I was a Royal Marine Commando for 15 years now long retired and combat changes a man it's a real thing tough guys struggle with all sorts of things PTSD , mental health in general .etc . You can't live a life of combat like Sean has for decades and not be affected by it , it's combat fatigue ( a nice way of saying PTSD ) to live a life in and surrounded by violence or episodes of violence is like constantly being on the front line , unless you are a complete head case or phsycopath ordinary fighting men like Sean and me and my mates from the Marines simply cannot cope long term . I cant stress enough that being a gangster or a tough guy in civilian life and I mean proper not plastic is without doubt an extremely difficult challenge to maintain your well being as a Human Being and I dont just mean the physical but the chemistry of the brain . Just my two cents worth but Ive experienced some horrific things in my service because the guys I faced were armed with some proper naughty tools like bombs , rocket launchers /machine guns and last but noy least religeous zeal , and trust me when I say this ,that is one of the hardest challenges mentally to get around as a serving soldier in real combat .
Well done Matt and thanks Sean for your sharing your Truth .

Mental health is no joke and this whole tough guy thing in society is out of control but that does not mean that people like soldiers who served and the likes of Sean should be written off and condemned as unredeemable persons . Wow, I can't believe Shaun is showing his vulnerable side. Being a Paramedic for 20 years working in the UK, Africa, South America and many urban disaster zones all over the world,, I have an extensive experience of PTSD. Your channel is getting better, Shaun was a great and honest guest, I'm sick of listening to how ex cons look back and bragging how tough they where, don't get me wrong, most are tough men like Shaun. However, when you adk about their past life and they admit that they where scared and how its not worked out for the best of them long term, that is far more productive to listeners, than crime is great attitude.

Great interview Matt 👏👏👏 this was well worth the wait. I have CPTSD and one of my meds is also the dreaded Quetiapine (instant release). I hate it but I'm incapable of sleep without it. But it turns you into a zombie and the hunger cravings are insane.
It's so great to see Sean, like yourself, willing to be open about his personal mental health struggles as much as he is his life story. I felt a connection even though my issues originate from different circumstances. Some of the stuff he's experienced would fuck anyone's head up. The more that men are open about this, the more men can be saved.

Just ask Christ, behind closed doors, with eyes closed to reveal Himself and restore your heart.
Matthew 11.28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
