Conversion companies and vw themselves with the California just capitalise on that. We bought ours from a VW Commercial vehicle main dealer, which I would recommend doing because they tend to get high quality used vans in stock and can transfer between their outlets. VW T6 campers are expensive because they look stylish and sexy, drive like a dream, are solid and well built and will go on forever if looked after. They also hold their value. Getting a good quality conversion enables you to have the interior done to your own taste and with what you want and also not have what you don't want.

That’s not a fact it’s your opinion. Thanks for the comment though.
Sorry but have to disagree you are a million miles away from comparing a VW to a transit chalk and cheese
Peoples willingness to pay top price to join the VW clan … yes they have always been expensive compared to other van brands 👍 that’s not my opinion it’s an empirical fact I’ve had quite few over the last 40 years and know that through buying them for myself.
@@peterlee44 i own both a 2019 t6 and a 2016 transit and can confirm the transit is better in every way. From fuel economy to reliability. Fit and finish, refinement, the lot. Every time I get in the vw something else breaks. This month its the washer pump. In 25 years driving I’ve never had one fail.
Anyone who spends 50k on one of those needs to be sent to hospital for a head examination....infact I expect they are bought on finance..even more ridiculous
Thanks for your insightful comment, I hope you feel better for getting that off your chest.
@@HighlifeCampersUK I just don't get how they are that much...madness all around
Vw campervans, are expensive mainly because of people's ego's (look at me I've a vw campervan)
And what is wrong with that if it makes them happy. What business is it of yours what people buy?
@@HighlifeCampersUK exactly as I stated, ego problems,,look in the mirror,,,
Also add if you can't deal with with adverse comments,,.maybe you should take up fishing.
@@jacktherack9551 Thanks for your input and comments, it really helps the YT algorithm find more people we can help, much appreciated
VW's generally are over rated. It's a brand thing.
👍👍🙂
And a year on there even higher 😂
Totally disagree with point 1, come on man vw transporters have been expensive way before the new van shortage!!! So the real truth is you build vans at that high price because people will pay. Badge buyers!!
Absolutely, I did day VWs have aways been expensive but even more so now. If people want a quality base vehicle and they like the VW brand, power to them, who are we to judge? people can buy what ever makes them happy..
Utter crap. Theyre a rip off. I’ve had one and they’re effectively useless. Buy a MWB Sprinter. Cheaper and better.
Nope too small and way overpriced,
This is bull****. so the high price isnt a high price he says, its just age and mileage related. As with every car so thats no excuse. And new vws? Blah blah blah no comment!
No I didn't say that, you just made that up. Prices are high, hence the title "Why Are VW Campers So Expensive' I explain why in detail, no fluff just the truth of the matter.
Its called corporate greed, thats why ive never bought one, nice as they are, theres no way they are worth the money,i ended up buying a two person motorhome instead, more facilities and dare i say better quality, for half the price, its just a van thats kitted out ,like a transit or renault trafic, the bottom will fall out of them eventually, ive looked at lots,(when i wanted to buy one) and come to the conclusion that they are not worth the money, add to it that they are the most stolen camper van in the uk,put me right off, shame really
The real reason why so expensive is RIP OFF ENGLAND. For what they charge you can go to a hotel every day for 3 years. Yes, not nessrsarily off the beaten track, but also ............I just can't be bothered to finish this.
