Nice work bro, I just got this kit last week and I’m really digging it. I was having the random kick and snare missing triggers also . I changed the setting from linear to log 1 and tightened my heads and it made a huge improvement. It’s not perfect but close. I also increased the attack slightly and the dynamics by 8% . I figured I’d share if it might help someone. Keep up the great work on your channel ✊🏻
Thanks for the detailed and transparent review. These sounds really good. But damn, what’s wrong with Alesis? Every single time something wrong happens. I learned to stay away from this brand, because of issues that occurred, even with products that should not have problems. People buying Alesis stuff should not be in charge of solving problems that shouldn’t exist in the first place. Meh, it’s really sad. For that price, you should not have to make compromises to have it working. They seem really good at shooting themselves on the feet, everytime.
I have ( had ) the same annoying misshits on the snare + kick, till I found out by acccident, that the problem seems to be a crosstalk issue between these two triggers. I recognised that hitting the snare + kick at the same time ( which normally happens not that often when playing drums ) , the snare didnt trigger and only then..... playing the snare separately was fine. So i did the crosstalk procedure one time, which did not solve the problem - till I did the same procedure again with INCREASING THE X-TALK BOOST to aprox 15..... which - till now - solved this problem....I will see, if this was the final solution for the misshits, which I hope of course :-) ..... I still have 2 weeks to send it back and I allready was near to do so.... i will go on to test the triggering within this week and then decide if the set goes back or not.... The reason why I bought the set, where definitely the SOUNDS ( samples) which cannot be compared at all with the Roland TD30 Sounds that I was used to till now.
@@SamPaterson I just had another "session" in testing the triggerring.... I now believe the misstriggering of the module is surprisingly due to crosstalk between the pads. I just had an issue with Toms 3+4 which were "masking" each other and Tom 4 was not triggering at all when I hit Tom 3 some miliseconds before.... when I took TOM4 off the rack to prevent crosstalk ( through the rack) everything was fine again. After another Crosstalk procedure on ALL THE PADS with a slightly increased X- Talk boost ( don´t boost to much that causes problems again + does not help ) it´s working fine..... whenever that changes again I let you know :-) Best Gerald
@@SamPaterson I assume if the pads weren´t connected with the rack ( and so with each other ) -> No Crosstalk - No Misstriggering 😄 Its interesting, that in contrary to my Roland TD30 Module ( and others?) Crosstalk not only lets react 2 or more pads when hitting one of them, but also affects the triggering of the pads here. Toms ( and Cymbals are connected through the rack - Snare + Kick (+ HH) are connected through the floor . My set is standing on a wooden floor, maybe it reacts different on a carpet.
I got the TD-27KV2 ... added a Lemon china and splash... plus 2 12" Lemon floor toms and couldn't be happier... it's a perfect kit. Higher quality than the Alesis...
@2:41 yeah those missed triggers - plaguing Alesis for years. And I'm definitely not an Alesis hater here - I loved my old Strike SE... for a while... until the same triggering problems everyone is talking about now came to the fore. Same with both Strata models they've recently released they have released are, IMHO, unfinished products. It's sad that a company as big as Alesis seem to beta test on their customers. Glad I went with Efnote. Remember guys that if you are in Australia you have a right to repair, refund, or replacement for 'major fault' under Australian consumer law! Typically for 12 months for these sorts of products.
Ok.. so have had mine for two months now.. I am past my return Date.. so i am stuck with it now.. Support Has been working with me.. I have the Same triggering issues.. Log 1 fixes Some issues but not enough for my paid stage gigs.. in trouble shooting I have found i Only have missed or dead sounding hits when I play any 2 pads together in time.. I made a Video on My Channel of me playing Poker Face in nothing but over the top linear patterns On the linear curve setting (the one that sounds the best) but works the worst) and Zero Issues.. So idk.. I think linear mode needs to be optimized.. log 1 does Help.. but you lose natural dynamics.. and Still have Too many missed or dead hits.. Great Video.. maybe between a few of us owners who can post.. we can figure this out. (Sorry for the text wall)
Thanks for the honest review. For this kit's high price, having triggering issues is unacceptable (didn't they beta-test this before releasing the product?). Also not having individual outputs for each sound is a letdown. I think I'll pass. When it triggers correctly it does sound good though. Very close to a natural drumkit.
Is it worth It??

@SamPaterson will do!! Thx :)
Great review.. had mine for nearly 2 months now and I’m very happy with it 👍🏼

Have noticed my snare missing triggers too, will try these settings thanks for the tip mate
Sweet, thank you. I’ll give this a go ASAP
Thanks for the detailed and transparent review.

Every single time something wrong happens.

Meh, it’s really sad.
For that price, you should not have to make compromises to have it working.
They seem really good at shooting themselves on the feet, everytime.
Unfortunately this is a realisation that I’m having. I love the kit, but the triggering is a huge let down.

Hopefully that’s fixed it, I’ll be eagerly awaiting your results!!

@GeraldStotz interesting
oh wow, I got your point, seems exactly what I have been experiencing, will try your tip to see, thanks for sharing

I’d have to agree, I still love the look and sound of the Alesis but quality definitely goes to Roland.

100% agree, thank you!
@@SamPaterson :) but hard agree that the module sounds excellent!

It’s really starting to get to me, I hope we can all get Alesis to fix this. Really frustrating…
Very through review! Anyone here that could compare this to the Mimic Pro?
Thank you!! Good question…

You’d think so, I’ve got no idea how they didn’t pick it up. Really frustrating
Also, cymbals on TD27KV2 are 360 and can be choked.
True
TD27KV2 only comes with 3 toms, not 4.
👍
