Love your conversions but they are all very much the same, i guess that works for your company but it would be nice to see you use your imagination a bit with interior layouts.

Very tasteful. I reckon I could take the barn doors if it meant I could have auto. Unless money is no object there's usually a compromise somewhere. At the end of the day it's all about actually using the thing and enjoying the freedom to explore this country and Europe

Other brands are available. And they are generally much better. E.g. Vivaro, Renault, Toyota...

Unobstructed vision is another plus of tailgate. UK so much tailgate is must in my opinion. Space to open is one downside but if you reverse tight to a another vehicle it’s not going to be easy to get in other than smashing a window. The weight is definitely an issue I’m considering taking out the chairs and using my Helinox camping chairs stored somewhere else in the van to reduce the weight of the tailgate.

I do like the idea of the RIB bed, especially the boot space and the fact you can raise the ends. On trying one out, I found when the bed was in seat configuration it was rather high and your legs dangled over the edge. Is this something that can be altered during conversion so the bed/seat is lower and your feet are on the floor?

Looks fantastic. Lots of vans now being lowered, adding front splitter and underslung tanks. What ground clearance does it have though? I have been to some rough campsites.

Just watched some of your very helpful videos. In this particular one you don't recommend using an ordinary electric heater in your van because it might damage your battery. Presumably this isn't the case if you're hooked up to the external electricity supply - or is it?🤔

Do you not need an annual hab check with these vans?

I always said I'd never have a white vehicle until I bought my last car, a white Qashqai with black trim. The white VW with black wheels and trim looks smart, love the indium grey too. After having a black Galaxy I'd never have black again, looks great as long as you don't mind constantly washing it, they show up every speck of dirt.

My VW California 2022 is classed as M1 same as a car.

I dont intend to cook inside a camper when I get one. Can you convert one but without a sink, a water tank, a cooker, and all the plumming. If you do, how will this change prices? Thank

Speed limits are different on a leisure vehicle versus a commercial vehicle, for example dual carriage ways 70mph for leisure v 60mph commercial van

I thought speed limits was the main V5 bugbear. 🤔

I’ve got a vw transporter 5.1 with a 6 speed manual and my wife has a vw Passat with a DSG. I’d rather drive her car, especially around town or in stop/start heavy traffic But imho the biggest advantage with the DSG, and I presume it’s the case with the transporter, is that in cruise control, if I have to slow down and drop a gear in the transporter it knocks out the cruise control, but with the Passat, if I have to slow down and the DSG drops a gear, the cruise control says active. If/when I change the 5.1 for a newer model, I’d definitely go for the DSG.

One more advantage of barn doors is that you can get soft panels with pockets that can be attached to the inside of the barn doors which gives you a lot of extra storage. I personally prefer barn doors because I can get stuff out so much more quickly. Plus the gas struts on tail gates which will eventually wear out. Mine has got barn doors with tinted heated rear windows and wash wipers. That said, it’s good that we have choices.

I’ve got a T5.1 that is a second car and now only does about 2k miles a year. It is regularly and meticulously serviced and with about 60k on the clock had already had the cam belt etc changed. One time, after it had been parked up for about 4 months, I took it out and after a few miles, the belt shredded, not the cam belt. Long story short, I had to replace belts, pulleys, alternator etc etc., with a bill for over £1k. And my mechanic said that vehicles do not like to be stood up for months on end, so even if it’s a camper that doesn’t get used that often, still take it our for a drive every few weeks so things don’t seize up.

Single seats, good shout, colours are beautiful, van looks brilliant, what about a slimline kitchen? 👌

I have just managed to find a VW T6.1 Transporter Short Wheel Base Automatic Panel van Highline T28 With A Reverse Camera LED Lights & Tailgate. It has only been used for delivering e-bikes On a 21 plate with 69000 miles so the mileage is high. So my concern now is the Cam-belt & water pump. I plan a conversion but I’m worried about the parts mentioned above. This van will not be a daily driver. So in my mind my thinking was due to the way I plan to use it even a newer van as a daily driver will in time over take mine with my planned driving style. We will see.

Great advice for the UK-it's absolutely disgusting what the DVLA are doing!!! To think they actually work for us. Unfortunately, camper status matters in Italy. if you want to re-register your vehicle in Italy-as we do, you may have great problems trying to register it as a camper vehicle if it isn't already classified as a camper in the UK. We found out the hard way and are still trying to get our camper van registered to drive after 4 long years😭 (which is needed if you want to drive such a vehicle in Italy and probably much of the rest of Europe) as the changes made to update it to camper van are seen as modifications our Mazda Bongo which is beautiful and has a pop top roof
