- First movie for my new documentary series about culture and martial traditions of Okinawa:
Okinawa - new World, old traditions.
Traditional Okinawan dances and festivals, night life and a lot of karatedo and kobudo. Demonstrations of the leading World known masters, history of different schools and various training methods. Everything you ever wanted to know about true Okinawan Martial Arts.
These documentaries are for true followers of Martial Arts.
Part 1
Kyudokan. One World.
Okinawan karatedo has become a part of the World Cultural heritage. All over the World millions of people practice karatedo spending a lot of time, money and applying enormous efforts to understand traditions of an alien culture and a foreign country.
What makes them to undergo such a long and difficult path?
Movie where the past meets the present and the present draws power from traditions.
Shorin-ryu Karatedo Kyudokan as a personification of the spirit and traditions of Okinawan karate.
This movie is a gift for all the followers of Okinawan traditional martial arts where every single moment is devoted to karatedo.

I am a student of Kyudokan in Argentina, apprentice to Diego Higa, son of Oscar Higa, grandmaster of the school.
I am beyond honored to see this documentary and the characters I wspent my entire life hearing about.
Rest in peace Pedro, whom I missed by only a few years to meet here.
Rest In peace Benito, Yuchoku and Yintatsu. I will work hard to be better.
I am honored to be a student and will forever carry on with the tradition and follow the neverending art of the path of the empty hand.
I am proud to have been chosen to take the school to New Zealand and create a branch for that side of the world.
Every day i hope that each Tsuki honors you, teachers now passed, every Seiza shows my utter respect and each Kata well performed and lesson well learned makes you proud.
I have no Japanese blood to speak of. But there is no day that goes by that I don't feel like part of the family.
我が名誉を捧げます、師匠方
Fui alumno de Pedro, gran sensei. Tambien conoci a Oscar en un seminario, excelente persona. Saludos!
Love the jelly man performing

Probably the best documentary about karate I ever watched
Outstanding one of the best videos on Okinawa Karate I have seen. Looking forward to the next video.
This is a well edited, narrated, and researched documentary. You may have inspired me to go back where I left off in high school in Shito Ryu.
Is your day job making documentaries or in video editing?
Rebecca Burns How's the training going OSU

Олег-сан большое спасибо за то что делаете эту работу, ваши документальные циклы оказали огромное влияние не только на меня но и на моих учеников
My oh my! I have enjoyed this video very much and it's wonderfully produced. Thank you so much for allowing us into the world of the Kodukan Okinawa. Osu!
This is an amazing documentary. Very informative and inspiring. Thank you. 🙏
Anyway, I'm a Kyokushin practitioner (currently 4th kyu) but have high respects and appreciation to all systems of Okinawan Karate including Kyudokan.
I'll be visiting Okinawa this coming October and as a Karateka, I would like to explore the place of its birth and experience the culture and way of life in this fascinating island.
And despite my Kyokushin background, I also would like to experience traditional Okinawan Karate and this seems to be among the best of foreigner friendly. Osu!
Fantastic! I am a Hung Gar practitioner but Higa sensei is a real inspiration. So glad you posted this. Thank you!!
Just amazing love this am a shotokan student and judoka this is great 🥋🙏oss
Karate had been watered down in the west, it had lost its effectiveness and became commercialised and a sport as the olympics is going to do.
I'm glad to see Karate is still strong in Okinawa and Japan and I am blessed to be part of a strong dojo myself. OSU.
Well said, Brother! As a 66yr old Englishman who started training at 18 with 10yrs in Wing Chun, followed by 20yrs of WTF TKD and now a student of traditional Shotokan i agree and respect your comments here! OSU
Mitchx42 - nope, not in my experience. I guess you have been unlucky.

Really good documentary! As a fellow karateca of Shorin Ryu Matsubayashi I really enjoy it!
Very good documentary!!!
Bom dia...! Uma excelente técnica, saudável para corpo e mente👍👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏 OSSS
Rest in peace sensei fattore... he was like a second father to me...
I just started training in Shorin Ryu at a dojo with a shared lineage traced to Chibana sensei. This is one of the best videos I’ve seen on the topic of Karate, and particular Shorin Ryu. I appreciate the amount of research and care you put into this documentary.
very interesting , really nice work
Oleg, your video opened up a mysterious aspect of Karate. Before this I never knew that pushing hands and other sensitivity training was part of Karate. I believed that those were aspects of Chinese systems such as Wing Chun, Tai Chi etc. But it looks like those are part of Okinawan martial arts as well. Thank you very much :)
Modern karate is a good mental exercise.
This is a great presentation. I desired to participate in Kyokushin, but may instead train in Shorin Ryu. After watching this, I feel as though it may not be as much a mere second option as I first felt. Thanks.
beautiful documentary....hmmm.. I believe to recognize Shoshin Nagamine at the photo on minute 5:08....sitting in the middle...
dark stranger on soundtrack nice choice :)
what he says from like 10:30 to 11:10 is very true. in the internal martial arts (in karate as well I guess) they focus heavily on developing the energy of the dan tien and having the entire body move as a single unit with the dan tien as the axis point and allowing the energy (qi/ki) to flow better.
nice video
thank you
arigatou gozaimasu..ossu..
+1
Great documentary, I really enjoyed your work.
Of course they'll be idiots on here accusing these guys of opening a "McDojo!" Ha ha...
beautiful documentary, I hope you don't mind if I share this, your job deserves to be show to everybody , thanks for that kind of material .
At your service...
Namaste 🙏

I learned
From Kuydokan
o karate e muito lindo
A little sad to see the Master not train the way he was trained Fighting and using what they knew. Of course Kata is so important when studied correctly you find everything you need in them. I found it interesting that his school stressed fighting in the early days and changed with the times.
start adding in English subtitles plz :)
@35:00 are pink belts a normal part of the ranking system in this style or was it just for the kids class
please on your videos add English subtitles I love watching em but can't fully understand it! plz and thanx you
Those kids got pink belts!
2:20 Maestro Pedro Fattore ( QEPD )
Lovely documentary. Did you use Vegas or Avid? I love the editing style and the story telling part.
Nice work man.
That dojo where the female sensei is teaching have students wearing pink belts.
Where can i find the music on the beginning?
