOD everything and Annie Sloan but the tips about the drawer sides and the colored wax stencils....that's a great take-away. thank you!
Sorry it can't be to everyone's taste, my followers tend to be a bit like me ha ha
Aw well at least you learned something.
@@MadebyMarley oh absolutely. Not complaining rather explaining! I love learning new things💕
Ha ha Aw well that's good I thought maybe you just thought it was awful and were being kind x ❤️❤️❤️
@@MadebyMarley No! I'm sorry I wasn't more clear.🙃😋
Lel I think you better show Martyn how to clean those pesky moulds, he's falling behind, lol!!!
He's really been slacking ha ha ha
@@MadebyMarley 😂
I got up extra early to watch before work but alas I had to go before the end...it's a long un. Masterclass...if I had done that to her face, first I would have cried and then I would have yelled and then I would have sanded it off. When I saw the beginning I thought what a gorgeous piece of furniture and then the original OMG chalk and cheese 🧡🧡🧡
Ha ha when marty saw what I had done to her face he was slightly freaked out.... I laughed and said "oh I will just paint it back in" I think I stress him out ha ha ha
I can't believe I sanded half her face of anyway.... My sandpaper was a bit big.
I freaked out!!! I will be more calm next time ha ha ha not
Perfection 💚💚💚
Thanks so much for watching x
When you’re blending this, are you using the same brush, or are you using multiple brushes?
Yes, I was trying to see that too😂!
Lel the watercolor artist show their pallets on the side so you can see them mix. On this one I was wishing I could stretch over froogh the screen to peak at the mixing. When you fixed the face that's NOT BORING AT ALL! That's where we learn, loved it. 😘
I'm using the same brush although you can blend with a neutral brush often I don't.
Hope this is helpful x
❤❤ Beautiful!!! ❤❤
Thanks so much for watching x
I like your hair!!!
Thanks so much x x
I love your greens more
I love the greens x
It’s a beautiful piece Marley, do you use a colour laser printer or ink jet?
I have my own decoupage company we have 2 massive specialist high production lasers
@@MadebyMarley oh right thanks, I knew that but I didn’t realise that is one of your papers, it’s beautiful, Kathryn 😻
NEW FRIEND AND SUBSCRIBERS HERE. Sammie @Blue Feather Homestead recommended your channel. You are very talented. I love what you do.
Hi Sammie thanks so much for subscribing I'm glad to have you along x
Ha ha ha...... If only I was so good a cooking.
Yes marty needs to get on those molds ha ha
Awesome!
Thanks so much x
Is there a place where you can order your portraits?
All our decoupage paper is on our website Natasha and we can put you in touch with a stockist near you.
However if you want this one of Marie please email us at sales@madebymarley.co.uk as this is a custom.
Look forward to hearing from you x
From what I understand when using clay for molds, if you paint then when their still wet, they won't Crack when there drying. I personally like the resin casting better, apply right after they cure when there still plyable. There more sturdier.
It's all personal choice.... Having been a Potter/ceramic artist for 17 years I would not add extra moisture to wet molds.. But hey everyone is entitled to do what they feel is best 😁
Resin isn't great for the environment or your body so again it's personal choice. Enjoy
And thanks for you comment ❤️
What is squib? I’d rather have y’all’s response than googling.. this turned out so beautiful and fancy.
A squib ha ha its just a word for it's not great, there's things not right about it, or its flawed or has an issue.
Ha ha ha.... I'm laughing x
I can relate to a squib.. I’m a little squinty and squint at times. 😂😂. You look fantastic. I hope you are yours are all doing well.
Flipping awesome as usual. I see some of the paints are in bottles. Do you put them in the bottles or are they bought that way? If so please put up a link for me. Every time I go online they redirect to another brand and it p....s me off. A link would be helpful. ❤❤❤
I think she’s using FIFO (First In First Out) bottles, found online at Amazon or restaurant supply stores.
@@MadebyMarley thank you Martin. 😇
Awsome ❤
Thanks so much x
Nice music Martin
Ha ha ha he really giggles when he does the music ha ha
When are you having your knee replacement? Ten years ago I had my first knee done and 5 years ago I had my other knee done. The best things I have ever done for myself. I truly felt like I had a brand new life. I have no pain and I feel great !
Well I'm not sure in the UK health care is different I'm on a waiting list that could take up to 5 years 😢😢😢😢
I just watched someone use hot glue in their moulds, clever, Kathryn 😊
Yes you can also use caulk.... Or chocolate yum
Stealing a line from Scarlett O'Hara, "I'm pea green with envy."
I just happened to be practicing with my Olive Crest Mould when I clicked on your video.
Who could ask for more? xoxoxo
PS I love Be A Queen.
I was wondering when the zhuzing would begin
Always always..... Ha ha ha
Beautiful!!! But…I THINK GLASS KNOBS WOULD BE BETTER IN MY OWN OPINION!
🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Pebo is normally a great artist brand but that gilders glue I'll be sure to avoid.
Yes your right I've never had a bad experience with a pen product. I think it's a faulty one as it was very runny..... I don't want you to think I don't like there products. I do it's a one of issue I think x x
I won’t use resin because it’s toxic, I just use DAS.
Yes.... I understand
🌞🌞🌞
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
A cave goblin😂🤣
Ha ha ha don't tell me I didn't look like one?
Everyone shouting resin, lol
Ha ha ha ha ha
Stunning, love it as always! 😊❤
Thanks so much that's very kind of you x
